We stayed for Valentine's weekend (3 nights), and it was like being welcomed into someone's mansion. The place is beautiful even in the winter snow. The accommodations are like stepping back in time, but with some modern amenities as well. The bed was a four poster antique replica with the most dreamy mattress. The in-room electric fireplace was nice within our spacious room (junior suite). Having Andy greet us every morning at breakfast was lovely, and the plated meal was delicious. We also enjoyed a bottle of wine and some food in the pub. An added bonus was entertainment one night by a talented duo. Recommendations for outside the Inn dining was provided by Andy along with some "must see things" as well. It was very nice "stepping into the historic past" at this beautiful Inn. A slow pace and a relaxing wood fire in the lobby was just what our weekend called for. We're planning to go back in warmer weather to see the grounds in all their glory and experience what other seasons have for visitors.

Breakfast was do-it-yourself based on contents of the fridge, breakfast bar and keurig coffee maker (not deluxe, but adequate). Room was large (and AC was working fine) but decor was random and impersonal. King-sized bed was very comfortable and tiled shower bathroom was clean and functional. Note that the Inn is FOR SALE (last 500 days), so this may explain lack of attention to anything more than basic accommodation. I was unable to speak to anyone in management about having a late checkin -- they only respond to email (not phone) and not promptly and not on my first attempt. This was very odd. For the price ($281, with taxes), I think it should have been a lot nicer. Town is very quiet (actually pretty dead) and many businesses appear shuttered. There is however, a lovely park at the end of the property (after the tree swing) called Paradise Park. This made for a nice walk in the morning. I was glad we discovered this on our own as the innkeepers were non-existent. Pleasant enough, but .... not exactly what I was hoping for at this price.

There was an assortment of breads and muffins, oatmeal, waffles, fruit, etc. And the chocolate chip cookies are a delicious bonus!

Our room has a clear view of the Acutney Ski area, which is only operational on weekends (run by volunteers and the resort do not sell discount tickets but does post their hours). Each building has locker rooms for your skis, but be sure to pack a lock so you can keep your equipment safe. They also have complementary laundry for guests with 3 detergent pack in your room. The main building (Windham Building) has most of the amenities such as the restaurant, gym, activity room, theater (showings at 10:30 am and 7 pm with complementary warm popcorn) and the arcade. They also have a billard room with ping pong tables and fooz ball table. Our kids definitely enjoyed these onsite activities. The indoor pool is in a separate building in itself. HUGE pool but no sauna or hot tubes. Why?? Such a shame as it would be so much more enjoyable with these adds. When we were there, there were barely anyone at the pool because of lack of activity. If they were to add these, I'm sure it would get utilized a lot more by guests. Do try the onsite restaurant, Maple Kitchen. You won't be disappointed. It closes on Tuesday and Wednesday. I posted a separate review on it. We always take a winter ski vacation, this resort will definitely be on rotation list!

Nestled in the grounds of the lovely retreat, Gather offers a small but well refined menu. Located outdoors, lawn-side candlelit tables ring 2 fire pits. These have comfy chairs for enjoying a pre-dinner cocktail. The atmosphere is classy and casual with friendly hosts and severs who take time to answer menu questions and be sure you have what you would like. With a full bar, vast wine and beer list featuring local selections, and a variety of non-alcoholic beverage options, there is something for everyone. Our meal began with a flavor packed broth soup, featuring lemon, parsley, chicken and rice. The hearty portion was perfect for 3 to share. Next came the salads: baby greens with pickled onions and homemade vinaigrette, and rubbed kale with cranberries and nuts. Delicious! The swordfish main is crafted with an amazing balance of sweet blueberry sauce and a touch of cayenne to make the flavors pop. The chicken dish featured a tasty glaze and features grilled lemon, a surprise twist. Both mains were served with a veggie side and atop smashed potatoes- creamy and flavorful, and with lots of texture. Dinner was capped by the featured dessert, blueberry lemon panna cotta. So smooth, creamy, and heavenly! Just the right amount of citrusy syrup to complement the richness. Gather features fresh and local ingredients. This family owned and run restaurant is one of many endeavors Lisa and Jonathan Burr have successfully fully created. You will not be disappointed with your Gather dining experience!

As a huge Hampton fan, I booked online immediately and within an hour, was checking into my spacious and clean room. From top to bottom, this hotel is well run. It was sold out the second night we were there but it was still running smoothly. Parking lot, lobby, halls, etc were all spotless. Staff was available at all times. Everything was so well maintained...nothing broken or anything like that. My room was spotless not to mention quiet and comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was very civilized (if you stay at Hamptons, you know that some of the guests behave like they've never had a free breakfast before, lol) and there was a large selection of healthy options (fruit, yogurt, oatmeal) as well as the mandatory waffle station. I had a pumpkin spice waffle which was great! After leaving the prior hotel we'd been staying at 9:00 pm, anything would have been better but this place took it to the next level. Breakfast in the morning was great with lots of options and everything looked fresh. I've stayed at quite a few Hampton Inns, but this one stood out a bit more. Clean rooms, nice staff, and a solid breakfast -- would definitely come back.

Yes, it's an inn so small and a bit older, but that just adds to the cozy charm and makes it a perfect northern getaway. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the heated bathroom floor, towel warmer, and shower jets were such a nice touch. We were even welcomed with warm cookies waiting in the room. Breakfast is included and made fresh. You choose your options ahead of time, which was great. The TV in the room is small, but it fits the cozy vibe. There are plenty of books and games in the lobby and extra room for entertainment. One small note, I'd recommend staying in an upstairs room, as some of the floorboards creak and I imagine the sound carries to rooms below. Since we were only there for a short time, we mainly interacted with Peter at the bar and he was fantastic. He even added something to my drink to make it sweeter. I would absolutely stay here again on my next Okemo trip and would love to try dinner next time too.

Knowing that I had to eat, I started my search and came across this highly rated place. We entered the quaint lobby and followed the signs to the dining room where we were greeted by several friendly and helpful employees. They offered us a seat at the bar while they prepared out table and I had an amazing smoked old fashioned. We were seated shortly and from there on, the evening just kept exceeding expectations. Our waiter was really exceptional. I can't recall his name but he made the night extra special. We started with spicy tuna bites where we great and a perfect size for an appetizer. I had the surf and turf special which was really great. I sampled some of my husband's NY Strip and it was also very nice. We tried to save room for dessert and I had an exceptional peanut butter bar. That was awesome. My better half had a pistachio brulee cheesecake. It had a good flavor but I thought the texture was too soft, but to be honest is was good. It just didn't meet the same level as everything else. The atmosphere the whole night was wonderful. The place as low ceilings and there were a lot of tables so I thought it might be too loud but it was perfect. The hospitality oozed warmth, every person I interacted with was lovely and we left with big smiles on our faces. If we'd run into anyone coming into dinner as we were leaving, I'm sure we would have told them to enjoy their meal as well. Highly recommend Weathersfield Inn for a meal.
