We stopped here on the way to the airport and were immediately amazed with the customer service. John and Brady were phenomenal. We ordered the small Italian club with Chicken cutlet and the Vittorio. We also got a large Muffaletta with the olive salad on the side, pesto chips, mixed pickled veggies salad and a cannoli. We wanted to change since we were going to the airport so we had to use the restroom. That's where we encountered John. He is such a lovely man. He was so sweet and I enjoyed our conversation. My sister was throughly impressed with Brady's customer service. He made her feel at home and was very friendly. All of our food was good. They devoured the veggie salad on the car ride to the airport and we ate some of the sandwiches too. The portions are big and you can share. The 3 sandwiches we got were plenty for our family of 6 plus leftovers. Rossi Rosticceria Deli 45 S Clover St Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 (Review 50 in 2025 and 893 overall)

I work in town every now and then. On a cold Friday afternoon, I found this spot after a quick Yelp…read moresearch. It is located on a back street with not much activity, and I was able to find parking quickly, which is key when you are on a work break. As soon as I walked in, the smells and sights of an authentic Italian deli were exactly what you hope for. There is a menu with plenty to choose from and a pastry case that I already know I will be coming back to try next time. I went with the Blue Ribbon panini, and in about ten minutes I had a hefty sandwich wrapped and ready to go. When I sat down to eat and picked it up, it did not disappoint. Chicken cutlet, ham, honey mustard, roasted tomatoes, Swiss cheese, and great bread. Everything blended together perfectly. On the first bite, the chicken cutlet burned my mouth in the best way possible. The tomatoes and honey mustard tied it all together and made it incredibly satisfying. I could only eat half because it was such a heavy sandwich. My dad finished the other half and shared the same appreciation for a really good panini. The next time I am working nearby, I know exactly where I am going, and I will definitely be trying the cannoli and the black and white cookies. 5 out of 5 stars.

I ordered a western omelette and it was delicious--perfectly cooked and really hit the spot. Safe to say this is officially my new go-to spot. Highly recommend!

Wow. I LOVE little places like this. We tried to stop by Big W's after a hike, but found it closed…read more (Poor planning on my part! Big W's is closed Monday and Tuesday.) Like time and tide, my children wait for no man when they are hungry, so I popped a few doors over to Ben's Deli to see what we could grub before they self-destructed. Ben's is an unassuming little place, which has been open since something like the 60s, with a small breakfast and lunch sandwich counter, a basic, but clean little area to eat, and the nicest staff around. I picked up two hot dogs and an order of fries for the Gremlins and they groaned in delight while eating them. They're used to me slipping them healthier Applewood Farms products and ask me suspiciously each time they're presented with a dog: "Is this the healthy kind or the good kind?" Ben's definitely purveyed the good kind. :) Snappy casing, juicy, with just the right amount of ketchup squeezed on per request. Crinkle fries were well fried and not-greasy. Since everything was made to order, it took a little bit of time, and I went out to check on the kids in the car. The lovely lady womanning the counter -- basically sunshine embodied in a human being -- offered to bring out the food when ready. Right by the door, there's a little ice cream case selling bars of kulfi. Can't wait to stop back in for those. Fancy food this is not, but I think my kids enjoyed their meal more than I enjoy some meals at Per Se.

There's a counter you stand at with a hot bar and a cold bar and you order there - then pay at the register where there is an assortment of desserts. Very friendly English speaking service. Let me say that I have never seen rolls as large as the one's they use -- absolutely HUGE! Just gigantic torpedo rolls! Now I only ever have breakfast or lunch here on occasion but I watch and see what these ladies are doing back there. Everything is being made fresh on the premises! Everything! Sometimes the smells are overwhelming in there with all of the cooking, different flavors and meats cooking! Bottom line: if you like Latin and or Spanish food/deli/hot buffet -- well, this IS the place. Excellent prices and generous portions! Surprisingly lousy coffee! Truly a take-out place.
