Situated in Spiningfields and part of the same company as Australasia, Grand Pacific is simply AMAZING!! We had Asian high tea. This included a selection of different Sushi, exotic dishes, spring rolls and more. My favourite was the pigeon dish. Then to follow, we had a selection of cakes and to finish off we had Asian tea. This place is on my top 5 amazing eateries, I was blown away my the taste and quality and have not got a negative thing to say. Everyone must visit. There is also a vegetarian high tea option too which looked and tasted equally as good. A glass of champagne was also included. The Asian high tea was £25 per person but well worth the money. I liked it so much I'm going back next week!

Stopped off here for a quick drink after food. They had a good selection of beers and drinks available and didn't have to wait long to get served. A nice touch was a live sax player on our entrance into Grand Pacific although this stopped shortly after we sat down, Wish I had got there a little earlier. The outside areas was nice but very hot in the evening. They had the heaters turned up way to high for my liking... wasn't expecting to feel clammy... sat outside... towards the end of November. I didn't feel the Grand Pacific had a great vibe, although maybe it's just not my scene... not that I have a scene... I'm an individual... ** Insert sheep noise here ** After reading other reviews on the place I feel like i visited a different bar... I think I'm going to have to go back again and give it another shot.

Came here for a bit of a celebration lunch with work on a Friday, which for some reason at 1pm was absolutely dead. As in, the 6 of us were literally the only ones in the place. Anyway, that was possibly the only bad thing about it. The interior is amazing- it looks quite Grecian, and definitely gives off that premium feel that it intends to. It's actually joined with Australasia, so it keeps up with the luxe feel of its neighbouring bar/restaurant too. It's fairly pricey- the cheapest bottle of prosecco was about £30, and the tapas style lunch menu started with small plates at approx £7 upwards. But when the food comes, you can see why. I had a mixture of Japanese/Thai style tapas plate such as fried pork and rice in batter, duck sticky buns, beef salad, and a fish curry with jasmine rice. The actual names of the dishes were much more exotic than I just reeled off, but I can't quite remember what they were called! The duck was by far the best- it was so sweet and a lovely texture, and filling enough on its own! The beef was also delicious, to say I don't usually opt for red meat when I eat out. Just a very nice fine dining place to eat if you want a bit of class and luxury. If you like Pan Asian style food and lots of sharing options, then you'll love it here. Just a shame the emptiness let it down!

The food is classed as pan asian which is great as I love all asian food. However, the sushi, although very good, I feel it is slightly overpriced for what you get. The duck, especially at lunch, is amazing value though. Plenty for 2 to share. This is definitely a place to try out if you love asian food.

My first visit to Sakana and I was pleasantly surprised at how its interior looked (more so the delicious smells wafting over as you passed by their open kitchen). We were seated in a corner with decent views of the goings-on, and set about conquering the menu - the group was almost military in its tactics, dividing the menu's sections between ourselves to make sure we got to sample lots of different dishes. Three of us ordered a bottle of their house red (a Merlot) which was actually quite good - a bit on the peppery side but I really liked it. The food started to arrive after a bit of a wait, but we'd had some prawn crackers to whet our appetite. The sashimi platter that I ordered for us all to share was a bit disappointing (usual price £28 for 15 pieces). I can't think of anything else that was particularly underwhelming; the combo of orders was all rather good - but the highlights for me were the Taiwanese buns which you could have with shredded duck or pork belly (we ordered both). These were absolutely heavenly, for want of a better word. Service was friendly, if not a tad haphazard at times; it's definitely somewhere to consider for date night. That being said, you'd have to be happy 'flashing the cash' as I don't think it's worth the full price they'd ordinarily be charging diners.

Or perhaps they don't need to and it is just a play pet project for the owners who also own Seamark (the building next door) Hulme is not a nice area and it really is an odd place to have a restuarant such as this, bit out the way and not a place I recommend for a nice stroll. The decor is great and they spent millions of pounds designing it, so you will certainly be in awe of the place. However the food is not so grand. It is by no means bad but come on!!!!! This is Manchester and as fellow yelpers would testify there is a massive choice for diners and to be honest when it comes to food alone this place falls short of a few places I can think of. As I said the food is ok, and the place is well worth checking out once, but will you return there on a regular basis?? I think not. Oh, and I have no idea who thought it was a good idea to make this brochure that you can pick up on your way out, but it did make me cringe. Awful design and a blatantly staged picture with a rather lairy looking Ryan Giggs with an accompanying caption which read "regular customers" made me just think "school boy error!!!!!!!!" So perhaps its not so much the place, which is great, nor the food, which is not bad. It's just.... it seems the owner put a lot of time, effort and money into the place and left it for a bunch of monkeys to run... But hey I took me madre here on her birthday and she loved it. The ambiance of the place. So much so she didn't really care what the food was like. I imagine that sentiment is echoed quite alot..... So 3*s is about right me thinks...A-ok indeed fellow yelpeeps.. We were sat next door to Tampopo so it was the obvious choice. We were seated straight away and considering it was half 9 it was relatively busy! We were served by a devil (halloween themed) and considering the outfit the server was lovely. We ordered a bottle of fizz and a coke, the soft drink did get lost on route however was soon rectified. I opted for the duck dumplings to start and pitting them against Wagamamas own I was left slightly disappointed. The dumplings had a sticky texture and weren't quite full to the brim with duck and didn't have much of a taste alone but needed a good dip in the soy sauce to add flavour. For my main I opted for the chicken katsu curry (I was hungry!) It arrived promptly and was a super tasty combo of sticky rice, deep fried chicken with a mild curry sauce. I would say it was on par with Wagamamas version even served with the same side salad topped with ginger. I wouldn't come here for a special occasion but its perfect for a quick and reasonable dinner!

I have to give Ziya a 5-stars because they worth it!…read more Last time I walked through currymile I saw Ziya been an unique grill house in curry mile because of the modern decoration and fancy looking venue they have. I immediately marked down this place. The weather was so good this afternoon so I decided to pay a visit with my friend. I arrived at 6:15 and it was totally empty inside, and we were the only table they served tonight. Which was a very first time for me but I think it was enjoyable because I can have my own time with my friends. I had Passion fruit and mango mocktail and I recommended my friend to try lassi since its signature drinks, my friends really enjoyed it and would like to try again next time. For starter we had Salmon Takki and Lamb chop. Both were very very delicious. Salmon was fresh and cooked perfectly. The marinate was indeed spot on. Lamp chop was a highlight as well. It was tender and juicy. I would definitely recommend this for every meat lover. For main course we had Chicken xacuti, it was recommended by the waitress. The flavor was very rich and quite spicy for me though, but it went well with the freshly made roti so I can manage the spice. But for chicken dish, it is very hard to cook it right because its very easy to be overcooked and taste dry. I can't say ziya makes perfect chicken curry, but it wont disappointed you much. Maybe try some lamb and seafood curry? Overall, Ziya gave me a very great impression, not only the food they serve but also the friendly staff as well. I really enjoy their beautiful venue and chilling atmosphere. Would revisit soon!
