My family and I were traveling to Colombia. We had a long layover in Mexico City. We were hungry, so we decided to have dinner here based on the limited amount of options inside the airport. I started off with a soup called sopa Azteca, which is made with chicharrón, chile guajillo, and queso Oaxaca. It was yummy! For my main dish, I ordered a Rib Eye with veggies! The food was good, but not fantastic. I did, however, really enjoy the soup. The service was excellent! Our waiter checked on us several times. It was the end of my Mexico City weekend getaway, and I managed to get to my terminal early. I was a bit hungry, so I decided to stop by this Wings location. To those that haven't been to a Wings, it is similar to a Denny's or IHOP. Found at airports throughout Mexico, this particular location has served me great food before catching a flight out of Terminal 1 at Benito Juarez Airport. The several time that I've come here, the customer service has always been decent. To start off, I usually go with a lemonade and a cappuccino. For the main dish, I've ordered the bisquit wing, which comes with two eggs, a biscuit sandwiching ham and bacon, and a side of fried beans topped with cheese and some chilaquiles. Another dish that I've had was one with grilled steak, one egg, and red chilaquiles topped with cream. Both dishes were decent and hit the spot well. For dessert, I've had their flan, which I opt to top with espresso rather than ice cream. The flan is great, prepped with the right balance of ingredients. The ambient here is chill. It's a decent place to stop by for food before a flight. The selection is decent, and the overall experience is delightful. read more

I was at the Benito Juarez International Airport (MEX) looking for a good meal. After walking the terminal and assessing the situation, we settled on a diner-like establishment called Wings. Now, here's the thing. Scattered throughout MEX you'll find multiple locations of Wings in both terminals. This review is for the one in Terminal One on the end. Contrary to what people may assume by only relying on the name, this is not a chicken "Wings" joint. Now, they do serve wings as like a novelty, but the name "Wings" is a nod to the golden age of aviation. You can see this through the many vintage photos of classic planes and airline pilots adorning the walls, hence Wings. One thing about the environment too that is worthy of mention is they play pop music videos, so it's a very mainstream atmosphere. Before walking in, you can see the extensive menu posted. They have breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as different types of fare from Enchiladas to Burgers. Pretty much anything within a Mexican / American mainstream food is what's being served. The food was delicious! Okay, I got an iced hot chocolate and an order of Huevos Rancheros with the sauce on the side. Let me tell ya- the flavors were terrific, and everything tasted really fresh. My beans were stellar. The corn tortillas were straight up singing with a clean corn flavor and the sauce, which was pretty close to perfection; was a bit spicy- I'm glad I got it on the side so I could control the heat. The service was excellent as well. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. Also, when our food was brought out, three people were table side to get all our food set up for us. Lots of camaraderie here and they work well as a team. While this was on the more pricier range for food in Mexico, please remember it's in the airport where resources are stretched thin, and the final total was about what you would expect to pay in the states. My group and I arrived from Cancun and we were all dying of hunger. The second we retrieved our luggage we continued on straight through the terminal to look for a nice place to eat. This restaurant caught all o our attention, and itl appeared like one of the largest restaurants in the entire airport. There were all sorts of travlers like us with their luggage, as well as, airport workers and pilots. We were seated immediately, and then we proceeded to check out the menu. I am not a huge wing person, so I decided on the Yecapixtla Platter which in luded beef steak, chilaquiles Rojas asados, and a single fried egg. I got seated immediately, but unfortunately that's the only quick service I got. Everything else is very slow. I had a couple of people coming over to verify if I was ok, but they weren't able to take my order. They said they will tell my waiter...my waiter still needed to come and ask me what I want. Smh. One good thing is their juice. I ordered a cup of their orange juice and it came up quickly. The orange juice was freshly squeezed and you know it's not from a box like in the USA. I ordered their omelette tinga, thinking that an omelet would be easy and safest to get that they couldn't ruin it. Well the tinga for me was lacking flavor. It wasn't spicy enough. The Wings restaurants chain in airports in Mexico used to be pretty nice. I'm not sure what happened, but the quality of food and service has gone down significantly. I arrived at this Wings for brunch on May 9th and was very disappointed. My server was decidedly not friendly ...and apparently not competent either. I requested the drink made with pineapple and spearmint, and the enchiladas suizas. I also requested that she bring me some totopos (tortilla chips) and salsa. I was finally brought a little basket with a small roll of bread in it; no chips, no salsa. My enchiladas arrived, a rather meager portion and with a twinge of old grease taste. There is very little chicken in them. Thankfully the green sauce on top was passable. Usually enchilada suizas are topped with cheese; these had very little. Since I had not eaten breakfast I was very hungry, so I went ahead and ate them anyway. My drink came, but it had cucumbers in it, not what I ordered. I had to flag down the server to have her take it back and get what I ordered. She insisted I was wrong but reluctantly did as I requested. The atmosphere and ambience seems nice, everything seemed reasonably clean, but their food and service is very lacking. This location does not have restrooms of their own. But if you go out the door to the right the airport has restrooms for you to use. I will not be returning to this or any other Wings if there are any other options available. They have 2 locations in this terminal, but I only ate in one (I won't be trying the other one, but I can't imagine that its food is much different). The best meal I've had in my two days in Mexico was unbelievably at the Mexico city airport at wings. Despite being super busy, we were seated promptly. We were initially handed Spanish menus but after the obvious language barrier , we were given to our sleigh English menus The menu goes on forever and there are so so many kinds of omelettes and scrambled egg dishes. My friends and I for the Mexican style scrambled eggs which are fluffy buttery eggs with chopped tomatoes non spicy skill is woven through it. You are given some baguettes style bread and butter to go along with it. And it also comes with either juice, coffee (refill available), tea or some fruit. The scrambled eggs were delicious. The device prompt. And a service charge was not sneakily added on unlike other places I had been to where service was atrocious. My family and I stopped here since it was the only place that had available seating. We were seated promptly and that's where the 5 star service ended. Our waiter waited about 10min to come over and take our drink orders. Then when he took them, he disappeared for another 10. We finally placed our orders and waited. He brought ketchup and mustard over and said the orders will be right up. We waited 15min and the person who arrived after us already had her food. At the 18minute mark, we were about to leave and he brought the food. He apologized and served the food. As soon as we bit into it, the wings were cold and fries under cooked. We had a flight to catch so we asked for the bill as we so we can pay, eat and leave. He brought the bill and I gave him my card to pay and he asked for my PIN number. I asked why and he said so he could enter it in the machine. I told him I'm not giving him my PIN number and he said then we can't accept the card. I said I'll walk over with you and enter my pin. We walked over and he put my card into the machine and it didn't even ask for a PIN number. Pretty shady if you ask me. Please beware of the employees trying to take advantage of foreign customers.
