Pleasantly surprised........ I decided to give this place a go because I read several reviews about how it's been here in Anderson for quite some time and is really pretty tasty. I ordered the pork fried rice and black pepper chicken (comes with white rice). Both were very good in flavor and quality, was hot and fresh. The amount of food I received blew my mind... not used to actually getting what I pay for these days but boy that is really a "thing" at this place. I do wish I would've asked for light peppers and onions, in the chicken. The owners have a great sense of humor. It was ready within 20 minutes. And they seem to be handling COVID pretty well. Not being a local, and living out of state, finding a good Chinese restaurant at times can be very difficult. On a hunch, and based on recommendations from family members I gave wing on inn a chance. I ordered the pepper steak chicken fried rice and some eggrolls. Being that COVID-19 was in full affect, the order was to go. As I carried the extremely heavy bags to the car I wondered if they had actually put my food in there or a concrete block instead. To my surprise after getting home and opening up the bags, I had over ordered food. The portion sizes are extremely large. I'm not complaining I'm just stating a fact that one family could order a couple entrées and share them. Or you could feed an army based on the size of each portion. I dove into the pepper steak after sprinkling a little chicken fried rice on my plate and was extremely surprised at the great flavor and tenderness of the pepper steak. Not overly overly spicy not smothered in a thick gravy, just perfect. After eating as much as I could I realized I had not even put a dent in the Styrofoam container. I may have eaten a fourth of the entrée. That includes the chicken fried rice which was extremely well prepared and piping hot. The eggrolls, I've had better, but they were still delicious. Realizing that I was going to be eating Chinese food for the next several days I decided to freeze individual portions in Ziploc bags. About three days after my visit I headed back home with the individual bags in a well insulated cooler. Over the next several weeks anytime I desired Chinese food I pulled out a portion put it in the microwave, revisiting my experience at the restaurant. There's not much left in Anderson that one could write home about, but this restaurant is a staple and deserves to be protected so that future Generations can experience what good Chinese food is all about. I am planning a visit to come back to Anderson later this summer and you can bet the first place I stop will be wing on inn. read more

This review is for Wed April 28, 2021 So because this day was a real humid day my Lady and I did not want to use the stove / oven and make it even hotter in the home, so we decided to order out. Because we had an issue with another establishment's doordash app having issues, we decided to give this Asian establishment a try and see how they are. I honestly thought because they had 4 stars review the food was going to be good, but sadly we had the opposite experience real bad. But sadly we did not have a positive experience as we both ended up sick. So the following items are what we order and or what we got instead: Sweet and sour shrimp Their recipe is not the typical recipe, their breaded shrimp is not crispy like it is suppose to be, but doughy and soft, the sauce is nto very tasty as it is not the normal recipe. General Tao Chicken They gave me over fried orange chicken instead Bora Bora Steak The steak seemed undercooked, and the sauce on it was not tasty at all Pu Pu Platter for 2 The crab ragoon cream cheese did not taste fresh, the crab ragoon was soggy / doughy in other words if it sits for a while it get soft, that is what we got. The ribs were semi tough and the sauce was very spicy, The chicken wings seems as if they were a day old not fresh at all, or maybe they over cook them to where they are too dry, not sure. 2 egg rolls I am unsure how their eggrolls are, as all we got were soggy egg rolls with nothing but cabbage in them. Fried Chinese Donuts These were semi ok, they seems like they were a day old. Because of the issues we had, we did no bother to save the food, we had to throw the meal out. Overall, because you see an establishment with 4 stars or more, that does not always mean anything. I should have did more research on this establishment. From the photos it is looks like a buffet style restaurant, and from the looks of the food, the wrong items, and how the presentation looked, the foods looked and tasted premade. Most buffets let the food sit under a food lamp and this is the impression we got with how our food tasted and looked. Because of this issue, some items may have say out longer than they are suppose to sit out, and in the end got us sick. I got sicker due to my current health already. I suggest the establishment paying closer attention before your food causes others to go to the hospital, or have even worse issues. read more

This place is a diamond in the rough! From the outside you may not know what you're missing. The decor of the place is cool. The food... excellent. The buffet is small but what is there is good and fresh. The service we received was top notch. We never were too excited to go because it just didn't have the appeal but we gave it a shot on a whim and so glad we did. I will be back again. read more

I have never given a review before... this is the worst Chinese food I have ever tried to eat. While the single order of beef broccoli and Rangoon weighed 5 lbs, it was terrible. The Rangoon tasted rancid like the filling soured and the beef broccoli was tasteless. There was a container of yellow liquid in the order that resembled vegetable oil and when you taste it it was similar to thick koolaid, very strange. read more

I ordered my food on-line and went to pick it up and sat for over 45 minutes to get my food. I waited 15 minutes before I left home to go and get it. Not going back. The new owners need to take some lessons from the prior owners. The Yu family would never make you wait over and hour and still not have your food. I'm still waiting. I drove into the parking lot and was taken back in time. A-frame building, lettering on the sign, it was the 1970s again. I stepped into the restaurant, and it was the same. This place had a very old-school Chinese Restaurant look. I decided to try the buffet. I was disappointed to not see steamed rice, but some was quickly brought to my table. The management explained that they don't put steamed rice on the buffet because it doesn't keep well--and they're right. I was probably the only white boy in the place who was eating steamed rice, so better I got it fresh. At first, I was leery of what I would have, the buffet was small, but there wasn't anything blatantly non-Chinese on it. So I took a few different dishes and went to my table. That was when I was amazed. The food had real wok hay! (That's basically "wok breath" or "wok flavor".) There is this trait that food gets when it's cooked in a very traditional Chinese way in a wok. Likewise, the seasoning of everything was very Guandong (Cantonese)--old style. Lots of different flavors but very delicate touch. Finaly, the chicken was real velvet chicken. Everything was quite good. Vegetables were not overcooked or tough. Even the sweet and sour was old school ("white" not "red"). I was pleasantly surprised and intend to go back. read more

Well the selection wasn't that big and it's pretty small and cozy. I went during lunch hr. Now I'm just giving my honest opinion, I won't be going back. The food was below average. Imagine in a land far, far away there was a woman and child traveling. They passed many places and choose Wing On. The parking lots was full, so they took that as a good sign. They walked in the door and was seated in a booth. As the mothers eyes looked around, she saw filth and a "buffet" with a total of around 8 pans of half filled, dry food. At this point mother and son was stuck in this nightmare. Well, what is the worst that can happen? They got them a plate and their drinks and dove in. To say the best part of their meal was the drinks is an understatement. How do you mess up egg drop soup, the mother pondered? They tried to eat what was on the plates...however they did not finish. Mother asked for the check and was shocked at the price for nasty food, but paid, and tipped server. now, on this hour drive home, the burps and stomach rumblings begun....the poor son had to roll down window due to gagging from the wretched smells from his mother. The poor mother had to drive an hour with her cheeks clenched and pray she did not get pulled over. She was 1 pothole from pooping. This mother was me....I am she. PLEASE BYPASS THIS PLACE IF YOU HAVE TO DRIVE ANY FURTHER THAN 2 BLOCKS. I did make it home, barely, and now am questioning all my life choices. read more

The buffet table is always being filled with food fresh from the kitchen. Also, you have the option of ordering an entree from their extensive menu, my personal favorite is the Wing On Sizzling Steak which is a New York Strip steak grilled and served on a fire-hot plate with mushrooms, broccoli, snow peas, and a brown sauce.
