I would like to give negative 5 stars but that is not an option! I was referred to Windshields California by a co-worker so I mistakenly trusted the business. I called to make an appointment on Friday the 19th of July. I got to the Windshields of California and I could not find him anywhere around inside so I waited in my care outside. The business next door went in to locate him without my asking, that's how long I waited outside at my 9 am appointment. The owner told me they had BEEN SHAVING and the window glass company had delivered the wrong windshield to me, so we rescheduled for Saturday. I arrived on Saturday at 10 am and the owner told me that it wouldn't be finished until 3 pm, if it was later he would call me. He originally told me that the window would be $225 and I asked him how much he would charge for my side rear window to fix the seal, he said $25, so a total of $250. I had a friend with me luckily as this will become very important later because I never received a quote, a receipt, the job was so poor...pictures attached! He didn't call at 3 pm so I had my friend take me back to see what the problem was. I returned about 4 pm to the business and he wasn't even done then...he told me it would be 10 minutes. He came into the shop and told me it would be $295, I told him that he had quoted me $250 before I gave him the car and I told him that I was not going to pay that much, he told me he would keep my car. My friend was there and I paid him in cash and was not even given a receipt! I drove straight home and did not remove the green tape until morning, that is when I saw the black tar like substance, the old molding wiggly and peeling. My automatic start had fallen off the glass and I was very disappointed! I went to do my laundry shortly after that and when I looked at my front grill while folding laundry, it was missing! I was really upset and called my friend who took me to have the windshield fixed for him to come look at it for me as I knew I would have to do something. When I returned home I called my co-worker to look at the damage the windshield repair had created. He called him on the phone as his brother is a good friend of his. He denied everything so I went to Windshield Doctor in College Place, WA the next day to get a quote on fixing the mess. Windshield Doctor gave me a quote to fix the work that had been done incorrectly for almost $500!!! They also told me that the owner of Windshield California used to work for them and I was told he bought a $65 window and totally messed up my window by gluing the old molding with black glue. It looks terrible and I paid $295 dollars for that! What is most disturbing is that Windshields California has done such incompetent work that the Windshield Doctor has been fixing his mistakes for quite some time... Now for the final straw, my missing front grill on my 1996 Honda Accord EX...I have to call the Sheriff and file a complaint. They can't do anything about his shady business or his incompetence, so here I am going to have to take him to small claims court. WHY DID I NOT GET A QUOTE IN WRITING? WHY DID I NOT GET A RECEIPT FOR PAYMENT? WHY DID IT TAKE 6 HOURS TO MAKE AN UGLY MESS OF MY TWO WINDOWS? THE OWNER OFFERED TO PUT NEW MOLDING ON FOR MORE MONEY$$$$$ I THINK I HAVE PAID TOO MUCH!!!
