I really do like this place but, the wing sizes are small. The food taste good and on special deals reasonably priced. I do have to ask what kind of chicken is this small? Went to place a to-go order for dinner. The parking lot was a nightmare; lots of deep pot holes. The place was packed for Saturday night football. We spoke to a waitress and ordered 70 wings (40 teriyaki, 10 sweet chili, 10 medium, 10 lemon pepper, 10 garlic parmesan), some fried banana peppers, and some pretzel sticks with cheese. We were 'warned' by the waitress that the wings were very small, and she wasn't lying. The order was done within 5 minutes. When we got home, we discovered they forgot to give us the order of garlic parmesan wings. The wings were very delicious, but dry. The fried banana peppers were very addictive and delicious. The pretzel sticks were good, but the cheese sauce tasted like EXTREMELY watered down nacho cheese. Overall, the service was great, the food was okay. Since they were busy, it can be seen as a mistake that they forgot the parm/gar wings, but as for quality, they could do better. read more

Many people complain of the smallish size of the wings, because they are not large. However, the taste is great and is still reasonable value for the money. My first visit to Wings Xpress was not so good, since my two son's and I had to wait longer than normal for our order. Our second visit was much better our order was ready in less than 10 minutes. I must say that they do have the best made to order cheesecake bits and fried apple pie bits with powdered sugar on top. Usually a good place to eat. I have no issues 90% of the time. However, tonight, it was a nightmare to place an order. It took 20 minutes for someone to answer the phone, then another 5 being left on hold. Which I'm sure they were busy, understandable. This place is terrible. The wings are tiny and dry- hardly any sauce. We ordered 50 for a family of 4- that's a joke in itself. The wings are solid, but probably the smallest you can find on the market. However, they make up for it in bulk and value. If they sold them by the pound (like some other wing operations) the value would be apparent. Plus, the small wing size means more surface area and more crispiness. I always though the key to wings was bigger and meatier, but these make me second guess that. read more

I understand having a few small ones even like four or five when getting 15 wings but these were all tiny. Some were just fried pieces of cartilage/bone. These are the best Boneless Wings I've had in a long time. I've been here twice, ordered both to go and eaten in. Both times were delicious and perfect. Crispy Boneless wings tend to have dry meat. Food was ok. Service was horrible. Never came out to check on us. Multiple times we had to ask for drinks because some of us never got ours. Sat outside with empty drinks for a while. One of the girls at the table NEVER got a drink throughout her whole meal! Beginning to end because I guess she kept forgetting it and never check on us. Had to go in and ask for things. Waited forever for our tickets. And honestly as annoying as all that was my food was still good and we had a good time, my problem is receiving poor service when there is an automatic gratuity fee. I was very excited to eat here but after showing up I was very much turned around. I didn't get wings and I guess that's my fault but if you have something on your menu you should be proud of it. I got the philly and the wife got the buffalo chicken sandwich and the kiddo got the chicken fingers. The philly was flavorless to the max and the chicken sandwich was hotter than fire and fell all over the plate and the chicken fingers were sysco premade junk. Normally I'm a pretty 3 rating guy for ehhhh food but this place was rough. The atmosphere and the server were good but the food was something I would have made in high school and been proud of. Great wings and cheap beer. Lots of different dive bar fare. More of a dive bar than a restaurant. Owner doesn't care at all about the place. I guess he will change the light bulbs when the last one burns out. It's dark and dingy. The urinal has been out of order for probably a year. Door to men's room is so filthy I don't want to touch it. Door knob is broken so there is a little gate latch. Good grief, spend a little money on the place. Extremely friendly environment and employees, however they serve quite possibly the most disappointing wings I've ever had. Both the flats and drums were tiny, like the smallest wings I've seen. They were incredibly dry, both due to barely any sauce on them and the meat (what little there was) was not juicy at all. Couldn't say if the sauce was good due there being practically none on them. If not for my hotel being far away from the restaurant I would have asked for a refund. We were intending to eat at Spicys on Emory road but they were closed for remodeling. We prefer them because we like small "pigeon size" crispy wings any time they are available! On our way back to Knoxville we noticed the reviews of this place on Yelp. Based on reviews we decided to give it a try! Ordered appetizer sampler that allows you to pick 4 items. We got fried banana peppers (great!) mini corn dogs, cheese sticks and jalapeño poppers they were very good! Wings were the best! Make sure to order them extra crispy! This is one of the worst restaurants in town. The service is the worst in Knoxville. This restaurant is staffed with rude and incompetent employees. They refuse to play NFL games on their tiny televisions. The fried chicken wings are extremely over cooked and extremely small. Fantastic! Great local place with fast service and excellent food, at a great price! We visited from out of town. We usually like to find a local place rather than eat at a chain restaurant. We were thoroughly surprised at how incredible the wings are. Wings are cooked perfectly, sauce is exceptionally flavorful. We had the sweet chili and Parmesan garlic. Only thing, the wings themselves are a little small so you might want to order more than you usually would. But the prices are so great it won't hurt the wallet! If you dine in, the atmosphere is local sports bar style. Staff is relaxed and super friendly. 10/10 would recommend to a friend! read more

Place sucks. Yea it's cheap but there is hardly any meat on the chicken wings! What little meat you could taste was ok but they were so dry they crunched. All of the sides I could have bought at Kroger and gotten three times the amount for what I spent. I also ordered the fried cheesecake... DIDN'T GET IT. Drove all the way home and no cheesecake. It wasn't worth $3 going back after I saw the tiny wings.
