Honestly if you even go to the restroom, you will miss something. So just hold it! Im not kidding. They are outhouses, which I hate but very well kept. More pyrotechnics went off and shook the ground while I was in there, "Dang! What am I missing???" This truly is the greatest show on earth! Get on their mailing list! We go every year in August and gleefully buy our tickets in May as soon as we get their email. It's a huge extended family day that we look forward to all year! Commit to a full day and you will not be disappointed! This is a non stop heart pounding thrill! You'll see aerobatics, some too close for comfort.... Thus, the thrill! Also incredible pyrotechnics. Get an adrenaline rush, or endorphin rush or both when a Super Hornet F18 blasts through right in front of you then performs feats in the sky and comes back again and again to dazzle you. Yes! Bring ear plugs for kids, but adults who can, just do without for full impact! Loud but such an adrenaline rush! But that's not all. You've got several war theaters represented, WW2 fighters, Korean War planes, and Pacific theater. Plus the aerobatics, the 99s, Judy Phelps, and on and on. Enjoy the entertaining and informational commentary throughout, along with great music. This is a fabulous 4 hour production and you'll agree, its worth every penny and all your trouble getting there. As for getting there... We've perfected our trip so let me tell you how to do it. You're going to be "camping" by the runway: 1. Buy your tickets in advance. They do sell out. 2. Gates open at 9am. You'll pass by tons of things you won't want to miss: great car show, military vehicles and aircraft and police vehicles and aircraft and more. You get to tour, touch and sit in them. If you don't come early to see all that, you'll be torn between missing the thrill show. 3. Visit a food truck to bring to your runway campsite well before noon, so that when you're hungry in the middle of the air show, you don't have to miss the thrill. Food truck lines are long. 4. If you can't get there by 9, get there at least by 11am. Because you'll park far away and they do have shuttles but even with that, you'll be in line even though you're ticketed and checked by security, etc. (Stop whining, it's worth it) 5. We load up a wagon as do many: Bring chairs, sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, ice chest with water. Go! read more

This yearly airshow at the Camarillo airport is a must see if you're in the area! The doors open at 9 and the airshow is ABOUT noon-4:00. There is parking everywhere around the airport, shuttles for far lots. If you get there early you will get to experience everything but park far, get there about 2 and you can park right next to the entrance. We have done both. There is SO much to do for the whole family! There are food vendors galore, a stem pavilion with robotics, flight sims, MANY crafts for kids, planes and helicopters to see up close, sit in and tour the inside! The show is amazing and this years was the best paced, no waiting around for the next set of planes, they just kept coming! Suggestions: take a wagon with chairs, umbrella water and lots of sunscreen! Don't forget the hat and sunglasses to best see those planes up high! read more

This is a fantastic air show with one caveat. Why do they feel the need to play music loudly when the flying exhibitions are happening. Part of the beauty of these planes are the sweet engine sounds. Also it makes it difficult to hear the announcers describe the different facts about the airplanes. Please stop the obnoxious music. This review is about the 2022 air show. read more

15 per person seems a little steep for an air show. Then, you add it up. Kids under 12 are free. It's 8 hours of entertainment. About 50 planes to walk by or into (old and new), old military vehicles, classic cars, kids area, food booths, beer garden, and souvenir booths. Set our chairs up early at 9:30, planes didn't start flying until 12:30. No need to get there early, plenty of good seats to look up. A small price to pay for a day of family fun. This year we were surprised to see RedBull stunts. The pilots put on a great show. It was a time of pure enjoyment. We, as a family, treasure these moments. Thankful to all the hours that go into pulling something together like this. The airshow itself was great. My family enjoyed all of the in the sky entertainment. However the people working the check in were rude and it took 30 mins to get through for them to scan our tickets. The lines kept getting longer and longer due to the ticket check in table. They finally scanned our tickets and handed us wristbands. I moved away from the check in table to make room for someone else behind me and the guy his yelling at me to put the wristbands on. Yes I will and we are but I'm moving away so that someone else can get up there. His response was no do it here. I said those lines are ridiculous, it took us 30 minutes just to get here. His response too bad nothing I can do. Wow for a non-profit to act that way towards people paying $25.00 a person to get in. Very disappointing and sad. read more

Top tip is to make sure and bring your own folding chair as people line the edge of the runway( about 100 yards away) with their gear. It's not all vintage aircraft and the Red Bull parachute team launched from the specially built RedBull helicopter is a sight to see. Vicky Benzing, A brilliant lady pilot did some incredible stunt flying in her "hotrod" of a an aerobatic plane. Aerobatic, Flying & Static Displays Vintage, Experimental, Military Family Fun and even a small Classic Cars section too. Gates open at 9 and the show starts at 12 or there about and runs until 4pm. If you buy your tickets online early they offer a 33% discount ( 10 bucks vs 15) so that is the way to go for sure. A sight for the eyes and ears and family friendly too. Lot's of food stands and even a sit down restaurant are on site to handle the nom nom situation. This is a nice regional and community based air show, part living history, part Sunday Funday adventure but a great day no matter how you slice it. read more
