Drove 15 minutes from our campground to be stood up at the door with the "we are over capacity". Looking around there were many open tables and/or people sitting on patio without food or drink just loitering. With this "over capacity" information we put our name on a "quick waitlist". After 45 minutes of waiting in a seat that we found between many other open tables. We left. Beer looked good, food looks mediocre. Sounds like they build too much infrastructure for their lacklustre "capacity". If you're hungry or thirsty, you may want to drive down to Nanaimo. Probably quicker.

We came at around 5pm and the place was popping. The patio was already full and the restaurant had…read morelots of people inside. You order at the counter and you can either run up a tab or pay as you order. We got the spread to share which is recommended and also a salmon burger with a salad. The spread was quite large and can definitely feed 3 people. The fries were so good. The corn bread was perfect. Not too dry or sweet. The fried chicken was crispy. The sides complimented everything perfectly. The pulled pork was a bit too dry. But other than that it was pretty good. We devoured the whole thing. The beer wasn't really my cup of tea but to each their own. I love the flights so it gave you the perfect opportunity to try a bunch. The girls at the front were super nice and helpful. The food didn't come out super fast but fast enough. There's also one bathroom in the back. Overall loved the vibes here. There's not a lot of parking but you can park on the street as well. I can see why so many people come here

Recently arrived in Nanimo and found myself with some time to kill before my rental car was ready…read more There are surprisingly no restaurants at the Nanimo airport. The Timberland Pub was recommend to us by the car rental place so we hopped in a cab (short cab ride but not walkable) The pub is attached to a liquour store, large dinning room and patio area. We arrive around lunch, and there seemed to be a lot of families there at same time (family friendly) The food was really good! I had the chicken club my friend had the halibut sandwich. the servers were excellent, really friendly and helpful

Pretty sure this is the place I frequent most in Nanaimo. ;)…read more I used to work at a liquor store in Vancouver and I have to say, I appreciate the laid back atmosphere. I'd liken it most to something like the El Dorado (for Vancouver locals), maybe a step up from that. They have a decent selection of value wines, interspersed with a few half decent bottles. They also have three cases of chilled white wines (none spectacular but mostly sufficient), which will be nice for the summer. They have a wall of hard liquor, including some interesting stuff like white whiskey. They have a small case of single beers, ranging from 40oz's of Colt 45 and Olde English to local crafties and import ales. All are a reasonable price. They have all the standard beers in 6 packs and up. Not much in the way of craft beer in 6 packs, I think they might carry Phillips? Staff is friendly but usually hasn't tried most of the interesting stuff, in my experience. All in, good prices for a private store (example: 650ml of Wells Bombardier: $4.60, 6 pack of Shaftebury, $9ish, cheap decent red wine, $11), and a central location for residents of this neighbourhood.

Firstly, their prices are one of the more competetive compared to other beer and wine stores. The Windward Beer and Wine Store over by the hospital is considered one of the most expensive. Secondly, they go out of their way to get different and unique items and are more than willing to get something in for a customer. Their hours are very reasonable as well. Basically if you are in town and need to head to a Beer and Wine store than try to make your way here rather than some of the other ones nearby.

Everything was amazing! Worth the stop!…read more The place was highly recommended by a family member that frequents this brewery. Of course we had to make a stop on our route up island. We all enjoyed our meals. Visited back in August so it's been a couple of weeks. Our table shared the mushroom kalamari and it went fast! It was so good, crispy and balanced, we could have easily ordered a 2nd plate - it was that good! I wasn't too hungry and ordered the West coast chowder with a side of bread. Little did I know this was one of the best meals this summer. I took a photo and ate the rest! I need that recipe! My 2 kids had the pesto pasta and both thoroughly enjoyed it, no leftovers. Husband had the brisket plate. He also enjoyed his flight of seasonal beers. Highly recommended and anyone heading up island or back to Victoria, make.the.stop! Parking was difficult, but it all worked out, there was a 20 min wait. Our regret was not buying the merch, cute shirts for sure! Instead we bought brews to go as host gifts before we left. We were visiting from Los Angeles and can't wait to be back next summer! Round 2 of my west coast chowder and husband wants to try the burnt ends apps!
