What a great place! We stopped in for dinner on the way home from a road trip, so happy we did. The staff was awesome! We were on the tail end of a dinner rush and they handled it great. They were friendly and courteous and checked on us frequently. I ordered the wedge salad and pretzel bites with beer cheese. The salad was great. It was fresh and the perfect size. The bleu cheese dressing was creamy and so delicious. The pretzel bits were as expected, and the cheese had good flavor, but was warm not hot. It was a little chunky, but I still ate it all. LOL! The in-laws ordered the nachos. They are not your traditional nachos. You get a choice of meat, brisket or pulled pork. They chose brisket. And you get to choose between fries or pork rinds and they chose pork rinds. They liked them. I didn't try them. They also liked the duck wontons. Hubby had the pulled pork sandwich and fries. It was pretty good. I loved the fries. I think they were hand cut, but I could be wrong. We had a great dinner! read more

I went to Windy Peaks Brewery as they were on my list for quite some time. They open in the evening so plan your meals and any beer sampling accordingly for that. The atmosphere inside is pretty cool. I just wanted to try one of their beers and then resume onwards to the north so I didn't get anything to eat here. I got some of their Prohibition Blonde Ale which was good. Flavor features with this was an essence of peach, sweetness, juicy and fruity. The beer was light bodied, exactly what I was desiring and enjoyed. I was eager to take a canned beer home with me but alas their machinery that did this particular task was broken so hopefully that gets resolved for those who want to take beer home with them. read more

Great Windy Peaks Burger with beer cheese for $15! Phenomenal fries... I could use less seasoning but I love hand cut gooey fries without batter! The coconut prawns/shrimp were tasty but really overpriced. $14 for 6 shrimp... I'm used to more but I'm from a bigger seafood city. You know I understand being busy , when serving the public you really need to put your best food forward. We tried this place due to reviews and alas will most likely not be back . Drinks and service right away were fine. The pretzel bites were a good start. Now it was time for the entree. Spinach artichoke dip and chips, ribeye steak baked potato. The dip was hard to get on the chip because it was cold usually hot when served not that night. Baked potatoes was not even hot enough to melt the butter. The steak was under cooked tried med rare but was more blue. A cold meal no fun. Try if you like but hope your experience is better than ours read more

We had dinner here with some friends. The place is really nice and I would be giving it 5 stars if it wasn't so loud inside. It was really hard to hear across the table. We made reservations and our table was waiting when we arrived - LOVED THIS!! The service was super friendly and though they were busy running we always had what we needed. Great job! Food was good - we had the Alfredo, chicken strips, Mac and cheese, and a burger - everyone was really happy with their choice. We would definitely be returning - a little expensive but everything is now days. For 5 people we spent around $130 with tip. I wish I had snapped some photos but will do next time read more

Walked in after an afternoon for hiking. My husband got a brisket sandwich that he was very unimpressed with. I had a seasonal salad; it was just a salad. So it was just that. There was a bit of confusion. We were seated by one. Drink order taken by another. Food order by yet another. If we had waited until the original server, we were told was our server, would have helped us we would have been waiting for over 30 minutes. She seemed miffed when she finally stopped to help us and we told her someone else came to help us. The restaurant was clean, quiet and comfortable. The servers were very friendly and the food was delicious! The only problem is is that it's a long drive from Illinois to Wheatland, Wyoming. I highly recommend it to anyone traveling through that area. read more

The food is delicious. The service was great as well. I ended up picking a few merch items to use in my home bar!

For starters, the wait staff acted as though customers reside in a different dimension where they are unable to see them. I was not greeted at all when I walked in, I walked up to the wait station and after waiting a couple of minutes for her to notice me I asked if customers seat themselves. She replied "oh yea sit anywhere you like". I chose a table less than six feet from the wait station, I waited 15 minutes for someone to ask me if I had been helped ( all the while I watched four different waitresses walk by me repeatedly, completely ignoring me). Finally the initial waitress that I talked to asked if I had been helped, I replied no and inquired about a lager on tap, she stated she would give me a sample. The waitress brought the sample out immediately, I told her I would like a glass and also placed my full order. Eight minutes later the wedge salad I ordered arrived at the table, the beer I ordered was no where in sight. I did notice a beer sitting on the bar and wondered if it was mine. The wedge salad was akin to something of my adolescent children would have constructed as a joke. The bottom part of the wedge was brown in parts. I cut out the less desirable areas. As I ate this poor presentation of a salad I continued to watch the beer I had ordered get warm on the bar counter. I watched as multiple waitresses saw the ticket and realized it wasn't their customer and just left it, the bartender also never seemed to care that a customers beverage was assuming room temperature this whole time. After consuming the edible parts of the wedge salad, the hamburger sliders I ordered arrived. The waitress asked if I needed anything else and I reminded her of the beer I ordered almost a half hour ago... she apologized and went and got my room temperature beer. I requested medium on the sliders. They were burnt on the outside and raw on the inside, I am not averse to rare but after consuming half of a slider, I couldn't bring myself to finish the rest for fear of an ER visit. I don't think wheat land has an ER. I asked for the check, the waitress asked if I would like a box to take this disgusting excuse for food home with me. I normally like to poke the bear but it was prom night in this town and I didn't want to cause a scene. The bill and box came, I paid the bill and left everything on the table, I don't care to take disgusting food home with me and I don't drink beer that assumed room temperature. I was excited to eat here, total shame that everything was so bad. Will NEVER eat here again or recommend it to anyone. read more

A gem hidden in rural Wyoming. A well rounded craft beer list, including in-house brewed Windy Peaks Lola hoppy blonde ale. A very balanced beer with just a slight hops finish. When we arrived about a dozen locals were standing around patiently for the place to open. Good sign in my book. The food menu is widely varied, with creative choices like brisket-topped pork rind nachos. Yes on pork rind and it's a home run! Inspired appetizer! The coconut shrimp is served with the best dipping sauce that blows mango or pineapple sauce away. Steaks were done exactly as ordered. The decor is so Wyoming and everyone was fun and helpful. It is a full steak restaurant and brewery that does not skimp. If you ever get up to Wyoming for ANY REASON come here!!!! read more

Literally the only place with decent food in town. Nice, friendly staff. Saw complaints about service, but I had great service and the food was good. I travel for work and when I come here I bring a hot plate and a ton of food to cook for myself. Best Western has grills and I mainly cook my own meals here, but this Brewery is great. Our party of 4 had the NY strip, pulled pork, and a burger. Everything was outstanding! Excellent steak and potato very well seasoned and prepared. The burger was ordered by our tough sell foodie.... he said it was the best burger he's ever had! Quite a compliment to the chef tonight. We were welcomed and fed with outstanding service and food. Stopped by on a Tuesday night taking respite from a windy drive on I-25. Not much of a beer drinker so I can't review those but they had a lot of interesting and descriptive choices. The waitress was friendly and helpful . I got the filet though they had a number of less expensive choices but I'd been seeing that steak on the billboard by the highway for a number of years and I had to try it. The steak was flavorful and cooked just as I asked. It came with garlic green beans and mashed potatoes . All very tasty. Here for a baseball tournament and glad to see this brewery. We were cooked from the day so had Moscow Mules, ginger beer was extra spicy and good. Tried the fried cauliflower, which was breaded. I prefer pan fried, but still good. Had a Rueben and a Brisket sandwich. Brisket was spicy sweet and delicious. The mood was a little subdued for a brewery on a Saturday night, mellow music included. We got stuck in Wheatland, WY due to a winter road closing. The silver lining was that we found the Windy Peaks Brewery. We had the salmon and the ribs, both deliciously prepared. Our server was interesting and efficient. He was happy to discuss the beers with my husband who concluded that they have a talented brewmaster. I had a wonderful chocolate torte for dessert, complete with whipped cream and fresh raspberries. Next time we pass through Wheatland, we'll definitely stop at the Windy City Brewery. read more

We really enjoyed our food. We had the shrimp (fried with a spicy sauce as they were out of coconut), shared the brisket sandwich and then I couldn't resist a brownie for dessert. Our server was friendly but also very busy. We heard the Mexican place was closed and the golf course was busy as the high school rodeo was in town. There were three tables (four tops) reserved for a group that never showed and a big party in the back. We waited awhile for a table but that's alright. We are from a rural community and understand how those things go. One suggestion: encourage your staff not to avert their eyes and look down when they get close to where people are waiting to be seated. A friendly "get to ya when I can, we are swamped right now" goes a long way. Several groups of folks walked out frustrated during the 30 minutes we were waiting for a table; mostly because they hadn't been greeted or acknowledged. read more

My dad is from Wheatland so I spend every summer here. The place is extremely well decorated and has a very chic, modern atmosphere. One day I did a tasting flight and was very pleased with their selection of beer. Came back the next day and tried one of thier specialty cocktails which was very good. The service was great as the bartender was very friendly and nice. Plus there is a 2 hour happy hour in which some beers are only $2.50!! Being from California beers from breweries range $7-9 so that's a steal. Overall, thoroughly impressed with Windy Peaks! Good for Wheatland read more
