I adopted a beautiful dachshund from them in 2012, Ollie was with me until he passed away at over 15 years old. This animal shelter is all about the animals. The people were super, the facility so clean, & the animals well taken care of, the adoption process was great. My wife and I had this humane society neuter one of our dogs. They had the best price on the procedure. I wish they opened a little bit earlier in the morning, but they were willing to keep our dog there until my wife got out of work and was able to pick him up. I've been in a fair number of animal shelters over the years but have never encountered one that was so well-maintained without the heavy stink of chemical cleaners filling the halls. Each dog has a nicely maintained room with periodic access to an enclosed play area and the opportunity to take walks around the wooded grounds. Cats have shared play areas and individual shelved crates to retreat to for sleep or alone time. The staff are quite knowledgeable about the quirks and issues of each animal and are more interested in finding a suitable pet-to-human match than they are to simply process the animal out the door to make room for the next one. We made several visits there before deciding on a dog and have since returned to enroll the dog in on-site obedience classes (it was helpful that they knew the dog's history). The adoption fees were quite reasonable considering the going rate and the amount of medical treatment that the animals receive during their stay. read more

We adopted a 4 month old kitten here. The people are wonderfully kind. The process may seem long for some, but it definitely has the animals best interest at heart. They allowed time to introduce my dog to the kitten, another day to allow my kids to meet all available. We absolutely have the best fit for our family and couldn't be happier.
