Specialty variety combo - Sweet & Sour Almond Chicken
    Michelle R.

We decided to try this place for Chinese food while we were in the Ogden area . It had good reviews . We ordered the Specialty variety combo dinners . This came with egg drop soup , tempura shrimp , cream cheese crab wonton, egg roll , ham fried rice , 4 sweet & sour chicken & what ever main entree item you choose . I chose the almond chicken . I didn't realize it was a sweet & sour sauce that was over the top of it . It's good but a heavy sweet sauce - the same sauce that is on the sweet & sour chicken . It doesn't have almonds on top of it there is something on top of it but not sure what it is . The chicken is super tender & good . The ham fried rice is really good also . The egg roll & shrimp are really good although they could be hotter temperature. The sweet & sour chicken is really good all white meat . I was not a fan of the soup . I love egg drop soup but this had a lot of chicken & noodles in it . It mostly tasted like chicken noodle soup . My husband got the chicken lo mein noodles they were very flavorful with broccoli, peppers & onions & celery . He loved the cream cheese crab wontons . Although there was very little crab in it . The waitress was super nice & friendly. They do have Pepsi products . I would eat here again . I recommend it ! The portion size is good .

Now I see why Wing Wah was voted number one Chinese in Northern Utah. My wife has been trying to get me to come here for some time, She grew up in Ogden and came here all the time with her mom. This place has been in business for over 30 years. I'm glad we came because everything was really good. This is what we tried : The egg drop soup and sweet and sour soup was killer. The Pao Pao Tray, the presentation is great, it's basically a sample variety of all of the most popular appetizer dishes. If you want something sweet and spicy and garlicky try the general TSO's chicken! It was very flavorful. The Chicken and garlic sauce is cooked in garlic black bean sauce. Where the asparagus is flash fried it really locks in the Crunch! This was one of my favorite dishes. The Honey plum pork is bomb, it looks like sweet and sour pork. & it has a zingy taste. The glazed Honey walnut shrimp was also really yummy. I enjoyed the sweet, creamy sauce and big walnuts. The seafood sizzling platter is shrimp scallop calamari and crab mix with vegetables in a light garlic sauce, it came out sizzling . This was also a good choice. Shrimp fried rice Shrimp lo mein & Vegetarian delight Oh and you have to save room for their desserts. The S'mores cheesecake wontons Fresh strawberry cheesecake wontons Apple cheesecake wontons with a caramel drizzle...... ohhhhhhhhhh my are they good I can't even pick a favorite you gotta try all 3 .

I was a bit disappointed! The service was wonderful! Loved the staff! They had a fun fish tanks too! Very chill vibes inside the restaurant. Unfortunately the food didn't match my expectations. I paid about $16 for the Lo Mein specialty dinner combo. There was only 4 pieces of meat, and the fried rice was a little bland. The one fried shrimp, egg roll and wanton followed suite for flavor (but were fried well). Also, no fortune cookie??? That was sad! Did enjoy the little lemon candies though. Oh oh oh and if you're looking for americanized Chinese food DON'T GET THE CHOW MEIN. My husband ordered it. You know the chow mein noodles you put to too salads that you buy at the grocery store? Like the little inch long crispy things? Thats what it was! Not worth it!! But the soup on the side was fantastic. Only thing that actually lived up to my expectation. Also, google says they close at 9:30 but they actually close at 9. They were still happy to serve us when we showed up at 8:45

This is supposed to be a managers response.

I normally don't ever have a problem with this restaurant. They are one of the few that provides gluten free options for my daughter. Tonight I had picked up my food as normal. Got home gave my kids there food only to find not one piece but several strands of black hair. Called the restaurant to report it, they had me text the manager a picture and all they had to say was sorry but we don't have anyone with that hair. The hottest and a server from whom I witnessed walking around had long black hair. Called the restaurant to actually speak with a manager and they said they dont believe me and hung up on me after i raised my voice. An absolute joke of service and I'm beyond pissed with how they handled the situation.

If you close at 8 maybe you should change your times! Came in about 7:40 with my family on a Sunday night, I checked the time on google to make sure they were open and it said they were open until 9:30 we walk in and pretty much get told to leave because they close at 8. I said "that's not what your times say it says you close at 9:30" we get told because of "COVID" I thinks that's a stupid excuse! If you close at 8 Change your times online! We took our money somewhere else where it was welcome. Will not be back ever awful customer service!! Update: checked their time on their website and it says 9 still not 8.

I have never been to this Chinese place before, a friend and I came in to try everything out, the chicken fried rice was really good as well as the Kung Pao chicken, as well as the beef broccoli was all good. The restaurant was a little hot but they did their best to cool the building with open doors ventilation, the server that we had was so fun and sweet, if you come in you have to see Nancy.

Food was delicious and the service divine. We told them about our wedding and they gave us delicious strawberry cheese wontons that were scrumptious. We will be back!

Two "family" sides of rice in this container smaller than my hand.

A birthday surprise I'll never forget!…read more This restaurant came highly recommended by a former employee, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. From the moment we sat down, everything impressed us. I tried a mezcal cocktail for the first time, the blueberry mezcal, and it was incredibly unique, smoky, slightly sweet, and just overall delicious. For food, we ordered the corn, poblano tamales, and the chorizo steak burrito. Every bite was packed with flavor. Portions were generous, so much so that we ended up taking leftovers home (always a good sign!). But the true highlight of the evening? The birthday celebration. Our waitress asked if we were celebrating anything, and I casually mentioned a birthday at the end of the month. She smiled and said, "Leave the rest to me." I had no idea what was coming... Suddenly, the entire bar lit up? iterally. Flames shot up like a volcano erupting, the staff came out with fire, bubbles, and this incredible energy. It felt like a full-on performance. Then came a rich chocolate cake soaked in liqueur that was just as dramatic as it was delicious. It wasn't just dinner, it was an experience. If you're looking for amazing food, creative drinks, and unforgettable celebrations, this place delivers on all of it. We'll definately be back.

I stopped into Xalisco in Ogden on a random weeknight around 8pm and was a little thrown off when I…read morewalked in and the place was completely empty--no customers, no one at the host stand, just crickets. For a second I wondered if they were closed, but someone eventually came out and seated me. That initial vibe had me a bit concerned, but I stuck it out. I started with the chips, corn, and guacamole, which was decent, nothing mind-blowing but fresh enough and got the job done. The Cadillac Margarita ($20) was a disappointment though. It was basically a glass of ice with way too much lime juice dominating everything; I could barely taste the tequila. The Michelada was better, solid and refreshing, and the service was about the same: friendly and attentive enough once they got going, but nothing standout. But holy smokes, that asada stuffed burrito saved the whole meal. The asada was ridiculously tender, perfectly seasoned, and packed with flavor. Juicy, smoky, melt-in-your-mouth beef wrapped in a solid burrito. That one item alone made me glad I came. Overall, the place has some hits and misses. If the asada is what you're after, it's worth it. Just maybe skip the Cadillac marg and don't expect a lively atmosphere on a slow night. I'd go back for the burrito.
