During what was already a really stressful situation for my wife and me, Jeremy was an absolute lifesaver. He helped us on four different occasions, and some of those situations took a lot of his time. He replaced our radiator, engine air filter, thermostat, and fan clutch, reset the engine codes, and kept troubleshooting until he felt confident that we would be able to make it safely back home to California. What impressed me even more than his mechanical ability was the kind of person he is. One night he came out in the middle of the night to help us. He replaced the thermostat and didn't even charge us for that job. Afterward, he actually followed us for a while to make sure the vehicle wasn't going to overheat again and that we made it safely to our rest stop. That kind of concern goes way beyond what you normally expect from anyone. There was also a time when my wife was dealing with the vehicle without me there, and Jeremy went out of his way to make sure she was okay and could safely get where she needed to go. That meant a lot to me. He was patient, calm, honest, easy to talk to, and even helped us troubleshoot things over the phone. Despite everything he did for us, he only charged us for a few of the main repairs and never tried to nickel-and-dime us for all the extra time and effort he put in. We had a terrible experience with the vehicle itself, but we feel extremely fortunate that we found Jeremy during it. You can tell he genuinely cares about the people he helps, not just about getting paid for a job. Jeremy, thank you again for everything you did for us! We truly appreciate you and won't forget how much you helped us when we really needed it. If you're anywhere around Walla Walla and need a mobile mechanic, I would recommend Jeremy without hesitation. The guy was very honest and charged my AC right up to be ice cold again. He checked all of my tubes, lines, and parts than could relate to any coolant leaks and found nothing but said to bring it back if I have any issues. Overall, I had my car returned to me in just half a day and felt like the price he charged me was fair. On 2/4/2019, I took our Subaru Outback to Walla Walla Transmission Specialists to have the tires…read morerotated and a fluid leak in the rear end checked. They did not inform me that there would be a charge to inspect for the leak and I did NOT authorize this charge. After inspecting my car, they gave me a written estimate to remove and replace the rear differential cover for $595. I consulted with my friend, who is a master mechanic, and he stated it was highly unlikely that this repair would be needed. I decided to get a second opinion and drove over to the Harley Swain Subaru dealership in Hermiston (over an hour drive each way). After their inspection, they found absolutely nothing wrong with my car and performed the inspection FOR FREE!!! They also stated that this type of repair was almost unheard of. I returned to speak to the owner of Walla Walla Transmission and expressed my dissatisfaction with their analysis of the problem. I also requested a refund of the inspection fee, as I did NOT authorize the charge. The owner was unapologetic and stated that the suggested repair was just 'their opinion' and did not seem to care that their analysis of the problem was wrong. We try to stay local and support businesses here in Walla Walla, but always recommend getting a second opinion. My experience with dealers has been negative, but to my surprise, this Subaru dealer is the exception. They have been honest, knowledgeable and very helpful. We have been extremely happy with Harley Swain and highly recommend them to other Subaru owners -- it is definitely worth the drive.
