A few years ago our then puppy chewed up several slats on our plantation shutter pretty badly. For the longest time it was just a huge eyesore because we didn't want to have to replace the whole thing in the living room. Since it was a unique, beautiful cherry-colored shutter, it didn't even occur to us that it could be repaired/color-matched. My mom offered to help, found Henry and contacted him. Henry was very responsive, helpful and we connected over the phone. He came out once, took one slat, and a few days later called that he could color match it. The color was almost exactly the same (99% or so, you can only see the difference if you know what to look for and look closely) and it looks great. This is the second time I have used Henry's services. The first time he came to a rental condo that my sister and I own in Pasadena. He replaced staples, made small repairs, and did a little touch-up painting. I was pleased with the service he provided. He did a good job. This second time that I contacted him, I asked him if he could provide some shutter replacement parts. My contractor had removed the shutters from the sliding glass doors and had propped them up near an opening to the outside. During the night, the shutters blew over because of extremely strong winds. Part of one of the shutters broke. My contractor wanted to repair the shutters himself, since he felt somewhat responsible for what happened. I called Henry to ask if he could sell replacement parts to me. He readily referred me to a place where I could buy the parts that I needed. I needed repair work done on some shutters at my residence. Called this company based on the good reviews. Unfortunately, I didn't have the same experience as the 5 star people did. Henry arrived on time. I had some shutters in the master bedroom that needed new pins and tightening done. I also needed the latch to be fixed. Henry stated that he didn't have the parts to fix the latch. Shouldn't that be included? He also seemed to be in a hurry to get in and get out. He then went downstairs to fix some pins. We pointed out out that of the some of the pins needed to be tighter. He seemed annoyed and stated "those aren't my pins". We also had a broken piece that holds the blade in place. We had to point that out to him. My wife asked him if he could turn the blade around so the chipped part couldn't be seen. He reluctantly did that. He wound up fixing about 95 percent of our problems. Overall, wouldn't recommend this company. read more
