We recently hosted a surprise birthday celebration at Wine on High, and I honestly can't say enough good things! The event coordinator was so helpful and patient, the bar staff was efficient and extremely kind, and the food was delicious! Everyone had a blast and we will definitely be recommending WOH to anyone looking to host an event or even a night out! read more

One hundred wines for under $25 each, neatly arranged over two floors. Wines are arranged so similar levels of sweetness/dryness are located together, so it's easy to play the "if you liked this, try that" game. Great concept, I must say, and when this place opened, I was thrilled. I went to a wine tasting there, had a great time, chatted with the manager, etc. Learning that it's a corporate chain makes me a little less thrilled with it, but still not a bad place to buy wine. read more

Such a great business! A relative of mine had a surprised birthday party there and the staff did a great job hosting us. The bar was closed for use for a set amount of time for the party. The staff did a great job keeping an eye on people who ignored the "closed" sign and tried to enter the establishment. The wine that was offered on the open tab, was great! I would love to visit again to check out more of their wine selection. read more

This was a great night for my bachelorette party! We had 10 of us in the loft with plenty of room. Our host was super friendly and informative of the wines we were tasting. The food was DELICIOUS and the entire experience was so fun! read more

Wine on High - Wine Bars Near Me - Columbus, Ohio

I've been frequenting Wine on High since it was Vino 100 and wish we still lived in the neighborhood, so we could stop in more often! Many birthdays have been celebrated here and it was my first choice on a location for my birthday party just last weekend (my first in Ohio after a 3.5 year stint in Florida)! All of my guests had a fun time and no glasses were ever empty. Meghan and Carrissa are excellent at what they do! Wine on High is also a great spot to stop in and pick up everyday wines or bubbly for a special occasion! I give Wine on High 10 out of 5 stars!!! read more

We hosted an engagement party here for my boyfriends brother and his fiancé and it was absolutely perfect! Tina and the staff were so quick to reply, were upfront with all costs and capabilities of the venue and when we showed up they had set the entire upstairs area up for us with candles lit and tables covered, we hardly had to do anything else! This has been an unparalleled experience compared to some Columbus venues that let you rent out their space, and holds more (35) than other as well! The price is MORE than reasonable for what you get. I will definitely host another event here. Thanks again Wine on High! read more

Vino 100 is a very nicely laid-out wine shop. It's got a great concept (100 bottles that cost less than $25). It's got a great location. The owner seems like an incredibly nice woman. Even considering all this -- I would never suggest that anyone should ever shop here. Vino 100 carries just a few more than 100 wines at any given time (not all are under the $25 price). In a retail shop, 100 just isn't that many labels to choose from. Secondly, while most of the bottles offered are $25 or less, it should be noted that a vast majority of wine made in the world can be had for less than $20 a bottle. Add to this the fact that I have regularly seen bottles priced lower at competing wine stores. This isn't to suggest that Vino 100 over-inflates their prices, just that they aren't able to offer the same kind of savings that one can find elsewhere. The wine-buying business has a lot to do with what the wholesale price of a wine is, which can change drastically over the course of a year. They have tastings, which is nice, but so do many other wine stores -- and for less than the $2 a pour price that Vino 100 charges. The information displayed for the wines is generally not very useful, and it has been my experience that the staff aren't that knowledgeable about wine. Vino 100 is a good wine store for the armature enthusiast, or someone who generally new to wine. Pros: Location, decor, friendliness of staff Cons: Selection, price, knowledge of staff read more

Wine flights, $12-15 bucks, small intimate seating area and nice bartenders who will indulge you and talk about wine all night...yes this is my kind of place. Then afterwards buy a bottle at a great price, $11 Tempranillo, hellz yeah :-) read more

Wine on high is fantastic! Everyone is wonderful and is perfect for an event. I had a surprise proposal event there recently and everything went off without a hitch. Setting it up was painless and easy. They took all the stress away and managed most everything except the things I needed to make decisions about. Managing an event isn't easy and can take away from a party but with wine on high I was able to enjoy the party and everyone had an amazing night. Tina from taste hospitality group was the lead coordinator and I couldn't have done it without her! read more

I have passed this store by so many times convinced that it was going to be less winery and more of a snobbery. Even though it rarely happens I am really pleased to admit I was wrong. On a Sunday night before cooking a fish dinner my guy and I were depressed that there were no stores open in which to buy a great bottle of champagne. Accepting we were going to have to Asti it yet again I used my 411 to just see if Vino 100 was open. Well, they weren't but the person who answered the phone told us she would be happy to open up for us if we could get there within fifteen minutes. After a little hustle we walked in to the best store we have never been too. Not only did they have my Sofia ( I am a victim of the wrapping of this bottle) but the assistant poured and explained several other choices of the champagne variety. I thought I had one too many tastes because the wines they offer are cheap. Real cheap. But rich in selection and variety. Instead of just one we bought two bottles of champagne being so impressed by the taste. Offering a taste before you buy is such a nice service for a wine amateur like myself. I can't tell you how many times I have been convinced I have picked a smashing bottle only to get home and realize I bought alcoholic vinegar. To aid the novice, the wines are labeled with detailed descriptions. Categorized with a bar graph to display the fruit/dry aspects was the only graph this math loser could understand. The descriptions themselves are pretty simple. They are not set up to sell the wine so much as they are to describe it. Because who really understands what a "vanilla flavor with rich almond tones accented by an old vine grape" is going to taste like in real life? I could pretend that I get that, but 2009 is going to be a year of honesty, and apparently great wines. Vino 100 has this great wine club deal going on. For forty dollars you get two bottles of wine a month and fifteen percent off any non-wine item in the store. Considering the store boasts wines under twenty five dollars, its quite a deal. Plus the store offers weekly wine tastings, bartenders on the weekends, and free pours of just about anything there. Good times! The staff were super nice considering we were there after hours. Josh walked us through both levels of the store and gave us lots of great suggestions. There was no rush, no pressure, just five people chatting about wines after hours on a rainy night. After we'd made our purchases we did a round of introductions and we were told to ask for any of them the next time they came in. Great, personable staff, incredible selection, and a price that's right is going to make Vino 100 my new favorite store. read more

Very comprehensive selection of wines and artisan beers in an airy, well-lit store. Unpretentious and knowledgeable staff, especially Mike & Miss. The upstairs tasting area is a smart idea, with generous pours and good variety. A fan of good, bargain wines, I recommend Vino 100 for your everyday and party needs. read more

I booked the loft at Wine on High for my girlfriend's birthday party. I worked with Tina to secure the space and pre-order food. She was extremely responsive and super helpful in determining the right amount of food to order and a good mix of tastes. The staff in the night of the party, Eric and Jeremy, were great! They were friendly, made great suggestions, and prompt with service. Everyone who attended, to include the birthday girl, lived the space, the atmosphere, the food and beverages, and just had a fantastic evening. I could not have asked for anything more! read more

seriously the best wine shop! for the yelper on the go: 1. price ranges from $6-$50+ per bottle. 2. NOT SNOBBY 3. you don't need to know anything about wine to get a great bottle you'll love. 4. wine bar upstairs. super cute and cozy. i've recently gotten into wine and i have finally graduated from the Kroger wine shopping. i wanted to try new wines and get to understand the flavors, etc. if you are in the same boat as me (a serious beginner to the language of wine) then you MUST go to vino 100. each wine is labeled with meters and once you buy one bottle here, it is so easy to find another you'll enjoy. the staff here is SUPER helpful and patient. She explained wine to me in a way i understood and i didn't feel stupid for asking. she gave great suggestions for pairing the wine i had bought, and pretty much picked out everything for me. they have a wide selection and even a cute little wine bar upstairs. this is such a great place to find CHEAP and GOOD wine. who knew there was more to wine than a clever name or fun label? read more

We went on a Friday night and is was a lot less packed than we expected. We both got the 3 wine flight for $15 and it was the best! I loved that they have the preset flight options but you can also switch something out or make your own completely. Definitely will be going back and will recommend. read more

We just had our Work Christmas Party at Wine on High, and we had a FANTASTIC time! We were able to easily reserve the upstairs loft just for us, had fantastic service (he really kept the wine and water flowing!) and being able to have food brought in was a huge plus. I would definitely recommend Wine on High for anyone looking for a great space to hold a super fun event! I will definitely be coming back! It was a great team building event and a fun way to spend the holiday! read more

Like this place. Tried the flight - good size pour of very good wines. So much so it is tough to chose a favorite. Megan was fantastic - wine knowledgeable without being pretentious. Ask questions - she'll be glad to help. This place is well worth the trip. read more

Wine on High - Flight of 3 reds - Barbera a solid buy! - Wine Bars Near Me - Columbus, Ohio

Great staff who really knows their wine. Josh, the owner is almost always around and picks the wines personally for the flights. A great place to go for Gallery Hop for their wine flights, $10 for 6 downstairs and 10$ for 3 premium wines upstairs. They also have a lot of craft beer as well. read more

We hosted our employee holiday party in the loft area at Wine on High. It was the perfect space for the size of our group, and the ambiance was fantastic. From the booking to the food to the service, the whole team was responsive and a please to work with! My favorite wine shop in Columbus. Not the standard grocery store stuff. Good values, knowledgeable staff, and always something interesting. I love their monthly 20 for $20 tastings. A great way to try new wines. read more

A wine bar done right especially with he awesome wine connoisseur who happened to from Maryland (DMV PRIDE!). There are so many awesome wines they have in stock and boy do they know their shit! Whats even better are the wine flights they offer and I remember seeing something about wine tasting thursday night (or something along those lines) WHATS NOT TO LOVE? read more

Nice place to enjoy a glass or two of wine. Very intimate space not for a big group.

The loft is a cozy place to take time sipping some wine and maybe try the cheese plate! The space is very small with about 5 tables so it could be crowded depending on when you go. I went there Friday night and it was perfectly fine - it was a cold night and not many people were out. I split a bottle of wine off the menu with my boyfriend. You can also choose a bottle from downstairs and they will open it for you with a fee. The bartender was friendly and I will definitely stop by again sometime. read more

We love going to WoH. The prices are affordable and the staff extremely helpful & friendly. We've done random tastings on the second floor as well as the 20 tastings for $20. Both experiences were lovely and we had a great time at both. We live in Short North and this is one of our favorite places to visit. You must stop in during the next Gallery Hop or just because. It's one of those kind of places :) read more

Finally stopped in this place, and I'm glad I did. A friendly, knowledgable woman helped me pick out some wine. I left after a couple tastes with two bottles in my bag that I ended up being very pleased with. Cute space as well. read more

Great place! Good wine and good snacks! Need to dim the lights and maybe a music change. But overall amazing experience and great service.

Wine on High is an excellent stop for grabbing a bottle of wine, wine flight or a craft beer to take home. I usually choose to just pickup some wine to have at home. The staff is friendly and super helpful. I walk in, ask what wine is best for what I'm cooking and have never been disappointed. read more

This is my favorite wine shop in the city. I freely admit that I am pretty lacking in wine knowledge. It's hard to find a not-pretentious wine shop that listens to your needs and meets them so well. The store is laid out so the wines get more full bodied as you go around. They also just added a wine bar on the second level! read more

Hands down, our favorite place to shop for wine and enjoy tastings in the Short North. The small loft upstairs is a nice break from the bar scene...cozy and relaxed. The staff is pretty knowledgeable and not pushy. They have recommended some great wines to us. To be honest, we are the kind of people who shop mainly by the look of the label. So the staff has been able to help us find a great wine, reasonably priced, with a nice label to fit any occasion. read more

Extremely stuffy and over rated. Wine flight of three glasses (probably 1 oz each) was $15.00. Complete bullshit.

I reserved the loft at Wine on High for a bachlorette party this past Sunday. It was so amazing, and the service was top-notch from beginning to end. There wasn't anything that the staff there wouldn't do for us. They catered in a meal for us to have lunch there with our wine tasting. They also got us custom made cookies in our Bride's theme colors, with a special bride and groom cookie in the mix too. We were also looking for a good favor to pass out to our bridesmaids and the bride, and they were able to get us personalized wine charms for each girl. They were responsive, and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure our party was fun and special. Even the TV was tuned to wedding shows! Like I said, top-notch A+ service (and the food and wine was really great too). I will always recommend them for anyone looking for a classy, yet relaxing place to go and have fun with friends! read more

Less food selection than I expected, seems like the menus on Yelp are outdated. The service was less than to be desired and the bartenders didn't seem like they've ever served a customer in their lives. Lighting was bright, chrome, and harsh. Seating was uncomfortable. Not the mood I would have chosen for a wine bar. Liked my wine choice though, only thing that got me through my time in this place read more

Huge wine selection. Their wines that they make available for tasting during gallery hop could be better (half of mine weren't very good), but gotta give them credit for being friendly and available (except one girl. she was a sarcastic sourpuss, but you can get those anywhere) read more
