I can't comment on the food here, only dessert. When I stopped in for baklava to-go I was not impressed. The girl working the front had no interest in talking to me. The place was empty. She was watching tv. And playing on her phone doing whatever. I mean, how dare I interrupt her? I stood over the bakery case and considered the pastry options. She wasn't much help on recommending something. She wanted me to hurry up already. Whatever. I'll take the baklava, babe, and get outta your way. It was too dry. Definitely needed more honey. And it fell apart at the fold. At least they used pistachios.

I call and they say their hours on Sunday are from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. The Sunday hours on the door say 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. I show up at 3:05 ......the lights are off and the place is locked up tight. Morons.

Insanely good. I had the stake Shwarma and a side of hummus dip for delivery. The delivery was quick and the food outstanding. The portion of stake was huge and seasoned perfectly. The hummus was fresh and delicious. I highly recommend Aladdin Grill.

Would give 0 stars if i could. I purchased 2 chicken plates that included chicken, rice, and bread. I took a bite of each one and immediately spit it out. My 2 friends also tried it and were equally as disgusted. I called the place to ask if I could bring it all back for a refund and the man refused. I am so disappointed that a place took our money and gave us inedible junk. This was the worst food and worst experience I have ever had with a restaurant in my entire life. The "food" also had a really bad stench. I'm afraid that if anyone would have digested this they would have become very sick from it.

    Dry, bland, hockey puck falafal

I called in a delivery order. I ordered a falafal plate, the mixed grill and a lasagna. It took about an hour, mind I don't live far away. I live in the Old City. My total was $34.xx including delivery. Once my food arrived I was excited to dive in but after a few bites my body started to immediately reject this mediocre food. The falafal was dry and bland. The grilled vegetables in the mixed grill were frozen carrots and broccoli. The bread sticks that came w the lasagna were dry, old and fried, also left in the fryer way too long. Ill probably never give this place a try again. I also do not recomend to others. There are other places in town with more passion, freshness and care for their food the serve.

This is what they call potato wedges.

Not Watson's? More Like... Not Worth It…read more Sometimes in life you have to listen to that inner voice. The one that quietly nudges you in another direction. The one I ignored today when I chose Not Watson's instead of following my true spirit to the Old City for a vegan tamale that had been pressing on my psyche all morning. But I ignored it. So here we are. This happened Wednesday, March 4, 2026. I was downtown on Market Square for a business meeting. The weather was nice, I had already paid to park, and the craving for fish and chips got the best of me. Not Watson's was close, so it seemed like the logical choice. But when the vibe is off... the vibe is off. Around 1:05 PM there was a line at the door. One party of four, two additional parties of two, and then me -- the solo diner. While we were standing there waiting, two women from one of the parties asked if I was waiting on someone. When I told them no, they kindly invited me to sit with them. A thoughtful gesture. But I declined. Maybe if I had accepted, I might have received better service. Ah yes... the small pitfalls of solo dining. What made things odd was that the place didn't even appear busy. Several different servers came to the front to seat people, but there was no hostess and tables still needed to be cleaned before anyone could sit. I almost left. My instincts were already whispering, go get that tamale instead. But the pull for fish and chips was strong, so I thought, forget it -- I'll wait. When my turn finally came I was asked, "Outside? High-top? Or a table in the back?" Well damn. It felt a little like I was being strategically placed out of sight, so I chose the table in the back. Walking through the restaurant I again noticed it really wasn't busy. Then I sat. And sat. Ten minutes went by with no greeting, no water, no acknowledgment. So I did what anyone would do -- I watched the TV in front of me. At that point the urge to leave was getting stronger, but me being me thought, let me give this another second. That's when a gentleman from the kitchen came over. He introduced himself and said he noticed no one had waited on me yet and didn't want me sitting there hungry, so he took my order. He mentioned my server would come by shortly. Spoiler alert: my server never actually showed up. I later learned my server was also bartending. Eventually my food arrived -- three pieces of fish, fries, and coleslaw (which unfortunately had absolutely no flavor). By this point I was hungry, so I dug in. First problem: the fish was fried way too hard, almost burnt. Second problem: the fries were so salty they could probably raise your blood pressure on sight. But the real issue? The fish had zero taste. None. If the fish had actually tasted good, crispy or otherwise, I probably would have eaten it anyway. But this was like chewing overcooked cardboard. When the gentleman came back, I showed him the fish and he immediately saw the problem. He said he would alert the kitchen. He kindly offered a complimentary dessert (declined) and offered to have the fish and chips remade (also declined). At that point I had lost my appetite. When the check arrived, it was half-price. Now here's where the math didn't quite math. You were willing to remake the entire meal, yet I paid half price for a plate where I ate one piece of fish and a few fries, after spending most of my visit waiting to be acknowledged. So I paid my $9, left a tip, and got the heck out of there. As I was leaving he said, "Hopefully we'll get it right next time." Next time? I left just as hungry as I arrived. The only silver lining of the entire experience was remembering I had half a Butterfinger sitting in my desk drawer back at work. Now that lit me up. Unfortunately, between the awkward service, the overcooked fish, and leaving just as hungry as I came, this is one fish-and-chips stop I won't be revisiting.

When we made a reservation on the website there was no mention of a pre fixe menu. Not on the website, and not with the reservation. We went intending to get light appetizers, but when we arrived we were told that the only option was a 55 dollar per person menu. While we were annoyed by the bait and switch we decided to stay because there was no chance of getting a table anywhere else. I'll start by saying that I Know that Valentine's Day is historically very busy, but over half the tables in the restaurant were empty, and I've been in significantly busier environments where I still received a high level of service. In this instance, saying that we were dismissed by the staff was an understatement. My wife was sat while I was parking, and when I joined her I wasn't even acknowledged by the staff. We asked one question the server who was dropping off the food snapped at us and acted extremely irritated that we even addressed her while she dropped the food off. We asked for tea because we knew that was one of their specialties. The response that was snapped back was "no tea tonight, if you want drinks go pay at the bar, it's separate." The table beside us seemed to clearly be VIPs as the were in fact served several pots of tea. All in all the staff made us feel like we were an inconvenience and they didn't want us to be in the restaurant. The exception was a very nice server wearing a light colored dress, she was very kind, which only made everyone else's disdain all the more evident by contrast. The food itself was just ok. Course 1: salads, it had fruit and fresh vegetables. It was excellent. Course 2: zucchini and eggplant with beef. It was well cooked but the sauce was extremely bland. Course 3: chicken stuffed with liver. This was gross, not even edible. Course 4: leg of lamb with rice. Once again the meat was well prepared, but it here was almost no seasoning. The rice that came with it was undercooked and kinda tough. Course 5: It was listed as braised beef brisket, but it was just an unseasoned pot roast. I expected Mediterranean food to be presented with a significantly more interesting range of flavor profiles. Course 6: Baklava, really great! The layers were crisp and the flavor was smooth. All that to say, it wasn't anywhere near worth the cost, I went for a light dinner and only had the option of buying a heavy 6 course menu. Other tables were given service and we were treated as an annoyance. The location was very convenient, so they have that going for them... which is nice.

We had heard of this place for a while and wanted to check it out and we're so glad we did. The food and service were amazing. Walking in it's a narrow restaurant, that has a bar on one side and tables on the other with kinda a rustic feel to it. We were seated immediately and our drink orders were taken. Since we hadn't been there before we got water and then pursued the menu a little for drinks. I had a question between two drinks and the server was very good at describing the drinks and ultimately decided to try the Darryl Strawberry, while my husband got the Nor'easter. The drinks came out and they were really good. They weren't overly strong, you could taste the bourbon in each of them, but it wasn't overpowering. For food we got the OPA! to start and then the Billy for me and the Mother Clucker for him. The OPA was awesome. It's pan seared feta with honey and served with fresh bread. The honey added a little extra sweetness to the feta which went really nicely with the crusty bread. The Billy had goat cheese, bacon, onions and, a tomato jam on it. It was delicious. The creamy goat cheese with the bacon and smokey tomato jam all went amazingly together. I got onion rings as my side, which were crunchy hot and so so good. The Mother Clucker was also really good. I only had a bite of it to try, but was definitely impressed. My husband upgraded to the duck fat fries which were out of this world. Super crunchy, great flavor. Our server kept checking back on us the whole time making sure we were satisfied with our drinks and food, but we had absolutely no complaints. This is a great place for a date if you want good food or to hang out with friends. We will definitely be back.

In particular, I liked their family feast option that includes salad, two meats/entrees, couscous with veggies, and a desert. The detail and flavor of the cuisine is just great -- perfectly spiced and good portions. The food quality is on par with many nice restaurants in town. But, it wasn't busy when I visited on Saturday night. I suspect the low crowds are due to the location. It's tucked away in an area that looks like an office park near downtown. Not really any other restaurants or attractions that would bring most people to this area. That said, it had plenty of parking and was a nice setup. The other downside (for me at least) is they had a live musician who had his volume cranked up way too loud for this setting. Overall: Strongly recommended. I hope that people will try Tarik's because it's a unique option for Knoxville. They deserve the business because the food is truly very good.
