I must say. I Love this Winco location!! It is worth the drive from Renton. Always fully stocked. No long lines to check out. Parking is plentiful. I can actually Shop in Peace. The isles have so much space. I don't have to say excuse me to get by someone because there is actually enough room. I really like the layout of this Winco. Terribly messy and dirty parking lot!! There was an insane amount of garbage in the parking lot everywhere in the parking lot. It is also inconvenient to shop here because they only accept debit cards or cash. I would think if they had a manager of that store, that they would take some interest in the cleanliness of the parking lot. It has obviously not been cleaned in years. Late night there is an older lady with extremely bad attitude. I understand not enjoying the late shift, but I came up with kindness and was treated like I was garbage. Lots of stockers at night so I try to keep out of their way, but most will move if you need something I'm sure. I just try not to bother people doing their jobs. Prices are winco prices which is why I go. Unfortunately would have been 5 stars if I wasn't treated how I was. Reminder: be nice to people. Treat others with kindness. Try your best because if you are having a bad day, maybe making someone else's day better will make yours better. The opposite can happen as well. Was having a good day until this. I tried to be uplifting and was greeted with rudeness. Genuinely would not be as upset if it wasn't so unprovoked and unnecessary. I gave 2 stars because others are nice and other times with other staff I have had decent experiences. Old lady with grey hair at night just likes to be mean I suppose. If this was my only visit-it would have been 0 stars. Usually only one checker late at night so I suppose I was just unlucky tonight. EDIT: This is the only reason I downloaded this app and gave a review. If people did not get angry because they had to do their actual job then I would be happy and chill. I am known to be nice. But this was just extremely upsetting. So upsetting I had to go through all this to make sure others are aware that there is an old child working who does not want to be working apparently. read more

Lori N. Is by far the worst customer service experience I have had. On 1/29 my mom and I were checking out at self check out and she was very rude, giving us dirty looks and making condescending faces and remarks, acting like a total child. I don't know if she was mad because she had to come over twice and fix the screen or what but it's very disappointing that winco hires people like that. I don't know if she has a problem with Hispanic people but she didn't talk or treat anyone else that she was helping like that. It's sad to see elderly minorities being treated like this by people that are supposed to be of service to them. read more

I purchased fresh vegetables including one bag of red potatoes, one small bag of russet potatoes and one bunch of fresh celery. These products were anything but good, the celery was limp and warm to touch. Both bags of potatoes had molded potatoes and soft mushy ones, and they smelled terrible!!! Thought I had written a review for this Winco but I don't see it..... This is the newest Winco that is on my way to my brothers. I find myself finding reasons to go visit him on Sundays so I can shop at this Winco. It is super clean, not crowded and has lots of upscale items that the other Winco's don't have (think Whole Foods). I can even get the family to stop and shop with me at this location. As with all Winco's the prices are fantastic and the staff is nice/helpful. Definitely the nicest Winco in South King/North Pierce County. read more

I have always gone to this winco since I have moved to Sumner and since Covid they have been really good about policies with Covid 19 but I was just there tonight and I saw multiple people walking around with no masks, we are have gone back in to phase 1 in just this past month because of rising cases, you would think it be more serious now than every to enforce the mandate!!! I visited the store 9/2/23 at approximately 9:00 pm. Visitor for the first time in the state of Washington to visit Mount Rainier. We stopped by this store to buy Shelly food for hiking the following day. The store was not busy at all. As we were checking out the lady at the counter who I described as an Asian descent, lady wearing a lot of makeup. I sincerely apologize that I was not able to get her name nor the number of the register we were in. My point is that as we were checking out, my husband was purchasing a Michelada beer. She proceeded to ask him for an ID my husband who has dual citizenship did not have his Texas drivers license on him so he showed her his Mexico ID. She stated that she could not take that ID since it was from Mexico. I asked her where in the store policy it stated that she could not take an ID from another country to purchase alcohol. She stated she could not take the ID since it was from Mexico. I then told her "you're telling me that someone that visits from another country can't purchase alcohol in the states and her response was not from Mexico." She then told me that we needed to go back, and I said, what do you mean go back and she retracted and said I didn't say that. I was very upset, and could not believe that I was being discriminated for showing an ID for Mexico. I asked to speak to a manager. Cashier next to her, which was a tall older white man agreed with her about the Mexico ID. My husband,is very shy and does not like attention asked for us to please leave. We left all our food We're going to buy on the conveyor belt and we walked out. My husband said he was not going to spend his money at a store where we were being discriminated for showing Mexico ID. I was so upset and could not believe what was happening. I wish I would have recorded this woman and how she told us to go back and then took back her words. We were visiting the state of Washington, for the first time which we fell in love with. And I know that the treatment from that woman does not reflect on the store but on her own racial beliefs. read more

Love the prices, large produce selection, great prices in bulk foods that beat the price of prepackaged, and friendly staff. I have always felt the store is safe and secure. I looooove this Winco. I was about to give up on Winco altogether when I had a bad experience at the Federal Way Winco. I'm a cheapskate and love my savings, but when I feel like I'm going to get PTSD just from grocery shopping, I know that saving a few dollars isn't really worth it. Unlike other Winco's, this Winco is generally not overcrowded, and on the off chance that it is crowded, people are cordial and say "excuse me" if they need to reach behind you. In addition, people here seem to be considerate while shopping. I have yet to see or hear unsupervised children running around the store like it's a playground. Since there is only 2 grocery stores in my town this is the one I use the most. Why? -Open 24 hours -Kept clean -5 minutes from my home -Right next to Hwy 410 and the Shell gas station -only store I can go to and leave with maybe 12 bags filled with grocery for about 100 dollars. Rapidly expanding chain, for a good reason, good prices here, friendly workers who the company treats right WINCO BTW stands for Washington, Idaho, Nevada, California and Oregon. If you see a Winco store I highly recommend them, the drawback is you do have to bag your own groceries, but from what I've seen, if you are unable to do so, they will do it for you if requested. read more

Have loved Winco since living in Reno. There is no finer store to get groceries, at least in Sumner. The one in Federal Way is a dump compared to this one. If you've never been to Winco, their standard M.O. is cheap food. With that in mind... Pros: 1. Great prices. 2. Fairly good selection, they have organic foods (limited) and a good range of items available in produce. 3. They have a decent bulk foods section 4. Convenient access to highways. Cons: 1. It gets super busy. 2. You have to bag your own groceries 3. The store's set up is kinda confusing - I had to make a few laps before finding everything I need. My girlfriend and I love this Winco! We live in Orting and don't mind the drive at all to get here and save money over our local Safeway. The store is clean, usually not too busy and the savings are phenomenal! I actually talked my girlfriend out of buying groceries at Costco because she would always over buy what was used and waste a lot (especially the produce items). I think Winco beats out Costco on food prices anyway and we have fresh produce anytime we need it. We take the back way from Orting so it's a nice short drive without traffic. Some of my favorites are the great prices on my favorite bread (Killer Daves) and the Rocket Java coffee. I also don't mind bagging my own groceries. I was a "helper clerk" when I was a kid at Safeway and I do it like it's a competition to see if I can stay ahead of the flow of groceries coming down the belt. Easily worth the money we save on the grocery bill! A big bakery and deli and plenty of prepped fresh items make this Winco a winner in my book. read more

I understand all the stuff with COVID, I'm a person with COPD and severe breathing/asthma. I went to WinCo today to shop, and felt horrible by the time I left. I'm shopping minding my own business and I'm being talked about, I'm being glared at, and given dirty looks. They made an announcement about wearing masks and I'm the only one with out one so I know it's directed at me. I decide I was tired of all the looks and whispering about me so I go to check out. The cashier spoke to the lady in front of me and customers behind me when it was their turn. I didn't feel any thing said to me not how's your day, not here is your change, and not even have a good day. I got lots of rude looks and when my transaction was done she started using hand sanitizer and wiping stuff down before I could even leave her site. I've never been treated so poorly and been looked at like I'm scum until today. All around horrible experience, and I have a medical history and documentation verifying that I can't wear a mask, but that was not ever asked. It was the worst experience ever. read more

First time shopping at this Winco, or any Winco for that matter. I'm presently surprised by the variety and quality of products sold here. Also, the price on 90% of items is defiantly cheaper than other stores like Fred Meyer, Albertsons & Safeway. Staff are nice, isles are kept clean, didn't see any rotten produce or dairy products close to expiration. Bagging your groceries really isn't that bad either. Here's the rundown of this location. It's only a handful of months old, so it's still really clean and for the most part, organized. You can always find good, and borderline great, deals here seven days a week. The two biggest cons for me are they don't accept credit cards, and you have to bag your own groceries. It's the trade off for the low prices I suppose, so I'll deal with it. Biggest pro of WinCo though is that it isn't Walmart. read more

I love that Winco is open 24 hours/day. We prefer shopping anytime after 11pm...no lines or waiting... it's great! The Summer store is always clean, well stocked, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Winco is our favorite place to go grocery shopping; great prices and availability of items. The freshly made/deli section has yummy options at very reasonable prices. Not to mention the best guacamole that we've ever tried! I have been a Winco shopper for many years. I used to live out by Covington, but if I was going to Federal Way Costco, Winco was close. Then they opened one in Kent. Shopped there regularly. Now I'm in Sumner and shop here. I have a neighbor who works for Winco and gave me the lowdown on the different locations. The stores are stocked according to the area's demographics. So yes, the Kent store is very culturally diverse, and the items they stock reflect that. Same with Federal Way. Us lucky Sumner area people have a nice, clean store because of our demographics. The people there all seem happy, because it is their store, and they take pride in it. It's like having our own "special" store! Great selection, great prices, great people. I do about 90% of my shopping there, supplemented by a few things I get at Fred Meyer. Oh, and they don't take credit cards because they would get charged for every transaction. The prices are low, the store is clean, the isle ways are HUGE and of course, the most important part, is that the people who work there are extremely friendly and helpful!!!! One person in particular helped me decide to write this review, Bobby S who works in the Deli. Helped me get some salmon (btw, their salmon is great) and while he was doing that, I asked him what he was mixing on the table behind him. Ahi Tuna Poke, he offered me a sample and I ended up buying a container of it. It was delicious! Then, on to check out where I was greeted with a "hey love, how's your day going? Did you find everything ok?" I wish I would have caught her name because she is a great checker!!!! PLUS, it's an employee owned store!!! So I usually shop here but back to Safeway for me I guess. Just was at the store bad saw what appeared to be a homeless guy and his tweaked girlfriend, shopping in the meat section with their large dog. No service dog vest no indication that that was the case. When I questioned an employee they said they weren't allowed to ask if it was a service dog. So by that standard my mastiff is good my shopping with me next year time. He's not particularly a clean dog and drools a lot but I guess it's the ok. Or I'll just shop somewhere else. read more

I come here every two weeks for groceries and they go beyond the standard every time. The shelves are fully stocked 9/10 times and have great deals! I can get a full cart of food for around $120 each time for a family of 3. The store is always clean and staff is friendly. They also have a large selection of produce in different seasons so I can find most of the the different fruits and veggies I want. I also like that they sell organic and vegan products!
