Firstly, their prices are one of the more competetive compared to other beer and wine stores. The Windward Beer and Wine Store over by the hospital is considered one of the most expensive. Secondly, they go out of their way to get different and unique items and are more than willing to get something in for a customer. Their hours are very reasonable as well. Basically if you are in town and need to head to a Beer and Wine store than try to make your way here rather than some of the other ones nearby.

I called and I spoke with Marilyn and I requested a delivery for a birthday basket and she assisted me with picking out 4 good wines from several regions and I picked out snacks and munchies to go with the wine! she even sent some chocolates! It is true the place is a little worn but pubs are having a hard time these days and it is at least clean. On to the menu. They have weekly "specials" that are sometimes good depending on your taste. If you are older they are a little far out and new age. The rest is standard pub fare. The kitchen is a bit hit and miss with hit being more often than miss. I would like to see the specials be a bit more recognizable. Meatloaf or a monte cristo etc. would be nice once in a while. But being able to walk in and they know what I drink kinda makes up for it. Sitting in a pub from the 1800s is interesting as well. Think of all the miners who drank here after their shift.

My girlfriend spent 50$ on beverages, while I spent almost 20$ on a packet of cigarettes. Upon trying to exit this business we found ourselves locked in, and being the only 2 people in the store.it was quite frightening, and unlawful. The worker demanded to search our purses. I was only carrying a wallet, while my girlfriend was carrying a small purse that only fit her wallet and keys. We were both dressed in rather form fitting clothing as well. The worker said she saw us steal a tall can. I indicated to the worker that if we had stolen a tall can she would easily be able to see it on us. Keep in mind we had just spent 70$ at this business. Upon clearly being able to see that there was no theft, the worker, instead of an apology for her mistake taunted us with "I'm going to review the cameras and will call the police if I see anything"
