I only order from Windy City via Postmates. My order yesterday was wrong. I called them (with Postmate driver standing by) and they admitted it was their problem. I kept the wrong order, which was worth about $30 less than the order i was charged for. Stopped by in person today to make things right and they said 'oh someone should have called or messaged you, we cancelled the order". Noone had called or messaged. Charge was still on card. "oh, it can take 3-5 days to reverse..." I wasn't thrilled but said "ok, give me a Buzzball and I'll wait a few days to see if the reverse goes through". They wouldn't do it. For something worth less than $5. They said "we don't make any money on the delivery orders." Fine. Don't do them! But if you do them, make them right! That one Buzzball would have made all the difference between me being understanding (shit happens, of course i understand that) and unhappy. :-( read more

Everytime that I go to this store..My total is different. A few times I had to go back in when I realized I was overcharged...I received a refund. The 6 pack of beer I buy has ranged from $10.99 to $13.99...and the receipt they give isn't itemized it just shows the total. THEY OVERCHARGE DO NOT BUY HERE...THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!!! Just bought 2 liter of Diet Dr. Pepper few hours ago (only because they were sold out of regular..). Pour my drink, it's weird and flat. Turns out the expiration date is "JAN0614". The service in this store is not satisfactory at all. For some reason a most of the products they sell lack price labels and after you find out how much your purchase comes up to, a 50¢ "credit and debit" charge appears without them telling you until you have to sign. Right after I noticed the charge I asked for a refund which took a week to reimburse. There are much better liquor stores around the area with better service and no surprises. read more

They carry almost everything that a beer drinker could guzzle, desire, dream of and so on! The guys behind the counter a helpful and always good for a short conversation, too. Stop by and grab your favorite local brew including Stone, Lost Abbey, Green Flash, Ballast Point and AleSmith. The also have a great selection of Belgian brews. If you want to find something unique, stop by and peruse their selection. They also have a good selection of liquor, too, but I haven't spent too much time looking in that direction. read more

In a city completely devoid of anything remotely resembling quality ale selection this place is the truth! Great people behind the counter who are always friendly and insightful. I bring my kids in after hockey games to get energy drinks (while I get my own, hop infused energy drinks) and they are always cordial to them. I'll give 2 stars simply for selection, but they gouged me good. I wasn't really paying attention as I checked out with a 4 pack of dogfish head imperial IPA and a bottle of rogue voodoo doughnut ale. When I got to the car and looked at the receipt it came out to $35.60! Are you kidding me? the IPA was clearly marked $11.99. This means I paid over $20 for a 750ml bottle of beer? Love this place!!! Have a great craft beer selection, probably the best in east county. The guys in there are always super cool and knowledgeable about beer. They have hard to find beers like Russian River's Pliney the Elder, and some of the Stone's beers dating back to 2008. Hands down the best selection in East County. Windy City carries all local breweries and some Oregon and Nor Cal breweries such as Rogue and Eel River. The one brewery they do carry that I love is Russian River. Specifically Pliny The Elder. Its rated 100 from Beer Advocate and one of my favorites. Windy City also carries numerous brands the rate anywhere from 95-99 and are extremely reasonably priced. For everyone who are anti craft brews they also carry Bud, Coors and all the other major brands. read more

I've been wanting to check this place out for a while and I finally got to go today. Both Julian and Joe were very friendly and helpful. Its always fun to talk beer with guys that enjoy it as much as I do especially if they aren't snotty about it. The place has some great size and selection and they have a lot of beers in the fridge (which is important....some places just keep a lot their beers out at room temp).
