We ordered the wine flight, and when it arrived, we were informed that they had run out of some of the selections and made substitutions. This should have been communicated to us beforehand. The owner has done an incredible job of renovating and redecorating both inside & out with her personal touch. There is an amazing garden outside for the warmer months and the inside is impeccable and cozy in the cooler times. So good. I love this quaint little spot in Plainfield. They have a great selection of meats and cheeses. Our son had a charcuterie bored ready for us when we arrived. In addition to the meat and cheese, it came with a fig jam that was delicious! I would have brought a jar to take home, but they had run out. I guess other people find it delicious as well! We ordered breakfast food and our meals were good. We also ordered a bottle of wine to bring home. There have several food and wine items for sale. I tried one of their salads yesterday, the Artichoke salad, and it was fantastic!!! Roasted artichokes, fresh greens, fresh Chevre and red onions dressed with a champagne vinaigrette & Cream of Balsamic, then topped with crispy croutons. So simple yet so delicious!!!! It filled me up and I enjoyed every bite! The vinaigrette made the salad and the artichokes were so full of flavor. If I could, I'd go back again to get this salad. I had the wine sangria and it's one of the best sangrias I've had. It's sweet and refreshing and just perfection. Our server was very knowledgeable with the wines and gave us samples of a few to try. They also have wines for purchase to take home. I tried the orange moscato and it was delicious. Took it home and I can't wait to open the bottle. Visited with a small group of coworkers right at the start of the evening. We started with wine flights, which I was unimpressed by the variety of the pre-selected options on the white flight. Personally I felt they all tasted the same and lacked any memorable flavors. The serving glasses were also very small in comparison to other wine tasting experiences I've had, which left lots to be desired. The red selection seemed to have better reviews from my colleagues. We all ordered either pretzel bites or the hot pepper jam and cheese option off the happy hour menu, and both were delicious. The drinks were very good and we also had the lobster bisque. Here is where they fall one star short. While the lobster bisque has a great taste there was absolutely 0 lobster in it. Wine and Cheese by Tcc is situated in quaint downtown Plainfield. It shares the street with one of my favorites MoJoes Cajun and it is immediately next to Capri Sogno which is no slouch. Also, it appears that it will have some more competition very soon( Sovereign & The Spaghetti Bowl). As far as I'm concerned, it should be able to hold its own against any restaurant, especially if it sharpens up a few minor details. Service and menu expansion. Menu expansion to offer new and different shareable plates every season. We were able to get an outside reservation for 7:00 at 6:30 on a Tuesday. We didn't realize the whole street was shut down for a car show! We got to sit right on the sidewalk and the people watching was first rate! I'll go ahead and get my one negative off of my chest... The service staff seemed unprepared and understaffed. Very nice, but long waiting for nearly everything. This is not the servers fault, it is the management. Have an extra server working that you cut if it's slow, simple. So we picked a nice Barolo out of the store and ordered an assortment of cheese and charcuterie that was top notch. The smoked duck breast and the wild morel and leek cheese are not to be missed!! A++ Second course was; flatbread with roasted artichokes, arugula, chèvre and something else. A (careful if you don't like goaty cheese, chèvre is goaty!) I loved it!! Baked Brie with raspberry sauce A (classic ) Salmon Carpaccio. A. They had a wad of fresh mascarpone that made the dish crazy good! The Ambiance, weather, food, wine and people watching deserved 5 stars. I am a bit disappointed in Wine and Cheese, I have been a customer since its beginning, and always loved visiting, but have been a bit disappointed recently. Approximately 3 weeks ago my son and I were in and there was only one person working, she was awesome and so was the food, but I couldn't help feeling sorry for her as she was waiting on us, answering the phone and then obviously trying to open the operation to prepare for business. I get it, the current situation has made operating a restaurant as very difficult. Then on 3/18, my family ordered food and I went to pick up, the gentleman cooking was obviously taking orders the waitress was waiting on the two tables that were occupied and was very pleasant towards me and helping the gentleman preparing food. A lady, whom I assume was the manager, arrived with several bags of fresh items and handed them to the waitress who them took them in the kitchen. The manager retreated to the back of restaurant and got on her laptop, offered no help, no inquiry if anybody needed any help. I walked to the back to look at the wine in her proximity, I was not greeted, was not asked if I could be helped, or even approached in any manner. This is not the experience I ever had before it was sold. I want to support this business, I love the decor, the ambiance, and the staff seems topnotch, and I look forward to sitting outside this summer and having a few glasses of wine, but I really hope the business is not led down the wrong road by the leadership. read more

I was impressed by this little gem on Lockport Ave in Plainfield. This downtown area has many stores and eateries to recommend it and it's really nice to walk around in. We stopped in at TCC for a celebratory lunch. Sat on the very pleasant patio and put our order in. I glanced up at the umbrella and noticed a wasp trap with several live inhabitants. Well, it's that time of year and I know the hazards of outdoor dining in yellow jacket season. Sure enough, when the cheese plate came, with its lovely drizzle of balsamic, the wasps came on settled on the plate and refused to leave. We couldn't enjoy it under those circumstances, so we moved inside. The waitstaff distinguished themselves by quickly easing the transition. So enough about insects. The food is really worth the journey and reasonably priced, to boot. We had the aforementioned Chef's Cheese and Charcuterie Board, subbing out the sopressatta for duck sausage. Three types of cheese, duck sausage, fig preserves, cornichons, crackers and olives. Beautiful presentation. I had the Smoked Salmon Carpaccio, which starred an excellent lox (and lots of it) with capers, onion, greens, and a lovely portion of mascarpone, all set to pile on the warm loaf of french bread. We shared a Red wine flight, with generous pours of Tempranillo, Cabernet, and Shiraz. They were all appropriately light selections for summer. All in all, we were impressed with the service, quality, and selection. The inside is super cute too with cozy seating areas and high top tables. Not bad but have been to better cheese places. We got a special cheese plate that came with Olivia and hummus and it was missing something sweet. It was so overwhelmingly salty so we got some side fig spread which made it perfect. I feel like most cheese places know how to make the perfect combo. For my meal, I got a watermelon salad and the BLT. The salad was decent and the BLT was good but I didn't get how it was related to cheese in any manner. I was extremely disappointed when i was charged $15 for the sandwich of the day which didn't include any sides, so I paid another $2 for the chips. I told myself that it would be the best sandwich I ever had so not to worry about the price. Well I'm highly disappointed. The bread was dry, the meat was insignificant, there wansnt a stitch of Parmesan cheese like she said and the pickles on the side were pretty close to rotten.
