Cozy nook in which to drink wine
    Lorna S.

There aren't enough words to describe the love I have for this place. First, let's talk about the town...the Wine and Cheese Co is located in the quaint area of downtown Plainfield, IL. Walking down the street feels like you're on the set of a Hallmark movie. Every time I'm there I'm waiting to see some big city executive woman who came home for the holidays and fully plans on going back home to the city, until she meets a handsome, successful, and wholesome man, who wears plaid, owns the local diner and has a big fluffy dog. He seems to be the complete opposite of her, but when he finally breaks down her hardened walls, she's really just like him. He woos her with his kindness, and rugged good looks, and she winds up staying for good... Alright, alright, let's get back to the restaurant review. The Wine and Cheese Co is just what you'd think it is, a quaint wine shop with an amazing selection of red and white wine, but it's so much more... Every single thing I've ordered to eat has been delectable. From shareables like Chevre Stuffed Dates, Red Wine Meatballs, and Burrata Salad, to Build Your Own Charcuterie boards and BBQ Chicken Flatbread. I can't forget to mention the dessert! Cinnamon Georgia Pecan Cake, Raspberry Mousse Cups, and Goat Cheese Cheesecake are just a few of the desserts they offer. The chef at the Wine and Cheese Co is extremely talented and effortlessly turns every ingredient into a masterpiece.   Did someone say, Wine Club?" Why yes, The Wine and Cheese Co even has a wine club. The selection isn't your typical generic wine. The owners pick out this wine themselves, and trust and believe, they know what they're doing.   Lastly, let's talk about the staff. Friendly, accommodating, and professional are just a few of the words that come to mind when I think of them.

    Bleu cheese cheesecake- phenomenal!

I love it here. Been here several times before but this is the first time trying an eclectic cheesecake. They had 2 kinds on their menu, goat cheese cheesecake and bleu cheese cheesecake. I wanted goat but they were out and 'settled' for bleu cheese but it's friggin amazing so I win!

Such a cute & chill local place, great little patio - little buggy, could be great to meet friends or a date night. White flights and cheese boards all day - wonderful servers! They also have n/a bubbly mocktails, cocktails, etc.

Rustic Grilled Cheese, Spicy Tuscano Flatbread with a bottle of Santomè

I ordered the Rustic Grilled Cheese sandwich and the Spicy Tuscano Flatbread and it was amazing. I paired that with their Santomé - a Prosecco. It was a perfect match!

I have been to Wine & Cheese Co. many times over the years and have always had a great experience each time. The owner has done an incredible job of renovating and redecorating both inside & out with her personal touch. There is an amazing garden outside for the warmer months and the inside is impeccable and cozy in the cooler times. The food is always mind blowingly good and fresh, and they have the most amazing wines with plenty of help to guide you to what you will love. Recently asked them to host a surprise birthday party for my wife and the chef and everyone there went all out - to the nines and beyond, we really couldn't believe how good the food, wine, cheeses and the whole experience was.

    Great wine and charcuterie

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is food portions are TINY but VERY expensive. We went for a "free" wine tasting and ended up spending $100 plus on one bottle of wine and a few bites of food. The meatballs are one biters. You get four for $16? (Four bites @ $4 a bite plus tax and tip)...LITERALLY! Cute place though.

Wine and Cheese Co is simply great. Their wine list is... incredible. The staff is knowledgeable and great. The food offering is vast and I can't wait to go back to really dig into more items. A pleasant surprise right in the heart of downtown Plainfield. The ambiance is very welcoming and I am super super happy with my overall experience of Wine and Cheese Co. 10 out of 10 WOULD recommend.

Tried them again and it was such an awesome experience. Service is fantastic, their wine selection is great and they have outdoor seating. I tried one of their salads yesterday, the Artichoke salad, and it was fantastic!!! Roasted artichokes, fresh greens, fresh Chevre and red onions dressed with a champagne vinaigrette & Cream of Balsamic, then topped with crispy croutons. So simple yet so delicious!!!! It filled me up and I enjoyed every bite! The vinaigrette made the salad and the artichokes were so full of flavor. If I could, I'd go back again to get this salad. I had the wine sangria and it's one of the best sangrias I've had. It's sweet and refreshing and just perfection. Our server was very knowledgeable with the wines and gave us samples of a few to try. They also have wines for purchase to take home. I tried the orange moscato and it was delicious. Took it home and I can't wait to open the bottle. They offer wine tastings which I hope to attend in the future. Great place in a nice little area.

It was 5:45, I didn't have a reservation, a they didn't have a table available until 7:30 but there were spots at the bar which they said was full service. My friend and I cozied up to it and ate there. What a surprisingly good experience. The staff was super friendly and that bartenders had great suggestions. I hate when people at the restaurant say everything is good. Not these young ladies. They made some sound suggestions which we followed. French onion soup and the steak frites were both excellent and priced well IMO. They have a really good whiskey/bourbon selection with a few hard to find bottles. I settled on a Blantons neat. They had Pappy, but I'm not wasting money on that anymore. Food came out quickly and we ate and watched a baseball game. The locals at the bar told us about their membership program where I guess for a small mo they fee you get a bottle of wine and a charcuterie plate once a month. Seemed like a pretty good deal. I don't live anywhere near there, but if I did I'd certainly join. In any case, if you live anywhere close, this is definitely a worthwhile restaurant to visit. Seems like there were quite a few singles there as well if you are looking to meet someone. I have no idea what the dating scene is like in Lemont, but this might be a good spot to try.

Our waitress seemed overwhelmed with the amount of tables she was handling and just overall grumpy. I can understand that doing separate checks for a large group might not be fun, but she just seemed irritable the whole time until we gave her a decent tip. She directed us to get our own water from the self-serve station. I did like that I could do the wine flight from the table vs. they only offer the 6 wine tasting from the bar. I was a little disappointed that no one explained which wine was which, and I was left guessing when I ordered all sweet wines and a couple that looked very similar. When I later wanted to order a glass, I apparently picked the wrong one, but none of them were horrible so that was OK. I also ordered the small charcuterie plate, which was a perfect snack plate. Some of our party ordered flatbreads and wraps, which also looked really good, so I would definitely try this place again. This place doesn't seem like they're that good at accommodating large groups as they only have small round tables they had pushed together, but we made it work. They seemed a bit understaffed for a Saturday afternoon. If you like sweet wines, my favorite was the Sweet Purple Lady, followed by Blackberry. I took a bottle home.
