Since they said nothing, I assumed he had a bath but in a few days his hair starting falling out until he had large areas of only red skin and it turned out while in Dr Kane's care, he had been involved in a chemical spill which both she and her staff kept quiet. My kitten also was burned inside his mouth and tongue so eating was very difficult as i was feeding with a suringe, watering his canned food. Took him to a new vet in Ridge and she took photos and sent them to Dr Kane, showing her the damage which occured while he was under her care. She only said she was unaware it was that bad. What else did she think a chemical spill would do to a kitten? Dr Sawyer in Ridge had Dr Kane pay the billl as my kitten remained under Dr Sawyers' care several weeks until he was able to come home. What vet is aware a patient has chemicals spill all over the animal and does nothing and more, tries to hide it from the owner but willingly takes payment? (which she only returned once Dr Sawyer from Rindge NH took over his emergency care) I do not reccomend Dr Kane in any way but if you really love your pet, highly suggest taking your pet to Dr Sawyer in Rindge NH. If my kitten had not been seen by Dr Sawyer, he would have died.

So I felt that I needed to look for a local vet instead. Four days ago I took my cat to a different, local vet (It was NOT Family Pet) to have a skin condition looked at and treated.... and that visit was one of my worst experiences with any veterinary hospital. The only good thing was that my cat was handled kindly throughout the examination. THEREFORE, I've decided that I am returning to Family Pet. It's over an hours' drive away from where I now live, but their level of care is worth it. Dr. Sue Mowcomber has always treated my pets - and me - with kindness and compassion. She also let me be with them while she examined them and she always explained her recommended treatments (what they were, why she chose certain options and she answered my questions). Family Pet's prices were always very fair, too. After what I just experienced at a local vet, I wish I'd never left Family Pet. Hopefully that will be remedied just as soon as I can get an appointment with Family Pet.

Other vets I have been to, good and bad, would put several options and then say "well, what do you think is best?" How would I know, I'm not a vet. I've watched every episode of Doc McStuffins but that is as far as it goes. The guidance and direction went all the way to the end when we eventually had to say that last goodbye. They knew it was time and were gentle and understanding that it just sucks and though you'll always want one more walk or snuggle on the couch, it's not fair to your friend who is in pain with no relief in sight. Today I went to pick up my new buddy from a procedure. On the counter there was a candle and a nice note asking people to be mindful that someone was saying that hard farewell. It was just another way that shows me that they care about their clients regardless of how many legs they have and inspired me to write this review.

Most people know doodles are very hard to care for their hair. I absolutely do my best to care for her. Yes, she was matted, and I was okay with shaving her for the summer and keeping her comfortable. Me and my husband dropped her off, and my husband picked her up because I could not. It cost us 200$!! I know my husband paid the bill he didn't know what to do since I wasn't there to back him up on it. Yes, my doodle was matted, and I was aware, and she needed shaved down. They charge way too much for services they charged 50$ for matting, which she was shaved completely down, so they didn't demat her. She is a 25lb mini golden doodle. Her face is all chopped up uneven cut. Her ears are dirty they were never cleaned, and nails are sharp and not buffered, which was included in the service. Also has razor/clipper burns. I left a review on facebook explaining my opinion and experience. The owner, Danielle, blocked me from the Facebook page, After she came up with every excuse in the book for each complaint I had. She also didn't groom my dog. Our groomer stated my dog did great during the grooming, and Daniemle said she didn't and has video footage, which she will not show me. All I asked was for a refund, and I would be gone. She said no refunds, which is nowhere stated on the website or forms. They offered to fix her, but I refused to go back after they botched her. They also removed my review from google. I also posted a photo of Leela previously groomed at another groomer that was done correctly!

The momma cat ran away. Momma cat had an appointment today 1/28 and we forgot to cancel. My husband received a call from the Vet stating we needed to pay for the visit and going forward we would have to prepay for all appointments. Apparently, there is a policy that exists. Clients are only made aware of this when they miss an appointment. This gives the practice manager the ability to enforce the policy whenever they feel free to do so. Usually, we receive an email and a call stating that we have an appointment for the animals a day or 2 in advance. According to my husband neither of these reminders happened. i have spent thousands of dollars for my pets with this office and in the end they told me that I needed to take care elsewhere. I am a little disappointed with the way the practice manager handled the situation. I think the vet and the vet techs and the reception are amazing. However, if a policy exists it should be shared with clients when they establish care. Or it could be attached to the email when they send reminder calls. I believes this is an excellent, comprehensive, compassionate place for the animals. If I were to rate this based on today´s experience it would not be good. I do feel that if there are rules they should be shared with the customers. The practice manager should fix her process to ensure everyone knows the rules. Practice managers are suppose to fix processes. unfortunately, I need to rate.

He dropped to the floor, became paralyzed in the back end and was crying out in pain. It was close to opening time so we were able to get him to SFVH immediately. Upon our arrival we had to wait as he was crying out in pain. We stayed calm and waited until Dr. Broady finished up with a client. We should have been taken right in. Everyone heard our cat crying. He was in a lot of pain. We had gotten the diagnosis he had a stroke. Dr. Broady kept talking to us as our cat was still crying out in pain and then he started panting and the vet tech had to say "Doc what are we going to do for Axl." Like let's get going! He needed to see a Cardiologist so about a week or so later he saw one at SFVH. We were told we'd get to speak with the Cardiologist. That never happened. I had also asked if I could be with our cat as I was worried he'd be scared without me being with him after all he'd been through. I was told no as it was a small room and there wasn't enough room for another person. I was told we would be sent the report by Thursday. It was a bit hectic there and I had questions but I figured I'd ask at a later time. Two days later I received a call in the morning from Dr. Broady asking how Axl was and then he proceeded to tell me that wasn't the reason why he was calling and he started yelling at me and questioning me about something I had nothing to do with and had no knowledge of! After he had his tantrum he hung up on me! I had not received Axl's echo report so on Sunday the 29th I sent an email asking for the report if they had it and I asked some other questions I had regarding Axl's care. On Monday, just before closing I received the report with a letter from Dr. Broady that due to my interactions and behavior with his staff over the last few weeks he would no longer be treating our cats. WHAT?! I asked for specifics as to what he was referring to because I had no clue what caused him to say that. I never got an answer. He left us hanging with a cat that has CHF and a report we don't understand and have questions that never did get answered and more questions after seeing the report. What kind of vet acts like he did and leaves a client with a cat that has CHF hanging with no medical care? He should be ashamed of himself! After this all took place I got to thinking about things. There has never been more dental cleanings and extractions done with our cats since we started going there. Were they really necessary? I'm beginning to think not! Also, how can there be one vet and you're open only four days a week from 8-5 take on new clients all the time or take in "emergencies" from a non client? Perhaps he is loosing patients? Either they leave due to his attitude or he drops them at will when he gets a bug up his butt! Beware of this so called vet with his Jekyll and Hyde attitude. And yes, a complaint has been sent to the MA state licensing board regarding his actions.
