The staff are SO helpful and friendly, and they always help him find something to buy. Actually, he just thinks all the clothes there are so beautiful - seriously, how often do you hear a man praising a women's clothing store? My mom and I can spend hours here. The saleswomen will create the fitting room of your dreams - I told them a few things I was looking for and they filled the room with fun options! They helped me accessorize and found me the most gorgeous dress I would NEVER have pulled off the rack! The clothes can get a little pricey, but they are nice quality, and great for mixing and matching since many of them are elegant versions of "basics." They also have beautiful jewelry which goes nicely with the clothes. It's a pleasure to shop here, both because of the sales staff and the quality of the clothes. It's the first place Mom and I stop when we go shopping together!

White House Black Market sells very elegant and feminine clothing for a variety of occasions. At WHBM I found the absolute most perfect dress I could have thought of for the occasion. In addition, the sales associates on staff were very friendly and helpful without being pushy, pulling lots of shoe and accessory options for me. The original price of the dress was quite a bit more than my budget but given how great it looked and my lack of other choices, I took it and am so happy I did. However, the story only gets better. A week later I discovered that my dress had gone on clearance for less than half of the original price. I got a totally hassle-free price adjustment; the typical company policy is that you must bring the item into the store where you'd gotten it to have the adjustment done, but when I said that I live an hour from the store the rep did it over the phone.

I heard about this place when living in Chicago, and after purging my closet last week, I figured…read moreI'd try to get some cash before donating the rest to Goodwill. My selling experience was generally positive - the staff clearly explained the buying/selling process and invited me to browse the store while they went through my items. Of course they want me to browse the store. If they're going to give me money, they want me to spend it in their store. Truth be told, I love secondhand stores and would've gladly bought some clothes if I'd found anything I wanted. First, there were far fewer clothes for men than for women (a point they note on their website to encourage men to donate). Second, the people who've been donating to this particular store clearly are college undergrads: half of the clothes are from American Eagle, and there are strong showings from Abercrombie & Fitch and Hollister. Third, the men's jeans are generally outdated. Granted, I only looked in my sizes - there may be some stuff that I would wear in the wrong size. After 10 minutes or so, my clothes had been checked out. They accepted 4 items - 2 shirts and 2 pairs of Express Jeans - and said the rest of the clothes were too old. Incidentally, they kept the oldest item I brought (a dress shirt from Benneton), but I'm guessing they liked the label. In all, I don't completely understand what mystical process the staff uses to determine what to keep and what to give back, but I'm happy to take away a few dollars on clothes that I had just planned on giving away.

I've literally worked at plato's closet in Traverse City michigan, that location and this location are not good, but this one is much worse for selling, unless you want maybe enough money to buy yourself a happy meal after driving 30 minutes to the store.
