You guys. If you love beautiful days at wineries and chatting with the nicest people, please visit…read moreEdg Clif. A friend and I had the most delightful time. The scenery is lovely. Arthur was the live music for the day and he played a great variety of songs (acoustic guitar). The wine is fantastic. I do not know a lot about wine, but I do know that each one we tasted (6) was very easy to drink. We shared a bottle there and I brought 2 home. Bonus: you can bring your own snacks (no beverages). I love this. I enjoy planning my own winery snacks. I was bummed when many wineries quit allowing food because they opened kitchens. So if I have to pay $30+ for food. I'm buying less wine. Anywaaaay, make a little weekend out of visiting this area and have a lovely time at Edg Clif. (Photos do not do it justice)

Not only was the wine delicious (check out the "Classic" if you're a red wine person - you won't be disappointed), but the beer was also fantastic (the black Lager - nailed it!). I've only come across a handful of places that can do both well - your entire party will be delighted! With almost 360-degree views of the vines and Mark Twain National Forrest, this is an oasis in the Ozarks!

She did a good job though. Came here for our anniversary, and when making the reservation they ask if it's a special occasion, so we told. They never said anything or did anything special, no big deal but why ask. The first course was delicious bread and butter. And something else I'm forgetting. The one slice of bread they give should have been a warning sign. Between the two of us we ordered everything on the menu. Minus the wine/cockrails, we don't drink. I order a phenomenal lemonade though. I said "holy shit" when I took my first sip. The food was very good but the portions were so small I didn't feel like I could really establish if I liked something or not. It was unique food which is fun but i couldn't tell you if i found something new because there wasn't enough to appreciate it. It was beautifully presented and much of it was really delicious. The desserts especially. By the end of the meal we were both still hungry. It's kind of a rule for me if you're going to go out to a fancy place and spend the money you Really should not leave hungry. I would give this place 1 star for that alone but it's in a small town and I just can't. The peanut butter cookies they talk up at the end honestly felt like kind of a joke they were so small. It was literally someone's thumbprint size. You get one. We both looked at each other and laughed. We had fun but be prepared to go home and make a second dinner. Or there's always Taco Bell.

All of the dishes were interesting, imaginative and well-executed. The ambiance is that of an elite restaurant in a country setting, serving local game as part of its dinners. The service was very, very good: warm but focused on the dining experience.

The crispy shrimp lettuce wraps with cashew sauce...AMAZING! Pork chop was delicious and so was the crab, shrimp &!lobster bisque. I also enjoyed their Ceasar salad and loved that the dressing was different (not your usual anchovy base...thank goodness) Star of the show was definitely the pear drop martini. Highly addictive. I wanted to take more pics but I was so busy enjoying my meal.

The second time, I had the trio of medallions, ordered medium rare and the steak was overcooked, I could barely chew it. Last night was the most frustrating. My boyfriend made reservations, we got there on time to a pretty full (as usual) restaurant. They sat us in a little booth right by the kitchen and the waiter's station. I could understand doing this if we walked in to a full place with no reservation, but in my opinion that booth should be used only as a last resort. There was also an open booth behind us which would have been preferable to the one right by the kitchen. It was really disappointing because we both really enjoy nice food and restaurants, and we couldn't completely focus on each other, totally relax, and I didn't get to enjoy any of the ambiance of the restaurant because I was sat facing the waiter's station and kitchen all night. For people who really take pleasure in good food, service, and the style of a place it was very disappointing. I got the spaghetti and meatballs which was described as having burrata and basil, the main selling point for me, and all I got was a little hint of cheese around the meatballs instead of the glorious ball of cheese and cream I was expecting. The main flavor I got from the spaghetti was red pepper flakes, no basil and no balance of flavors. The saving grace was our appetizer of calamari and the pitcher of sangria. To sum it up, the focus is more on the wine than it is on the food, and their menu is a little too ambitious. If they pared down the menu to focus on quality rather than quantity of items available they could deliver some really excellent food to accompany the wine. I really wanted to like this place but at this price point, I won't be returning for an experience that is just okay.
