Wing's Dai Pai Dong (meaning 'street food stall') is a handy Asian-Fusion food bar in the Arndale. Another offering from Wing Shing Chu of the highly regarded Wing's restaurant on Lincoln square, its tasty, fast nosh at very reasonable prices. There's Japanese, Chinese, Cantonese Dim Sum and even Thai dishes on offer here. There's a great choice of Sushi, with classics like Uramaki starting at £3 for 3 pieces. There's Japanese Udon noodles, Thai dishes including Satay skewers at just £1.50, Dim Sum at 60p each and a great selection of juices and coffee. The staff are pretty accommodating too, and whilst this isn't and can't be of the same quality as it's more upmarket counterpart, it is a great 'street food' stop off.

The food is classed as pan asian which is great as I love all asian food. However, the sushi, although very good, I feel it is slightly overpriced for what you get. The duck, especially at lunch, is amazing value though. Plenty for 2 to share. This is definitely a place to try out if you love asian food.

My first visit to Sakana and I was pleasantly surprised at how its interior looked (more so the delicious smells wafting over as you passed by their open kitchen). We were seated in a corner with decent views of the goings-on, and set about conquering the menu - the group was almost military in its tactics, dividing the menu's sections between ourselves to make sure we got to sample lots of different dishes. Three of us ordered a bottle of their house red (a Merlot) which was actually quite good - a bit on the peppery side but I really liked it. The food started to arrive after a bit of a wait, but we'd had some prawn crackers to whet our appetite. The sashimi platter that I ordered for us all to share was a bit disappointing (usual price £28 for 15 pieces). I can't think of anything else that was particularly underwhelming; the combo of orders was all rather good - but the highlights for me were the Taiwanese buns which you could have with shredded duck or pork belly (we ordered both). These were absolutely heavenly, for want of a better word. Service was friendly, if not a tad haphazard at times; it's definitely somewhere to consider for date night. That being said, you'd have to be happy 'flashing the cash' as I don't think it's worth the full price they'd ordinarily be charging diners.

We booked the 30% off in January deal and rocked up not knowing what to expect. It's in a lovely (but expensive) part of the city and walking in you could see it would be lavish. The lighting was dim but good and we got a little confused as there was nobody waiting at the sorry, so we went upstairs and to the bar and checked in and quickly got seated. The chair and booth was so soft and comfy I sank into it and felt like I was gonna sink forever ... but I survived and it was comfy. The place setting was so much fancier than I was used to and it oozed posh. We quickly got served and the server was lovely and helpful and the restaurant was just lovely. When we got our food (decided in just a main and later desert as we planned for later tacos) and oh my god .. the ribeye was the best steak I've ever had. It was so tender and juicy and cooked to perfection and the thick cut chips were brilliant. I just got a single small glass of red (which was more than I usually pay for a bottle ) and was just lovely. The desert came later and my god that was equally as good. The bill was £80 for 2 of us but with the 30% off went down to £60 which was cheaper than other places we've been to but only with the money off. Would I go again as a date or treat? ... Absolutely

It can be accessed via a secluded staircase inside Austalasia, this unique cocktail bar evokes the atmosphere of a luxury Pacific beach hideaway with smart colonial style decor in cream and white, a long bar, and a secret tropical garden. With exquisite cocktails as its main focus. The menu is the same as Australasia so you can expect some mouth watering sushi and desserts here. The whole place screams class and panache from every corner. This bar is definitely very unique and reminds me a lot of classy cocktail bars in London or New York. The pricing definitely is very high end as you would imagine and you need to put on some swanky clothes to feel not so out of place here. I can vouch that the food is delicious and so are the cocktails, but that you can find in a lot of other places too so this one you need to visit purely for the ambiance and the whole experience. Verdict : Great place to visit when you want to feel special!

We were seated straight away and considering it was half 9 it was relatively busy! We were served by a devil (halloween themed) and considering the outfit the server was lovely. We ordered a bottle of fizz and a coke, the soft drink did get lost on route however was soon rectified. I opted for the duck dumplings to start and pitting them against Wagamamas own I was left slightly disappointed. The dumplings had a sticky texture and weren't quite full to the brim with duck and didn't have much of a taste alone but needed a good dip in the soy sauce to add flavour. For my main I opted for the chicken katsu curry (I was hungry!) It arrived promptly and was a super tasty combo of sticky rice, deep fried chicken with a mild curry sauce. I would say it was on par with Wagamamas version even served with the same side salad topped with ginger. I wouldn't come here for a special occasion but its perfect for a quick and reasonable dinner!

Or perhaps they don't need to and it is just a play pet project for the owners who also own Seamark (the building next door) Hulme is not a nice area and it really is an odd place to have a restuarant such as this, bit out the way and not a place I recommend for a nice stroll. The decor is great and they spent millions of pounds designing it, so you will certainly be in awe of the place. However the food is not so grand. It is by no means bad but come on!!!!! This is Manchester and as fellow yelpers would testify there is a massive choice for diners and to be honest when it comes to food alone this place falls short of a few places I can think of. As I said the food is ok, and the place is well worth checking out once, but will you return there on a regular basis?? I think not. Oh, and I have no idea who thought it was a good idea to make this brochure that you can pick up on your way out, but it did make me cringe. Awful design and a blatantly staged picture with a rather lairy looking Ryan Giggs with an accompanying caption which read "regular customers" made me just think "school boy error!!!!!!!!" So perhaps its not so much the place, which is great, nor the food, which is not bad. It's just.... it seems the owner put a lot of time, effort and money into the place and left it for a bunch of monkeys to run... But hey I took me madre here on her birthday and she loved it. The ambiance of the place. So much so she didn't really care what the food was like. I imagine that sentiment is echoed quite alot..... So 3*s is about right me thinks...A-ok indeed fellow yelpeeps.. My…read moreflatmate and I set ourselves a challenge - each time we went to Worldwide we would buy an item of fruit or veg which we had never tried before, bring it home, attempt to prepare it and sample it. This led to some rather funny looks at the counter. One one occasion, on asking our Kenyan friend for cooking information, he explained to us that they probably laughed at us because *no-one* buys just one bhindi. We soon learnt from this school-boy error. As well as fruit and veg I always picked up pitta, naan and other foreign breads here, but it's probably not the place to go for a reasonably priced loaf of Warburton's. They also sell exciting fizzy drinks from all over the world, baklava, mango lassi and every herb, spice, bean or pulse you could think of, all of which I can recommend. Things that I have purchased from here and regretted include tinned palak paneer, a tray of 30 very unethical eggs, weird smelling incense, cheese and DIY henna. As a vegetarian I've never looked at the meat counter. But I know that my Muslim flatmate bought her meat there as it is all Halal and my Chinese flatmates bought their meat there because they sold all the disgusting-sounding parts of animals that they liked to boil up in stews, such as chicken feet. I challenge you to visit Worldwide and not to come away with more than you went in for. Even the fruit and veg is priced so that you end up with 3 cucumbers (£1) rather than the one (50p) you went in for!

Remember that it's not only Indian restaurants in Rusholme. Okay, so most of them are curry houses, and that's reflected in the fact that Worldwide Foods is mostly Indian, but you're just as likely to find your Turkish flatbreads or your Jerk seasoning here as you are your Patak's pastes and poppadoms. But you'll find so much more. As I found out far too late on the way out, there's a massive fresh produce fruit and veg stall at the back. There's also a Halal butchers, and tons of stuff you've probably never heard of. We picked up some unusual little treasures like miniature crisp puri breads with cumin seeds, like tiny poppadoms, sweet buns made with sesame seeds and egg, and crumbly shortbread-like biscuits with coconut and topped with chopped pistachio and almonds. In fact, if you're as unfamiliar with ethnic sweets as I am, you may well spend most of your time in the cookie aisle to pick up new treats. As well as this there are additional niche items like rose syrup (for faluda methinks), tropical drinks, every kind of Bombay mix you can think of, canned goods and tons of pulses and rice... just do what I did and explore. It's so much fun. Worldwide Foods is nothing short of a culinary adventure!
