Why would they wait an hour and a half before ordering our food? Stupidity that's is why! Then the guy on the phone asked us if we still wanted the food and needless to say we said no but before we finished our response of no, he hung up on us. So disrespectful and definitely unprofessional. This is not the first time we have had difficulty either. They don't even check to make sure all the things you've ordered are in the bags before they deliver your food then argue with you about a refund because they don't want to lose money. As a professional working in the business world, I'm not sure how this service is still up and running when they do not take pride in providing adequate service. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY (it shouldn't even be called a company)! If there was a way I could give NO STARS, I would.

We met and discussed options and made a down payment for her services. We gave her time to heal and get through PT but now, a year after paying our deposit, we still have not gotten it back. We also no longer get responses to emails or txts. She offered great suggestions and help us to find a great option within our budget when the party kept growing in guests. Communication was great through the planning period and she arrived early to deliver the food. She even helped out with a few other non food related tasks when we didn't even ask her to do so. The food was OUTSTANDING! The absolute best catered food I have ever had. The food was very flavorful, beautifully presented and high quality. Guests raved about the food and a few went back for seconds and thirds. Having owned an event planning company and worked on planning many events that required catering service, I must say that Center of the Plate is the best I've ever worked with and apparently a best kept secret of Lansing.

I get there give her my name and the hostesses says they're working on my food and practically chases me out of the restaurant. Which as Bravos Italian kitchen was open and near capacity by the way. So as I left I asked if I should honk as I return with my car - she chuckled. Of course i sat there for the the next 15 minutes awaiting my food in the car until I finally called the BeastBurger national headquarters who promptly forwarded me along to the Lansing restaurant. Without any apology or concern. As I expected the hostess who took my name didn't realize when my food was ready until after I called from HQ and she realized it was ready. Rushing home I excitedly opened my hot burger. It was a pile of greasy mush. starving to death I barely managed to choke it down. My wife finished a third of hers and offered the 2/3 to me and I was unwilling to eat it. The Mr. beast style fries are covered with cheese, ketchup, mayo and mustard and grease. Of course they became a Mushy orgy of blah moist potatoes. Had the fries been cooked a little more they would've been at least edible but for the smell of fish oil which was nearly unbearable. Same undercooking with the burgers. Red on the inside. I eat medium rare steaks but not burger. for me tonight.

Everything was a bit cold, but I expected that after the drivers 6 mile drive. So not a deal breaker. Things went further downhill when I realized I got a Regular Sandwich instead of hot. And the burger was just "ok." Loaded fries were decent but are honestly something I could make at home. As icing on the cake I did not receive a drink. Looking for some good burgers and sandwiches? You'd have better luck in the drive through.

First off, they kept stringing the driver along on when the food was going to be ready, and by the time it got out, it was all cold because of how long it was out. But it still got here, we were going to have a late dinner, but... instead of one of the sandwiches and the fried pickles, we got, instead... a note. "We're out of the Cuban. Please call blahblahblah. Sorry." My roommate has to be up in six hours for work, and you can't even just message the driver to have them tell us to pick something else or something? My roommate had to sacrifice her own dinner so the other could eat and I'm here scrambling to find her something hot and still open for delivery. Management was zero help- they immediately tried to chuck the Grubhub driver under the bus as "it's hard to get in contact with people who order about stuff like this and oftentimes the drivers end up dropping the orders because of it". You didn't even try, guys. You could have saved this with a text message or a phone call and you couldn't even do THAT. My roommate can't eat a "sorry" note, guys. After some talking, management authorized a full refund, which I suppose is the least they can do about this, and Grubhub also refunded the price of the sandwich and a five-dollar voucher for all the trouble. Do NOT order from this place. Save your time, your money, and your sanity. Go somewhere, anywhere else.

What's Good This is the kind of place I generally root for…read more Locally owned, attention to ambience and identity, a focused menu that doesn't try to do too much, and an effort to make you feel welcomed. Batter Up Bistro reminds me of several places I've visited in New Orleans with a jazz trio playing ragtime as I enjoyed brunch and maybe a midday Hurricane cocktail. The interior is rustic chic while still being warm and inviting and I really enjoyed the beverages I ordered. The Apple Crisp Latte ($8) I ordered for my breakfast visit was hot and made me feel even more cozy. Apple simple syrup paired with house coffee blend and oat milk with notes of cinnamon was very pleasing to the palette without been blown away by apple flavor. The Baron ($15) was a pre-dinner cocktail with whiskey, ginger beer & liquor, almond bitters, and a hickory smoked finish. It was strong, but not breathtaking, a well-balanced flavor profile. What's Really Good Dinner service was suitable even if a bit slow, especially given the few diners that were also in attendance that evening. The bar tender was also waiting tables and while he was capable and hospitable, he clearly had too much on his plate running the front of house solo. I started with the Sea Scallop appetizer ($17). Three substantial scallops with a dill forward dusting sit atop a lovely, creamy parsnip puree. The puree was slightly sweet and the microgreens that were likely intended more as a garnish offered a nice textural note. The scallops were cooked uneven if I'm being honest where only one out of the three had a desirable brown crust and the other two were grayer. Dinner went up several notches with the Pan-seared Salmon ($32) which I ordered blackened. The fish was tender and flaky, and the blackened seasoning was right on target. The salmon paired quite well with the roasted Brussels sprouts, which themselves had a lovely char, and the wild rice. I also appreciated the accompanying blackberries which offered a touch of sweetness without compromising earthiness. Best Bite My first visit was a bit lonely as I was the only patron dining on a Thursday mid-morning. Perhaps the previous day's snowfall had scared others away, but I was itching to get out and about finding the breakfast selections a respite from winter's doldrums. I ordered the Eggs Benny ($20) with perfectly poached eggs atop their delightful house baked toast which was dense enough to hold up the thinly sliced ham, eggs, microgreens, and herbaceous hollandaise sauce. The sauce was rich and creamy with a pleasant punch of lemon and dill. The dish is served with garlic and herbed red skin breakfast potatoes and they were a hit. Also, a star was the side of thick cut bacon ($8) which was smokey and a perfect medium cook. Chef Cari came out to express her gratitude for my visit, which only made me wish more folks had joined me that day.
