Breakfast was do-it-yourself based on contents of the fridge, breakfast bar and keurig coffee maker (not deluxe, but adequate). Room was large (and AC was working fine) but decor was random and impersonal. King-sized bed was very comfortable and tiled shower bathroom was clean and functional. Note that the Inn is FOR SALE (last 500 days), so this may explain lack of attention to anything more than basic accommodation. I was unable to speak to anyone in management about having a late checkin -- they only respond to email (not phone) and not promptly and not on my first attempt. This was very odd. For the price ($281, with taxes), I think it should have been a lot nicer. Town is very quiet (actually pretty dead) and many businesses appear shuttered. There is however, a lovely park at the end of the property (after the tree swing) called Paradise Park. This made for a nice walk in the morning. I was glad we discovered this on our own as the innkeepers were non-existent. Pleasant enough, but .... not exactly what I was hoping for at this price.

This Inn is nestled in on a quaint little street. We had dinner down the road which was perfect. The continental breakfast at the Inn was fabulous, I had hard boiled eggs and an english muffin with good coffee. There was an assortment of breads and muffins, oatmeal, waffles, fruit, etc. And the chocolate chip cookies are a delicious bonus!

It has a full kitchen which is always appreciated for family with children. Our room has a clear view of the Acutney Ski area, which is only operational on weekends (run by volunteers and the resort do not sell discount tickets but does post their hours). Each building has locker rooms for your skis, but be sure to pack a lock so you can keep your equipment safe. They also have complementary laundry for guests with 3 detergent pack in your room. The main building (Windham Building) has most of the amenities such as the restaurant, gym, activity room, theater (showings at 10:30 am and 7 pm with complementary warm popcorn) and the arcade. They also have a billard room with ping pong tables and fooz ball table. Our kids definitely enjoyed these onsite activities. The indoor pool is in a separate building in itself. HUGE pool but no sauna or hot tubes. Why?? Such a shame as it would be so much more enjoyable with these adds. When we were there, there were barely anyone at the pool because of lack of activity. If they were to add these, I'm sure it would get utilized a lot more by guests. Do try the onsite restaurant, Maple Kitchen. You won't be disappointed. It closes on Tuesday and Wednesday. I posted a separate review on it. We always take a winter ski vacation, this resort will definitely be on rotation list!

Just minutes off the highway, conveniently located. The Woods Lodge offers plenty of comfortable seating options to enjoy the deck, indoor dining area or outdoors. Nestled in the grounds of the lovely retreat, Gather offers a small but well refined menu. Located outdoors, lawn-side candlelit tables ring 2 fire pits. These have comfy chairs for enjoying a pre-dinner cocktail. The atmosphere is classy and casual with friendly hosts and severs who take time to answer menu questions and be sure you have what you would like. With a full bar, vast wine and beer list featuring local selections, and a variety of non-alcoholic beverage options, there is something for everyone. Our meal began with a flavor packed broth soup, featuring lemon, parsley, chicken and rice. The hearty portion was perfect for 3 to share. Next came the salads: baby greens with pickled onions and homemade vinaigrette, and rubbed kale with cranberries and nuts. Delicious! The swordfish main is crafted with an amazing balance of sweet blueberry sauce and a touch of cayenne to make the flavors pop. The chicken dish featured a tasty glaze and features grilled lemon, a surprise twist. Both mains were served with a veggie side and atop smashed potatoes- creamy and flavorful, and with lots of texture. Dinner was capped by the featured dessert, blueberry lemon panna cotta. So smooth, creamy, and heavenly! Just the right amount of citrusy syrup to complement the richness. Gather features fresh and local ingredients. This family owned and run restaurant is one of many endeavors Lisa and Jonathan Burr have successfully fully created. You will not be disappointed with your Gather dining experience!

As a huge Hampton fan, I booked online immediately and within an hour, was checking into my spacious and clean room. From top to bottom, this hotel is well run. It was sold out the second night we were there but it was still running smoothly. Parking lot, lobby, halls, etc were all spotless. Staff was available at all times. Everything was so well maintained...nothing broken or anything like that. My room was spotless not to mention quiet and comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was very civilized (if you stay at Hamptons, you know that some of the guests behave like they've never had a free breakfast before, lol) and there was a large selection of healthy options (fruit, yogurt, oatmeal) as well as the mandatory waffle station. I had a pumpkin spice waffle which was great! After leaving the prior hotel we'd been staying at 9:00 pm, anything would have been better but this place took it to the next level. If you're anywhere near White River Junction, this is a great place to stay!

We got room 200 on the second floor and it was really clean, comfortable, and seemed well kept. The staff at the desk were super friendly and helpful, which made checking in easy. I used the laundry room during the stay -- it worked fine, but I wish the machines took cards instead of quarters (would make things easier). Breakfast in the morning was great with lots of options and everything looked fresh. I've stayed at quite a few Hampton Inns, but this one stood out a bit more. Clean rooms, nice staff, and a solid breakfast -- would definitely come back.
