I wish I had asked about their compensation. I took in three pairs of Keen shoes (Worn just a couple times. They look brand new) three pairs of slippers still in the box, and a th pairs of Skechers shoes never worn ouside,ten pairs of jeans in various sizes practically new ( I recently lost a lot of weight) A pair of never worn men flannel lined jeans ,and nice shirts. For all that I was compensated $97. And they will turn around and sell for a hundreds. I guess I expected more than what they gave me. I know that they're in for a profit but geez, I wish I'd of had the guts to ask for all of it back-and walked out the door . i will never go back. Charity gets my items from now on. At least then I know it will go to a good cause. read more

This consignment shop is awesome! It's huge! They sell not only clothes, shoes and jewelry, but also furniture! Who knew?! I came here during black Friday and they had an additional 20% off, on top of color coded tags (red, blue, purple, etc. which indicate the % off of the item- purple is 80% off!). Everything is organized and easy to look through, which I fully appreciate. I love that they have several different rooms for different types of clothing (career, formal wear, shoes, sleep wear, etc.) on top of their main rooms filled with clothes and bags. They have very affordable clothing and everyone can find something here! I got a career blazer for $6 (after all the discounts, but originally only $12), a pink blouse for $5 (originally $15), a couture beaded dress for $28 (originally $100+), and a cute purple career dress for $8 (originally $30)! This is what you call a bargain! The people who work on the floor are just so nice and helpful. I will definitely come back here again to explore their selection! I got a like-new pair of sandals for $6 (after 50% off $12). What a bargain! There are some very nice items, BUT you have to spend the time going through the racks, looking for hidden treasures. Shoes are easier to spot because they're laid out so you can see them quickly. The clothes are another matter, but I'm looking forward to going back when I have more time. This is by far my all time favorite consignment shop. The selection is amazing. What she has done with the new store is beyond words. I go in there probably twice a week, if not more. I am not the type of person who wants to spend a lot of time shopping for clothes. I always look through the racks because there are great deals to be found, but in my size the selection is normally rather limited. My wife, on the other hand, will spend eons going through the gigantic inventory... What I was pleasantly surprised about was some of the furniture. I purchased a sweet desk that would've cost me at least a thousand bucks anywhere else for about a quarter of that. And I got a dining table, 6 chairs, and a china cabinet for about the price of two of the chairs. And this furniture is legit - no pressed wood garbage... We normally stop in every other week or so just to see what they have because you just never know when a deal will pop up. Definitely worth checking out. read more

I always find something here, usually something that I didn't think of when I stopped in. Lots of great clothing, including a smallish selection of used designer wear. My only complaint is that on busy days it can be hard to locate a fitting room and people being the way they are can sometimes leave the room a mess. But I do usually visit on weekdays when I can and the crowds tend to be gone. They have a good selection of non-clothing items too -- I need to look at some of that someday. If you are a local, there are often $5 coupons available in various mailers, but often there are additional discounts that make it a better price than if you took the $5 off (you can't use both). Highly recommended if you are a smart shopper. I've never used the consignment service, so I can't comment on that. read more

Kellie was supposed to get back to me a month ago after we talked about the paltry amount I received for two items - a 100% CASHMERE sweater set (Jaeger UK or Land's End) and a brand new/never worn Columbia fleece jacket for which I received $4.70! She said she'd check into it and "make things right" because that was important to her and they were a "great" store. I have heard NOTHING. A few years ago I took some items there and two of my items came up missing. An employee told me that staff sometimes helped themselves to items. When I mentioned that to Kellie she told me that that would "never" happen or the person would be fired and that the employee who said that to me was let go. It still didn't explain where my items went. Long story short ... I will NOT consign here again. I'm not saying it's not a good place to buy, but what I am saying is CONSIGNOR BEWARE. read more

Kellie's has moved..but not far. They are at 420 Okemos Rd. at Grand River Ave, in the side of the Meijer parking lot. Bigger building. Upscale resale, some vintage. No kids. Very choosy about what they take in so they have nice things, from shoes to purses to jewelry; clothing, and some furniture and household furnishings. The consigning process is very easy, you should check their requirements online before taking things in. I love this store, Kellie is usually there, the people are very nice and knowledgeable. read more

This place is a rip off. They take 60% of the sales and the customer gets 40%. I took a fur coat to sell there which I bought several years ago at the same place for $500. They priced my beautiful muskrat fur coat trimmed in raccoon for $103. After 3 phone calls I finally received my check for $41. I will never shop there again. read more

So much fun to shop here. Always find something I need, don't need or just plain want. Yesterday I got slacks, tops, sweaters, a dress and a great jacket. Some were unsale and others not but sales person gave me an additional 15% on everything. My 88 yr old mo asked, "If I'm still alive in a year, can we come back for fun at least once?" This shop started with Kristy and Kelly on Park Lake Road and it was a wonderful 'boutique' like feeling. Then they split and each got into larger buildings. Kelly had a wonderful furniture collection on Grand River (near Dusty's Cellar) and I walked in there quite often and bought things. After that, Kelly moved to the old 'Schuler' bookstore building near Meijer's supermarket on Okemos Rd (and Gd River). The furniture part was 'meh' and I never bought items there again. But, the clothes were nicely and clearly displayed. Now, it is behind Wheat's jeweler's on Marsh Road. Bigger again. But not better. It is downright creepy to go down to the furniture area. The upstairs with clothing is 'gloomy and doomy' as I call it since there is not enough light coming in. Another negative is that many of the clothes are rather outdated (as is much of the furniture). However, the prices don't reflect that! I know of consignment stores in Okemos that definitely will not take clothes older than 2 yrs they don't take certain cheap brands either and have much better consignment rules. I decided last week I won't go to Kelly's again. To me, bigger has definitely not gone better. Too bad. read more

After my wife passed away I took a large amount of her clothing to Kellie's. When dropping items off, they were very thankful and explained their process on selling items and the payment to me on items sold. Any items not sold, I would be contacted to donate them to charity and I would receive a statement for tax purposes. All sounded good, but it was all talk. I never received a dime, never received a tax statement. I called back at various times to inquire and was always given an excuse or run around. I do hope the clothing went to someone who could enjoy them. I would never take anything to this store again. I would give it straight to charity first. Sad, sad situation. read more

Had to call management with a complaint after a poor experience in the store only to be told that what I was saying wasn't true before I even had the chance to finish my sentence. The problem in the store was that I had met someone there who had been told that her clothes smelled of smoke. The person admitted that they were a smoker. Instead of removing those items before seeing mine I only had one item looked at out of the twenty brought and the worker had the nerve to ask other customers what they thought and if they had smelled anything in the area. I find that to be very disrespectful. Because the worker had smelled something she would not look at any of my clothing. There is no smoking at my home. It's not possible that they smelled of something that they aren't near. Then I watched as the worker proceeded to accept clothing that was winter apparel even though it clearly states on their website that they are only accepting spring and summer apparel. I was brought to tears after the disrespect in the store and then the apathetic manager only made it worse. I will not be returning. read more

I really liked the store. Changing rooms are convenient. I can shout out to my daughters to bring another item in! The prices are good for the quality of goods. I bought a new, tags on, Laura Ashley jacket regularly $123 for $32. I love it and have just about worn it out. Parking is easy, too. Lots of nice restaurants in the area. My 73 year old mother brought in some beautiful things to consign, including a new Michael Kors suit. The items were accepted. I was with her when she consigned the items. The woman told my mother to check her email for further instructions. The email never came. After calling, the email was resent and her cut, according to Kellie's, was just over $1. One Dollar! The items are no longer in the store, so what happened to them? What could they have possibly sold that would make my mother not even two dollars? They are victimizing people.
