If Windows Fit/Maxx Window Works is the installation contractor Lowe's assigns to your job, run the other way as fast as you can. The whole project has been a nightmare for 6 months. I bought two sets of replacement glass patio doors the first week in Oct 2025, with the understanding they would be installed before Thanksgiving. Despite my constant inquiries, they dragged their feet on getting a permit. Thanksgiving came and went, and finally, in mid-Dec they followed up and obtained a permit from the Town of Los Gatos. Because it was close to Christmas, I asked that they delay until after the holidays, but in early January, it was raining, so yet another delay of 3 weeks because they would not/could not work in the rain. When they finally started the project in Feb, they only worked about 2 hours per day, because they had other jobs to finish. A job that should have required 3-4 days took 3 weeks- a few hours here and there. Several times, they showed up unannounced, and once one of the workers just walked right into my house without permission. The supervisor, Ernie, never showed up on site until I complained to Lowe's Customer Service. Then he dropped by to see the damage the workers caused. Otherwise, Ernie only responded on the phone or sometimes via text messages. No one supervised the work. The installation crew was a mess. They were sloppy and left trash in my back and side yards. The stucco repair looked like a 12-year-old did it. The inside molding was crooked and uneven. They didn't miter the corners. They left a gap of 1-2 inches between the door and the inside flooring. The screen door did not properly close. One of the inside door tracks has a 4-inch gap where the door closes. After many calls, discussions, and complaints, Ernie finally sent an experienced installer to repair the damage. One look at the job and he was horrified. He came twice and fixed the molding and some of the stucco, but then he disappeared, too. They falsified the lead report - saying they had completed all the requirements, and listing the wrong date my house was built. They completed NONE of the requirements that this document and the regulations require. Here we are, 6 months later, and still the installation and repairs to the poor work are not finished. There is no one scheduled at this time to finish. Lowes has called me several times to ask about progress, and even though I continue to complain, nothing happens. I've been waiting 3 1/2 months for them to correct the windows they messed up. Our installer has left me on read every time I message him and taking no initiative to go pick up the windows that came in months ago from Lowe's and get our install scheduled. Purchased a door from Lowe's, was continually told by Lowe's my door would installed within 1-2 days but when this company called they quoted me 2 weeks out. I asked them to please prioritize me since we had a major family event we needed this installed by and was able to moved up to the next day. When the tech arrived he said the door was opened and missing a part, the store confirmed the box was not opened prior. Red flag #1 I waited 3 weeks for the "missing piece" again the company was back logged and waited an additional week to get it installed. Installer shows up now second time with the door not even secured to the outside of the van but balancing on top of a saw in the back of his vehicle wedged in and now has a huge scratch. Door can't be installed Red flag #2 10 weeks later and I have no door, the process has been miserable, zero accountability from WindowFits and found out the technician was actually compensated everytime he pick up/dropped off a door. Stay away from them and Lowe's for replacement windows and installation. We ended up purchasing Windows from a manufacturer in Riverside who performs their own installation. So Hugo did a great job initially, except the wrong threshold was ordered and installed. He placed a vinyl one that warped. Called Lowe's in December/January stating it was warping and doesn't fit. Sent Hugo out again...he said he would request they order an aluminum threshold because vinyl will warp. Didn't hear anything until March that he never ordered this....well I finally force them to order this, first part that came in was bent so I had to wait another 2 weeks for another new part. They finally get it and it's STILL THE WRONG PART!!!! Either way, this was installed, too snug of a fit and now I can't get my door open!!! WindowFits did installation of 2 doors through Lowe's and their quality of work was terrible. I contacted a real door installation specialist and he was able to point out all of the errors they made. They used window trim (plastic) around one door instead of wood and it will eventually warp. They used silicone instead of wood as a brace beneath the metal trim at the bottom of the same door. The door did not shut properly due to the handle latch getting stuck. They didn't put the little plastic covers around the window trim. The second door does not close smoothly and they cut the trim around the door unevenly (there is a gap) and they filled it with silicone. If you get doors installed, find a real door installation specialist - not WindowFits. read more

We went through Lowe's to purchase two French doors and two windows, spending about $15,000, which included installation by one of their vendors, WindowFits. This experience has been a complete nightmare. Over the past three months, we've had four scheduled appointments, and every single one was canceled. The issues ranged from Lowe's repeatedly ordering the wrong windows or incorrect sizes, to one of the French doors and windows not matching the other. On top of that, Window Fits, the installation vendor, did absolutely nothing to help resolve these issues by communicating directly with Lowe's, claiming they were "only the installer." Both Lowe's and Window Fits would call on the day of the scheduled appointments to cancel, often citing last-minute problems. The very first cancellation came from WindowFits, who said they were having vehicle trouble but would come the next day--only they never showed up. We've had to take time off work to be home for these installations, only to be let down each time. We are fed up and have finally demanded a refund. If you're considering going through Lowe's for custom windows or doors, think twice--or better yet, take my word for it: don't. The installer had a helper and he was the one that patched up the holes and did a really sloppy job. I have been waiting for them to fix the trim by my baseboards for 5 and a half months now. Their internal communication and communication with Lowe's installation team has made this process a horrible experience. They sent someone to fix the problem on Wednesday, it is now Friday and I am still waiting for it to be resolved. And it is five and a half months after I got these installed. I bought new retrofit windows through Lowe's a few years ago and they sent Windowfits to do the installation. Within a few months during the first rainfall I experience water leakage on the two south-facing windows. I was still under the installation warranty and Lowes sent Windowfits back to evaluate. I got the round around and they took no accountability, instead pointing the finger on the manufacturer or the stucco. I had the manufacturer come out, they found no issues with the windows and confirmed it was installation. I had stucco patched up around the windows since they said it was causing the leaks. Fast forward another year and water is still coming in through the frames every time we get heavy rains. Submitted a claim with manufacturer and they again confirmed the problem is with the installation. At this point, my warranty with them has passed and I would not even want them to come back because I know that they will deny any wrongdoing. Given so many poor reviews, it is very clear that something was missed or incorrectly installed by Windowfits. It's a shame that instead of taking ownership and addressing the issue, this company denies any wrongdoing and customers are faced dealing with the issues years later. BEWARE!! Last year, Window Fits, through Lowe's, installed a French door in my kitchen. The work they did was absolutely horrific!! The weatherstripping the installers used was too short, leaving a gap for cold, heat, and bugs to come in. Whatever they used to seal the threshold left an awful stain on my floor. (I can clean it with bleach, but it comes right back. Since I have dogs, I don't generally use bleach anywhere they can reach/walk.) They also installed the wrong handles (white instead of the brushed nickel type I ordered). In addition, they left a large carabiner like stump sticking out of my wall. The one side they sealed, smeared all over the side of my wall, meaning they I had to paint over their sloppy work. The they did not seal the other side at all! On top of my French door frame there are huge (!) globs of sealant they did not wipe off and which dried since I did not notice it soon enough. Since they are Lowe's installer, I had to go through Lowe's to call in all the errors and omissions. It took until this spring (almost a year) for some (not all!!) of these mistakes to be fixed. Stay away from this company!! Even if it costs you more to go through a reputable company, it'll be well worth the money. Trust me! I learned the hard way!! Not Mike, he showed me respect answered all my questions throughout the entire process and He always replied via email or a call in a timely manner. He set my install date up a few days after the ETA of the door, which I ordered from Lowe's. Do not use Windowfits for new window installation. This is the company Lowes used to subcontract out the work for $30,000 worth of windows. The promised 3-4 day installation ended up taking 4 months due to a litany of mistakes, poor workmanship, and lax hours worked. Windowfits then subs out to another 3rd party for installation but is still the main POC. The original measurements were done by Omar (Windowfits), however the installation crew works for Fausto ( sub for Windowfits). After waiting 12 weeks for my windows, five of the windows were measured too big for the opening (Omar) so had to be reordered ( 12 more weeks). The remeasured windows by Fausto's crew fit this time around but a few were too narrow leaving large gaps. One side was not even nailed to the stud and the flashing was not properly attached. I ended up having my stucco contractor fix these mistakes to properly seal the window. Large gaps on the interior of almost 1 inch were filled with caulking and then fell out a few days later. I told the crew at the time that it does not look right but was told," don't worry sir, this is paintable caulking so you won't even notice."My master bath window had a large crack in the outer pane at Lowe's warehouse. They installed it and ordered a new piece of glass to be installed later. When the new piece arrived the installers dropped it in my master bedroom, shattering it. This caused another 4 -5 week delay. Installers are also very messy and left lots of nails on my roof, gutters, and driveway. They didn't even bring plastic sheeting to cover items in my home. I had to do this myself. I have only touched the surface of this train wreck Lowes and Windowfits ( more like mis-fits) is responsible for. I reached out to Lowes Robert Reyburn (district manager) but was told to contact installation support which was useless. There is no accountability at all. Lowes is in it to find the cheapest installer to pad their profits so I was stuck with Windowfits. Please save yourself the headaches, time, money, and stress and use a reputable window/door company. We purchased a "high-end" Titan aluminum security door through Lowes. Lowes has an agreement with Window Fits such that Window Fits supplies the measurements and final installation of the door. We were extremely pleased with the service that both Lowes and Window Fits provided for this door. The Window Fits agent who handled our order (Daniel Galindo) was, as the other reviews state, professional, friendly and informative. In our case the job became complicated because our front door did not meet the size requirements for a standard Titan door. Midway in the process we also made a change to our door framing which required a re-measure. A unique situation with respect to our door threshold also required careful planning. Throughout the entire process, Daniel patiently measured, re-measured and explained the various options. He was totally focused on our being happy with the end product. He knew the various details of this particular door extremely well. So yesterday our security door was installed and we couldn't be happier!(pictures attached below). We use Window Fits through Lowe's as the installer and they were one of the most incompetent companies that we've had the experience of working with. They measured the window incorrectly by 5 inches and could not install it and then had to re-order the window again through Lowe's which again came in with the same incorrect measurements. They then had to order at the window a third time and when I ask them for confirmation of the measurements for what they ordered they told me they were not able to do that and I should call Lowes. Each time they would come out the day before install the scaffolding then remove it the next day when the window is the incorrect size and expand their labor however when I ask them to confirm the correct window measurements that was too much for them to do. I just had a security screen door installed by Window Fits. Employee Johnny, came out and took the measurements and when it was ready to be installed, Johnny did the installation. He called me 15 minutes before his arrival and confirmed I was home and ready for the installation. Johnny is a true professional. He had everything he needed to do the job from start to finish. He even brought a large trash bag and took all the screen packaging and trash with him and then vacuumed the area for his final clean up. The door was installed flawlessly, and fits like a glove. He even rekeyed the screen door to match my house key so I won't need two sets of keys to enter my house. What a guy! Hello Yelpers. Window Fits installed a pantry door in my kitchen ordered through Loew's in Murrieta. Unfortunately, the project didn't go as expected. Window Fits has a massive contract with Loew's, for just installing what is purchased from Loew's. The door that was delivered should never have been installed because it had several defects which weren't addressed by Window Fits. Basically they install whatever piece of crap Loew's gives them and you're on your own to get it sorted, which is what I'm doing now. read more

Had the unfortunate experience of working with this company through Lowes when I wanted to purchase a security screen door. I knew I was going to need an installer so I asked at Lowes and they charged me 40$ to have this company come out and "Measure" First of all, they don't answer the phone and they don't return messages. After trying every day I finally got someone and scheduled an istallation appointment. The dude never showed up, didn't call, nothing. So I called back and scheduled a second appointment. There was someone home in the backyard, but guy said no one was home and left. Third time the charm, guy showed up and got the measurement done. Three days later I get the results... I need a custom door and not only do I have to buy the security screen, I need a new entry door as well. Well, my house is nothing special and I am just damn sure I don't need a custom anything. The door I want to purchase is 280$ and the quote came back at 1200 for the install only, not counting the purchase of the door and accessories. That's a big fat NO for me. No to being so hard to work with and schedule, no to adding on things I don't need and no to four times an actual reasonable installation cost. They opened the door and it was so damaged that it could not be installed--significant flaws in the finish, several splits in the molding and the door. There were two installers--one experienced and one helper. The helper was not adequately trained and was VERY inattentive in all that he did. They pushed the corner of my new window through my awning (-1000$). Then, they left a solvent soaked rag sitting on my nightstand. It ate all of the way through the finish of my furniture. (-1000$). If you are looking to pay a company for the priveledge of having your personal property destroyed-- then this is the company for you. The job was not done to my standard or satisfaction. I normally read reviews before choosing a company to hire for my home. I had previously replaced windows on another home in the past, but could not find the name or the number for the company. They did excellent work. At a loss, I went to Lowe's because I had no problems with jobs they completed in the past such as replacing carpet and tile. Setting up for this job was smooth. however, this ordeal has been a nightmare. This company is the worst I have ever dealt with. Through Lowe's I was assigned this company to install my 11 windows and to replace a sliding door with french doors. (I've always dreamt about having french doors) The installation dates were set for January 8th and 9th. The job cost me close to $20,000.00. The installers (led by manager Fausto) installed the french doors crooked which led to the doors not sitting flushed within the frames and gaps showing daylight along the sides of the doors. The manufacturer (Milgard) sent their staff to find out if it was a problem with the window panels. They verified the doors were in good shape but the installers had not leveled the door frame when they had installed it and the frame was sagging. A period of six months had transpired in which the Milgard and Windowfits fought on who was at fault for the crooked door. At one point an Inspector was hired to resolve the problem and find out who was at fault. It was determined Windowfits had not installed it properly. Despite the decision from this outside company, Windowfits refused to repair the job. Calling Lowe's was useless. Windowfits do not answer their phones or return messages. Lowe's takes no responsibility for the company they contracted with. They did not intervene. The Lowe's Installation Department was contacted frequently but it did not appear they had a major stake in this matter. I don't know what step or person was able to finally push them to settle this (maybe a call to Lowe's Headquarter?). In early May, representatives from Lowe's, Milgard and Fausto from Windowfits showed up at my residence to inspect the work that had been completed. On May 30th, Windowfits returned and worked on the door frame trying to level it. They did not reinstall the frame which should have been done. They added nails to the sagging section. It is not perfect as there remains a gap on the top left corner of the door frame. Also, around the frame is caulking that was not smooth down by the installer. This past weekend (July 20, 2024), Milgard returned and replaced the door panels. The door is no way perfect, but it is better than previously installed. I have learned an expensive lesson through this ordeal to avoid Lowe"s and Windowfits for any future renovations. Over six months waiting for repairs is ridiculous and demonstrates Lowe"s and Windowfits do not value their customers! Please do not waste your money or your time. read more
