Iggy is more than just a talented cobbler; he is an absolute legend! He and his shop have been around for 20-40 years or so. Every time I walk into his shop, I'm greeted with seeing how diligent and tired he is to do it all by himself. Unbeatable prices too. In the many years ago, I've lost count of how many pairs of shoes I've brought to him over the years, and I trust him completely with all of them--especially my favorite name-brand heels and boots. He treats every pair with such care, and I honestly hope he stays in business forever because I'm definitely going to keep him busy! I tend to wear my shoes down "like cray-cray," which always makes me think of my absolute favorite fairy tale from childhood: The 12 Dancing Princesses. You know, that story about the twelve royal sisters who would sneak out every night to dance until their shoes were worn completely through? I feel like a modern-day version of them minus the dancing lol but just daily usages, every time I drop off a bag of shoes at Iggy's! He is respectful and pleasant so there is nothing else to be desired and I will definitely return for future work. -Cash only -Looks like he gets busy so it's ideal to drop off items well in advance of any dates you may need them for. If you go to Shoe Wiz in Carson STOP! This place right here is the best good prices however it's a 1 Man show so be patient getting your items back. But when you do they look brand new! I was afraid to have any one touch them.. but the soles were coming apart and it was now or never. Ignacio not only repaired them but cleaned them up and they look almost brand new again!!! Whindham is very professional and offers a great service. I asked him the three pair of shoes for getting soles and heels protection work done. He finished them within a week and the total work costed me about $98. The only star I left to give is because this place accepts cash only. My mom told me about Windham shoe repair, so I brought my black dress shoes there this week. The soles were peeling away from the shoe, as the 11 year old glue wore out. I don't wear these much, but had them since 2006, so the soles were still thick and the shoes were in good condition. The owner charged $18 to repair. I picked them up when he opened, and noticed some glue spots that smeared on the side, plus some glue prints from his fingers. I called and left a message. Since my cell is out of state, he had his daughter call me from her cell. That's good effort. I was told to bring them back and get them cleaned up. He took care of me and removed the glue marks. I took a pair of shoes that I love and have worn well to Windham Shoe Repair. The heels were worn to a nub, and the leather was very worn and scratched. The shoes looked like they were ready for retirement. However, I love the comfort of the shoes so I wanted to get a little more life out of them. I took them to Windham to see about getting new heels. When I picked them up a few days later, they looked like a BRAND NEW PAIR OF SHOES!!!! Saw most the reviews for Windham were 5 stars and it was a convenient location for me. Went there to get my heel savers put on my dress shoes. Had gone to Kim's Shoe repair on VaNess st. for the same thing but had them come off twice within a 2 week period. Never had that happen before. Anyways Kim's wasn't going to get anymore of my money. This guy is legit! I found some vintage leather boots at a thrift store. They had broken stiletto tips. I was concerned about fixing them because the shape of the tip was so unique. He quoted me a very affordable price and they were done within a week. When I went to pick them up- he polished the boots for me. I will bring all my shoes here. There has not been a shoe, sandal, or shoe insert he has not been able to repair. Every time I go in the guy that runs the shop is friendly and helpful. I've never had to wait too long for my shoes to be returned. I took my motorcycle riding boots to have the soles replaced, they were worn out. They put better soles on than what originally came on the boots. Reasonably priced, had them back to me by the promised date. No complaints. The only take cash though, keep that in mind when you go. read more
