A bit pricey but to be expected for being one of only two hotels near the Dartmouth College campus,…read morethis one actually being onsite and in an historic (though extensively remodeled) building at that. Though it would've been nice to have had a view of the Green, the quiet midweek view of Main St was nice. The room was west-facing, so the sun shone in during the afternoons. No matter the setting, the a/c never quite got the room cool; it was a bit warm during the overnight, even after removing the unnecessary blanket from the bed. A few minor housekeeping issues in the room were quickly taken of after a quick call to reception, though turndown wasn't offered until the final night (didn't realize it was even available -- be sure to ask if that's important to you)! The slippers were nice and plush, and bathrobes (didn't use, see temperature note, above) were also available. There was a convenient bedside iHome wireless charger/digital alarm clock; unfortunately, it failed to charge my phone one night. Coffee was available in the lobby hallway every morning, and in the afternoon/evening, cookies!. A Lavazza pod coffeemaker was in the room along with a couple of tea bags as well, but no kettle. The onsite Pine Restaurant was quite popular. Note that folks eat early here; the restaurant was quiet by 8:30 pm (maybe also because it was midweek in summer). The bar area was quite spacious, though, and outdoor seating was available. Easy walk through town, to the Co-op (there was a small drawer refrigerator in the room), for retail shopping, and visiting the Dartmouth College campus (don't miss the Hood Art Museum, open Wed-Sat). Some restaurants in Hanover were also closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, and mobile phone service was sparse in town. The free Advance Transit bus service made for easy visits to the King Arthur Bakery & Cafe and for a talk at the Lebanon Opera House.

Excellent location across the street from Dartmouth College and in the heart of downtown Hanover -…read morewalking distance to the restaurants and shops. Modern, attractive and updated rooms with a desk, sitting chair, Lavazza coffee machine in the room. Pros: - For returning Dartmouth alumni, you can choose to write an index card to hang on the board across from the elevator to connect with fellow classmates in town - Room was clean, spacious and very comfortable - Parking garage about 2 blocks away for valet parking available - Pine restaurant at the hotel had really good, big salads Cons: - Had a brief technical glitch where we were able to get into our room, but then both of our keys stopped working after we left. The front desk quickly made us new keys - no problems after that. Notes: - Second floor room can have a bad view - roof with air conditioning unit and wood wall view - You can pay to eat at the Dartmouth dining hall - The Class of 1953 Commons. It is open breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late night. It is all you can eat with various food stations.

Spur of the moment, spontaneous road trip to Hanover, NH/Norwich VT, found this cool little hotel…read morelast minute with pretty decent rates. Mind you, yes, it was -20° when we were up here (unplanned of course) due to bomb cyclone weather. Anyhow, I'm so glad my trusty Honda Element Box Baby survived in this brutal freeze, she is a Cali girl after all. The staff were very friendly and welcoming at check in. The lobby and coffee/breakfast buffet bar area is inviting and modern. They had a HH from 5-6:30p with wine, beers and pita chips snacks. Round the clock hot coffee was much appreciated, especially during this crazy winter. Amenities: Pet Friendly: This is always the determination of any nearby destination. Our 18 year old chihuahua mutt needs to be able to tag along with us. Super pet friendly here. Pool: Though I brought my bathing suit, I was too tired after sightseeing to take a dip. It's a small pool, I'm sure kids love it. Gym: Small, but does the trick. Few treadmills, cycling areas, bosu balls, no stretching area. Also, there are no wipes. They do provide workout towels, yoga mats and there is a water station for hydration. Breakfast: Pretty decent but you will get the instant stuff. They have a bagel and English muffin station with cereals and milk. The days we were here, they had hard boiled eggs if you don't want the instant scramble eggs. Sausage links were good, the sausage patties weren't heated all the way through so it was still a bit frozen and inedible. There were hot cakes that were good. Don't expect brunch style options, typical hotel breakfast staples. Does the trick and there are plenty of healthy options too such as fruit and Greek yogurt Rooms: Very cute and modern. Each room had a kitchenette which is so convenient. The nightstands have USB chargers, the heat was great! We blasted that thing and made the cold much more bearable. The showers have good water pressure. I'm so glad this place launders and changes the sheets per guest! I could always tell when sheets and pillow cases have been laundered and when they haven't, so yay for cleanliness. My sole complaint here is that you can hear everyone next door and in the hallways. So, I can definitely tell you the parents next door to us were not getting any sleep at 3am from their crying toddler who was stomping around cause I wasn't getting any sleep either! If you forgo housekeeping service, you can get 250 points added or $5 credit to use at the convenience store downstairs. Pretty awesome since we don't generally use housekeeping when we travel. Great driving distance to lots of restaurants. 5 mins to Jesse's Tavern, 15 mins to King Arthur Flour and Dartmouth Campus. Quechee Park and mall are about 20 mins drive. Beautiful areas around with lots of handmade cheeses, jams, soaps and VT maple syrup to purchase for home. Amazing slopes too. Snowboard trip when the weather is much more bearable.

I am very impressed with this hotel. It's been quite a while since I felt this way about any hotel…read more The overall theme is that it's clean, compact, and modern. Upon entrance, one can appreciate the expansive windows and the modern lobby. The servicemen were friendly. Although the room was by no means fancy, the clean modern decor along with the presence of a functional kitchen (which we honestly did not test) was more than sufficient. Similarly, the bathroom and beds were equally equipped and functional. Actually, the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. The exercise facilities were nice. Small but functional, the gym has more than a handful of dedicated weight training machines to say that it's just basic, along with a full rack of weights (up to the standard 50-pound pair). There are a pair of all 3 major cardio machines (treadmill, recumbent bike, and elliptical). With a water cooler and disposable earbuds, I don't see how too many people could be unhappy with the layout. I wish I had the time to check out the pool, which also looked inviting. The best part was the breakfast. Although unassuming by a cursory glance, a detailed look reveals that the choices are all incredibly excellent. Not only did it have all the essential elements of a healthy breakfast, with a variety of yogurt and nutritious drinks, it also has ingredients for those who savor the hearty. I think I had not one, not two, but three helpings of the sausage scramble. This had to be the best breakfast I have had in a long, long time. The presence of this hotel adds incredible value to the community. No wonder it commands top dollar at the demanding days for local graduations. I will definitely want to be back here when I visit this area again.

We were able to easily access our car and the breakfast buffet from our room. The breakfast buffet was the usual eggs, protein, yogurt, cold cereal, oatmeal (my favorite) with multiple toppings and bread (mediocre muffins). The cold cereal selection should have had more adult selections (less sugary). The coffee was excellent! The trees on the grounds were in their Fall glory.

But one thing has been irking me - their breakfast options. While they actually have a pretty nice breakfast compared to most continental breakfast hotels, they include pork in almost everything. They put the vegetarian quiche in the same pan as the bacon. They put sausage or ham in all the breakfast sandwiches. I know they have non-pork options because there was one day where they had no pork in all the food . Management - please offer non-pork options for your guests and pls stop putting pork and non pork foods in the same pan. To be fair, I asked the kitchen manager if he had anything without pork one day and the next day was when I saw all the non-pork options. But one day out of the week is not enough. I would increase the rating to 5 stars if they fix this. Thanks

The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly, and the property was quiet throughout our stay. One of our rooms had already been updated, and the new décor and bathrooms look great. The only oddity was the tiny refrigerator placed on the floor instead of in the usual built‑in alcove you find at other Courtyards. Our second room hadn't been renovated yet, and the older bathroom definitely showed its age by comparison. We also ran into an issue where the TVs kept reverting back to the Marriott welcome channel every 5-10 minutes, which made watching anything a bit frustrating. Even with those quirks, we enjoyed our stay and would return. Once the renovations are complete, I could easily see this being a 5‑star review instead of a 4.

I'm not looking for anything like a happy ending... the real basics were there but unfinished. The breakfast room was big and pretty cool, well decorated, clean, meeting rooms and pool area stylish and high ceilings. Staff was kind and hardworking. The facility looked well maintained. The fish in the pond were alive... the fireplace was lit but not roaring. There were no managers anywhere in range to address the idea that the food at breakfast was running out... and it wasn't even that great. Canned fruit cocktail - fully picked through down to the pears, no breakfast meats, scrambled eggs clearly from a mix, milk empty, and... odd food setup, not conducive to easy access... waffle maker on the opposite side of the big room up a set of steps. I'm not disabled, but very large group of older people there... big group... kinda sad the staff didn't have the presence of mind or leadership support to plan for a big group and make em really feel well taken care of. A tiny bit of forethought in planning for a big group, prepping the staff who was there, ordering enough food and then getting it ready plenty early... The missing link was leadership. So, this place has potential. They could have a box of umbrellas for borrow. They could have put up an omelet or fresh eggs cook station with an actual breakfast cook. Space was available but NOTHING made me say "Hey wow ... I'll come back here"
