I have adopted dogs there for 25 years. The staff is great and really try to match the perfect fit for dog and owner. Thanks for all you do!

It was clear to me that they really know each of their cats and care for them very well--they took the time to get to know me and understand what I was looking for, and suggested a cat who seemed like the perfect fit. They both were eager to answer all of my many questions throughout the process and even helped me out by dropping my new kitty off since I don't have a car. My girl had a few minor health issues after arriving (most likely due to the stress of moving/change in food) and Susan offered me advice about different things I could try and followed up numerous times to make sure she was settling in okay. The process overall couldn't have been any smoother and I am so appreciative of Guardian Angels and the care and diligence they put into finding good homes for all of their cats. If I ever decide to adopt another cat I'll definitely work with them again.

All have vet visits, great food, and most importantly, attention and caring to help their transition from whatever their previous situation was. The fostering process is great at getting the cats ready for their new homes. If you're looking for a cat, I suggest Guardian Angels without reservation!

Recently I adopted, and every one there felt like they were going through the motions. It was a very weird experience, no compassion detected. I recall years ago, in the old place as noisy as it was, it was a hub for outreach and information. There was a passionate spirit. This place feels like a hospital, with very little staff and an uninterested one.

The staff love and care for these pets like they were their own. We adopted our first dog in 2011 and to this day, there are still people at the shelter who remember him from when he was there! The trainers do everything in their power to teach the dogs commands to make sure they are well-behaved. One of our dogs learned commands by hand signals while he was there! Also, all of the pets are given full veterinary care, including all their vaccines and getting spayed/neutered. It is part of their policy and NOT ILLEGAL as the clown from New Jersey stated in the negative review he left from 2018. Every shelter spays and neuters their cats and dogs to prevent further overpopulation of "unwanted" pets and also prevent puppy mills. How were they to know that the guy was actually going to get the puppy fixed in NJ?? Disregard his ridiculous review. If you want to get a wonderful family pet, I HIGHLY recommend Second Chance in VT!

I had time to look around at everything I needed. I was stopping in to find a test-kit for my fish tank since I am having issues. I have gone broke trying to get this 29 gallon tank!!!!! So I was very surprised when Dan, had a 30 minutes talk with me, answering my questions, steering me down a sensible path and saving me a lot more money then I was needing to spend. I thought their tanks were great for a busy store. Fish were pretty and looked very healthy. They had a superb selection of live plants, tank backgrounds, fish foods, plant foods, etc. They did have pricey tank decor but that is the #1 observation I have made everywhere, tank decor is as expensive as gas. This store is 35 minutes away from my house, I will be going there and considering this my "GO-TO" fish store. Out of the 5 I have been to, they are reasonable in pricing all around. They could be a little less, but they could also be a little more. This price issue is a reason I will continue to return for mostly affordable fish tank needs. Dan is GREAT! I hope to grow a long term relationship with this staff member as his knowledge, kindness, willingness, and courtesy to save me money, made this a 5 star review! I will call ahead if I can to see if he is working, so I know I am getting consistent advice of how to be a aquarium hobbyist. Thank you OSCP!!

Last time I was in someone said they would go get my order in the back. She seemed the only employee on the floor. I had talked to this same person in the morning to put the order because I pressed for time when I came by to get it. I think she's is getting my order. I wait. And wait. The store is almost empty. More that five minutes later I find her in an aisle having a long chatty conversation with the only other customers in the store. She see's me amd says oh yeah I'll go get your order now. Some time later it shows up on one of the counters but nobody tells me its there. Someone else shows up to check me out (back from break I guess). I ask a question about shampoo as she begins to check me out, decide not to get it and turn to pur it back on the shelf. When I turn around she has moved my stuff aside and is checking somebody else out. It is now 20 min that I've been waiting to pay for an order that was ready before I arrived and this is tue second time I've been put sdie for so.eone else while someone was supposedly helping me. I speak up saying I'm next and that I've been waiting a long time. For this I get yelled at in front of the other customers. All these individuals have been helpful and pleasant other times. But perhaps some kind of protocol for dealing w rush situations would be ideal, like if you are the only one on the floor call for help when someone is waiting a really long time and don't tell them you are working on something and abandon task to chat at length and maybe don't yell at customers for speaking up because you don't know what their experience has been until they tell you.
