When our tacos were delivered, everyone at the table had ordered beef except for my spouse, who had one chicken taco. We asked the food runner, Brian, if he could help us identify which taco was the chicken so she didn't accidentally eat beef. Instead of assisting, he threw his hands up, mumbled under his breath, shook his head, and walked away while we were still asking a simple question. The reaction felt dismissive and unnecessary given the situation. While I stepped away from the table, I was told he later returned to apologize and shared that he had been yelled at in the back and took that frustration out on us. I appreciate the apology and understand that everyone has tough moments. I also learned he has been there a long time and may face personal challenges. Even so, guests should never feel the impact of internal stress. Respect and basic communication are part of the hospitality experience. To their credit, the bartender stepped in and comped my last round of wings, which felt like a genuine effort to make things right and was appreciated. I still had a good night overall, but the interaction left a lasting impression that I won't forget. We met several New England natives who now live in Tampa. Lucy was our server for all three nights. She was FANTASTIC. She was always present to get us more drinks and had a great attitude.
