Unfortunately, I followed my iPhone's map app and wound up on some old dead end dirt country road. Then when finding the correct location, I was at an oil business's building. Luckily I noticed that the google page said "in the oil company building." P.S. the interior is REALLY WERID. Anyways, just go upstairs and to the right. I really liked the video instruction and the small group-size! (We only had 3 participants). Makes the class go quick (supposed to be 3 hours but ended up being 2)! Cost for the BLS class was $50. This certification is good for 2-years. Definitely recommend Permian Basin CPR, LLC if you need to obtain or renew your CRP certification!

Nice baseball, soccer, and softball fields and general grassy areas. You can book the fields in advance for private games or for more recreational, group sports and there are bright lights in the evening to light up the fields (necessary when the day is 102!). No picnic tables or very much shade though, so probably not the best for just hanging out.

The biggest lil' ol' park in Texas! You can tell that this…read morepark has some history, and predates a lot of other parks in the Texas State Park system. It seems to have been grandfathered in, or inherited into the system. Back in the day, the thing to do was to come to this big hill that overlooks the city, and carve your name in the limestone rocks. Now, they don't exactly have signs that prohibit this, but I think it'd be frowned upon. However, they even have a PDF pamphlet that lets you see the best of the rock carvings. This park is kinda small, compared to the other parks in the system. It's got only a handful of trails and roads that go through. There's no overnight camping. When I went, the park HQ seemed to be semi-permanently closed, and there was no one at the entry gate. There were park trucks driving through the park. I hiked the nature trail, which was easy. It had informative signs that point out various points of interest in the nature, about what the natives did with certain plants, or what this little structure is. The path takes you up to the top of the hill, which overlooks the city of Big Spring, and miles and miles beyond. There are public restrooms here at the top.

This park is a nice leg stretcher when driving across Texas as so much land is privately owned. I made it here just before sunset. I wanted to walk the road before it got too dark and the park was officially closed. There isn't much else to do recreationally along the I-20 corridor through the Permian Basin oil fields, so this little free park is a godsend for long-distance travelers. I made it to the park with 30 minutes of daylight. Two other cars also arrived and its passengers jumped out to powerwalk the road. I did the same thing, albeit at a slower pace with my two geriatric dogs, one who had to go back to the car to rest. My other dog and I made it to the overlook, admired the many burning refineries and reveled in the sulphuric acid (made worse by the fog and rain). We had to go down via the Nature Trail to get back before it was too dark. On a clear spring day I imagine this is a great place to catch the flowers and take in the views, and I'm sure this is a perfect place for a moon walk under a full moon rise. This is a small park under the Texas Park Systems, but it's very well appreciated by people like me. I can't imagine what else people living in Big Springs can do for exercise and nature visits.

They…read morehave a small area sectioned off for the little ones learning to skate, so they can learn and be safe from the big "kids." All of the arcade games work, not many available though. There is a small pool table & a snack bar. They have a projector that displays the Spotify playlist. You can request music as well. You can have private/semi-private parties. One draw back to visiting Skateland on a Friday night is the LINE waiting to get in is a mile long. Most of the kids in line get dropped off an HOUR BEFORE doors open! The owners Cody & Amanda have some older kids to help out with security but some of these kids that get dropped off need a good old fashioned butt whoopin! Other than the occasional little teenie bopper jerk it's a fun place to hang out. The owners have a lot on their plate and could use help keeping kids in check. If you see something that is out of line or kids getting out of hand call them out on it or let Cody & Amanda know so they can have the kids removed.

I was happy to see how clean that this facility was, how welcoming they were, and how they had things organized for the children. I looked at 8 other daycare centers, but ended up choosing this one in the end. It was very hard to find good childcare here in Midland! Either places are booked and have waiting list, or are just not what you are looking for. I am very pleased with my decision, and I look forward to my son starting here. Give this place a try, they will give you a peace of mind, and you will find the right daycare center for your child here.
