My mom was moved from CHOMP to Carmel Hills for Hospist…read morehospice care for the three weeks she was in their CARE - the staff made her comfortable and felt with anything that came about. Mind you their was a family member with her 24/7 until she was called home. Does that make a difference - maybe but the staff was attentive to other patients just the same. Its not a happy place - people are at various stadges of health and some are dying. That's life - to complain that enough was not done? Well some folks are never happy and others are selfish with there time and expect more than what can be offered. Think before you complain - was there something I could have done at that time to change the outcome. As for theft - items of value should be left at home! And likely it still could have come up missing - if there was sentimental value. Its possibly been secured by a family member... Thank you to all

My mother entered the facility April 3rd of last year. She was also a hospice patient. The care…read morethat Carmel Hill has provided to my mom has been exceptional. They helped her live her last days with dignity and grace. They were responsive to her needs, although she was somewhat non-communicative. She was bathed daily and cleaned up on a regular schedule. The staff has been more that accommodating to our family's requests. They are truly an exceptional group to work with. My experience with my mother being a resident here has all been very positive. I find that if you have a loved one here it is very important that you are present that you visit often and get to know the staff. The CNA's took very good care of my mother and communicated well with our private caregivers. They were always attentive to all her needs and worked as a team with our private caregivers. The Nurses were exceptionally caring by making sure my mother took her meds with chocolate pudding. The activities staff were enthusiastic and caring; the kitchen staff were attentive to my mother's preferences in food. The entire staff is to be commended for the professional way they go about difficult job they have. Once again, I would say that if you do have a loved one in care anywhere you should visit them often. I think that really affects their care, when the staff knows that your loved one is not just being dropped off but instead they are still an active part of their family. My mother recently passed away April 13, 2022 she had dementia. For years, we care for her at home and as she progressed, we had to make that hard decision to place her here. We are so fortunate to have found this place for my mother, how all the staff took such great care of her. I want to thank the administration Carole Dorsey, RN Director of Nursing Services for accommodating our whole family to be able to see my mom on her last moments of life, and Thank you to all the staff for the kindness and wonderful care you showed for my mother. Although we are still grieving her passing, it is a comfort to know that she was at the right place being cared for by the right people. Thanks so much for taking great care of my mom. This has been our go-to for years. They're incredible and I have to share my last experience…read more I brought my kiddo in to the ER with an extreme high fever and lethargy. From the moment we entered the building everyone was so kind and swift on their feet. We were able to get in a room within 15 minutes; they did chest scans and all sorts of tests. My child was nervous and scared but our nurses did everything to comfort her and even brought her coloring books, popsicles and other entertainment to help pass the time. I WISH I got our two nurses names.. they were absolutely out of this world. They kept the mood light and silly for her while providing us with detailed information without scaring her. Thank you ER team!

All of the reviews pointed to Community Hospital of Monterey Peninsula. Lucky for me they were about one mile away from where I was staying. When you need medical help, you can be a bit out of sorts. From the time I entered the door, they were welcoming and professional. They were kind and efficient. The Nurse that assisted me (I apologize but I forgot his name) has tattoos on both arms was reassuring and focused on helping me. He was great. I left in a reasonable amount of time with the care I needed. Thank you Community Hospital of Monterey Peninsula. Matt says if you are in the Monterey area and need any type of medical care, consider Community Hospital of Monterey Peninsula. They will put a smile on your face.

I would highly suggest to do a lot of research and look around before sending a loved one or…read moreyourself here. I had a very poor experience here. Simply, this place is all in it for the money. There is absolutely zero genuine care, healing or recovering occurring here. I had very poor and abnormal therapy sessions with Dani. Find out days after I left, Dani was fired. Also, they only have one counselor for 30+ residents, and Peter, is lacking in many skills and experience that is necessary for counseling at a residential treatment center. While my stay at New Start (now Sierra Health), Mr. Peter Torres lacks many tangible and interpersonal skills and just overall counseling experience to be a suitable candidate in such positions especially being the lone counselor at a facility where individuals are at the worst, rock bottom of their lives and are seeking true and genuine healing and help while away from their families and careers. Not to mention, everything is falling apart here. All of their hands sanitizers and soap dispensers are empty, and I got extremely sick while staying here with severe influenza. When I asked nursing staff for medicine, they informed me they ran out and it took 3 days of suffering and in pain until they got some mucinex. At one point, there was not one client or staff members that did not get sick within the same month. RUN from here!
