Had to give one star, the night staff on October 11, 2025, were terrible. The random female worker was unnecessarily rude. And the cashier man was throwing our food around. It was not needed, now you might think that since we are college age kids that we were causing a ruckus but we weren't they were just rude to us. It was horrible. We drove 1 1/2 hours to go there to do our annual monthly shopping. we spent about 1 hour shopping. got to the check out like we have done many time. We wrote a check showed our ID. registered wouldn't process it, then they did it again. still wouldn't, they said it is a new system. we took out credit card. they said they don't take that. they only take cash or debit card. I told them them forget it and walked out. left our full cart there. I will start shopping else where. I use to like them too. not anymore. read more

If you live in Pullman, keep in mind that Idaho has sales tax on food of 6%. At this time, the gas bill for the trip can add $10, so I wait until I have enough in Ibotta and other refunds to cover my opportunity costs. If you just go and expect a lower bill, you might not be happy when you add it all up. Winco's store brands for OTCs, canned and frozen food, and households are priced like it's 1999 and good quality. Docked a star for the potholes in the parking lot, but that might not be their fault. read more

They have just about anything for a ood low price and have many interesting foods/snacks that make shopping (or wandering) very fun.

WinCO is a great place for cheap everyday items and non-perishables but I would not reccomend anything that needs to be bought fresh (besides the bakery)... the meats, fruits, and veggies are often scary and seem to be low-grade. Another attractor for this supermarket (besides the lowest prices in town) is the silos of candies, pastas, spices, and other foods. You can get bulk ingredients or treats at a very low cost, which is great for stocking your kitchen. Beware! WinCO does NOT take credit cards! (only debit) read more

You don't have to raise your voice, roll your eyes, and give an attitude to tell me something so simple. I would kindly walk over there and get the code for you instead. It's the best place in town to stock up on groceries. I'll compare the other two grocery stores I like, but which aren't *the* place to stock up: The Safeway on the other side of town is more convenient for me, and has a decent pharmacy built in. Like WinCo, everyone is friendly and helpful, but WinCo has significantly better prices, even considering Safeway's loyalty card. The Moscow Food Co-op is also great, but somehow I spend a fair amount of money every time I go in there. I feel OK about that because I think they treat employees fairly and there is always a great selection of really good locally sourced foods. And although WinCo's deli is fine, the Deli/Coffee Bar at the Co-op is in a different league with amazing hot food, plus the cozy, welcoming seating area, and occasional live music. At WinCo, I really like the bulk foods, especially the grind-it-on-the-spot almond butter and peanut butter. (The Moscow Food Co-op is the other place I know with fresh-ground peanut butter and bulk foods, but a bit more expensive.) The prices and selection are great, and I like not wasting or paying for a bunch of dumb packaging and marketing. They have bulk spices, all kinds of nuts, pastas, flours, dried fruit, candies, even dry dog food. (Oh, WalMart groceries: Just Say No. Surprisingly, they're not the best prices, not the best quality, and WalMart is still kind of evil.) As other reviewers have mentioned, the produce isn't always today's freshest, straight from the field, but it's the same as Safeway: It spent another day or two on a truck compared to a big city on the coast. But if you shop for seasonal produce, they're great, with the best prices. For example, last summer, I could afford all the avocados I could eat thanks to Winco, while they were really expensive elsewhere. They have a good cheese and dairy selection and again, great prices, and the bakery seems fine (I don't buy much baked stuff). Oh, they had super cheap, really tasty pumpkin pies before Thanksgiving. My hungry teenagers loved them. I'll keep going to the Moscow Food Co-op for local produce and a hot meal/coffee from their Deli, and Safeway for medicines and quick trips when I run out of milk or eggs, but to stock up for the month/week, WinCo is the place. read more

Winco has low prices and a large selection of products. They have a huge produce section, bakery section, etc. It is worth the trip over from Pullman, because it is much cheaper than the two grocery stores there. As an added bonus their bagels are really good. Now, I'm a New Yorker originally, so I take my bagels seriously. These taste like New York bagels, though they are a bit smaller than most of the ones you would get there. It would be a 5/5 if they took credit cards. A friend suggested I drive to Moscow for groceries instead of paying high prices in Pullman. I am SO glad I took his suggestion!! WinCo, how I love thee! So, the prices are cheap, the store is clean and best of all (!!!) They have a bulk bin buying section. This is so great when you are just buying groceries for one person! You can buy individual tea bags and just enough oatmeal for a week. I got about two weeks of food for just 40 bucks. I will be doing most of my shopping here from now on! read more

My favorite grocery store......Of. All. Time. I can't think of anywhere else where I would eat for weeks for right around $30 (yes this was in the college days at WSU). Not only are the prices cheap, but the food quality is comparable to some of the more expensive places overe here on the West side of the state. You bag your own groceries, but who can complain when you're getting such a discount on a variety of items. The day they started to take debit cards (which was like 2005 or so) was when this place turned to a full-fledged 5/5. Winco, how much I miss you. I love Winco!! I have been a loyal customer for a few years and I love saving money on groceries. My favorite is the bulk area, there are good selection of nuts, spices, baking goods, candy treats, and cookies, dried fruit selection, even doggy treats. As far as I know, Winco and Co-Op are the only grocery stores that offer bulk section in the area. I also like the frozen section--frozen vegetables, there are varieties to choose from, they offer a better deal than Walmart actually.... Now, the people who work there are also super nice and helpful. I was looking for a particular dried fruit and I asked one of the employees who was stocking something in the shelf. This person stopped what they were doing and personally walked me over to what I was looking for. I appreciate this because even though the layout of the store is organized, there are other odd things that may be placed in a different aisle. I hope that Winco Store location are nationwide. read more

Huge ass sammiches !!!!!! in the Deli they have these huge poorboy and hoggie / club sandwiches I got the turkey sub this sammich would of easily Fed 3 people and it was under $4, hell all the sammiches I looked at were under 4 dollars, and they did not skimp on the meat, to be honest I ended up throwing part of it away since I don't have a fridge in my semi yet and they have bugle chips for .98 a bag right now throw in a soda or a bottle of water and you have a killer lunch for under $7 and it will feed 3 People !!!! other people are right this place is like Costco except you won't spend $400 or have to find room for your groceries when you get home but you do get your $$'s worth read more

Winco has been a part of my life for nearly ten years, and I dread the day I might move to a town that doesn't have one. The prices here absolutely cannot be beat, and the store is always clean and well-stocked (unless you go after 10:30pm or so, when restocking occurs--this is a trade-off. There's merchandise in your way, but no other shoppers. Pick your battle. :). They have great in-store bulk prices for grains, candy, soup mix, baking ingredients, cereal, and cheese. Winco is the best deal for groceries on the Palouse. They accept Debit cards (with PIN), checks, cash, and food stamps. They do NOT accept credit cards, so plan ahead. read more

Winco is a great place if your on a low pay grade. It is the cheapest store in the area by far, it even beats Wal-Mart. Their selection is huge and generally high quality. They have a bulk foods section which carry lots nuts, dried fruit, candies, dried goods, and more. One of my favorites in the bulk food section is crystallized ginger. They have decent fresh foods like mangoes and really good asparagus. Their meat is pretty good, but is depends on what you get. The deli is excellent. The bakery is mediocre, however their bagels are a real treat. They have a nice selection of wines. They have great cheese at a low price. To sum it up Winco is a great place to shop if you don't mind crowding or have a tight wallet. read more

The fresh produce is of such greater quality than any of the other grocery stores in the area. That was the reason why we started shopping here in the first place. There is also an amazing bulk section and we frequently pick up pizza dough mix, whole wheat pastry flour, pasta, flax seeds, brown rice, and pine nuts at much lower prices than anywhere else. Sometimes you can catch a good deal on meat and dairy, but those are usually about the same as at Safeway or Walmart in Pullman. All in all, worth the seven mile drive if you are getting anything fresh. Make sure to bring your reusable bags! read more

Note: you will have to bag your own groceries, they do not have baggers. It has a large bulk section. Many of the groceries are at a good price. However, this place is usually crowded during normal hours. Many screaming kids and that sort of thing. The produce is stocked, but you'll have to dig through boxes to find what you want. It's not displayed well. It's just displayed. The bakery is very unappealing - clearly low quality. It's fine enough for your regular items, but it's a get in and out as fast as you can experience. Huge selection, friendly staff, always friendly customers. The produce is delayed the same travel time as that from Safeway. An extra day or two. That's just how it is in the Inland Northwest and its literally half the price of Safeway, or more. Super accurate scanning. The overall prices are better than Walmart, Safeway or our independents in the area. Although Safeway is much closer to me, I regret every time I stop there instead of driving across town to Winco. Look, this is where your local restaurants shop, I see the owners here. It's just the best in town. My experience has been that is true whether you're in Moscow or Dallas. WinCo has always been a great place to shop. Their excellent prices make the trip from Pullman well worth it - not to mention certain product selections that we can only find locally there. My only beef with WinCo is that during this pandemic they don't offer delivery or even pickup service. This would offer better options for those of us most at risk and provide more employment for the people that most urgently need it. Only Rosauers and Walmart in Moscow offer this kind of service presently, and I applaud them. I urge WinCo to consider changing their policy. read more

This place is alright, it's like Safeway and Costco mixed together. Except more downgraded. A lot of college students go here to get food. Parking is easy to find, and is near all the little businesses around. Too bad I had to drive 15-20 min. on the baby highway just to go grocery shopping here! A great place as long as you stay away from anything that should be purchased fresh. I didn't realize it at the time but the last carton of milk I purchased from Winco expired the day after I purchased it and was already starting to turn sour, which is unusual since most things last up to a week after their expiration date. You can save quite a bit of money shopping here, just stick with boxed items, alcohol, and items with loooooong shelf lives. The wine selection is pretty decent too and the prices are significantly lower than at Safeway. It's kind of annoying that they don't take credit cards but they have to cut costs somewhere. read more

You want good selection for cheap? Winco fits the bill perfectly. I can't give it five stars because A) the beer selection is below average, and B) it's always so cold that my nipples get firm just thinking about it. I do love the quaint experience of packing your own groceries and only being able to use a debit card, but both could be a hassle if you didn't expect it. An added bonus is that some really interesting characters come out of the woods to shop here due to its cheapness, so people-watching is part of the fun. On a particularly busy day a cashier told me that the 1st and 15th of the month are always crazy. read more

Winco is definitely the place grocery store to shop on the Palouse. It used to be very difficult at certain times during the week to make a quick visit as the lines were huge but they fortunately installed a few self check out registers which makes a quick stop anytime very convenient read more

The produce section is good, they have an average variety of food products, but the best feature of Winco is by far the price! The only other place in town that comes close to the prices you can find at Winco is the Walmart Supercenter. However, low prices means very low customer service. I have been referred to as "Dude" one too many times by the cashiers for my liking. All in all, if you are looking for cheap food with an average selection this is your place. Also, try to stay away from this place during peak hours (1-6 P.M.) as about half of Moscow will be there buying mass amounts of food, and you will be stuck behind all of them. Best prices by a long shot. My wife did a comparison with Costco and found that for our staples (eggs, milk, cheese, baking ingredients, etc.), the prices were cheaper on average. The store isn't always sparkling clean, but it's not gross. I just get the impression that it's very high volume, so at the end of the day when I have to stop in, the floor might be a little more dirty because they can't constantly mop the place. We buy our coffee beans there. Very good stuff. Especially French Roast. The bulk section rocks. My only gripe is the narrowness of the aisles. Since the place is so busy this can make it difficult to move around, particularly if you've got one of the enormous kid carts. But hey, nothing's perfect. read more
