OK I don't rave about places often, but Winchester Pub and Grill (3362 Rebecca Lane) is on point! Yes, it's a pub / grill and the food is humble, a tiny bit pricey, but man is it worth it! We went in for lunch and had the smoked bacon wrapped peppers, two drinks, I had the shaved ribeye with onion rings (SOOOOO many onion rings!), my husband had the 12-piece wings (way bigger than Wingstop wings) with sweet potato waffle fries. The bill was around $55 for all of it. I have never had a "ribeye" sandwich before that was really ribeye, but this was! so tender and juicy and not chewy or grizzly at all! I could only eat half of it; it was so big! We both brought enough food home for dinner too! This thing was over 8 inches long. We are from Buffalo NY and my husband said the "buffalo wings" were spot on. The smoked bacon wrapped peppers? OMG sooooooo good! THICK slices of bacon, you could taste the smoke and even with the generous sized pepper the bacon covered the whole thing. I scarfed them down so fast I got the picture after I had already eaten a few lol. The only tiny issue I had was the onion rings and waffle fries were cooked just a tad browner than I like them but it was no real biggie. All in all, great food, prices were good for the value they give, and the owner is a wonderful lady who dotes on you the whole time you are there! GO!!! read more

Cannot say enough good things about this place! We came at a busy point during the weekend and only two servers but man they were doing a great job with customer service! Great pub setting with plenty of seating and family friendly! Now for the food! Top notch! We got the loaded fries for appetizer and the shaved ribeye sandwich and the patty melt! We showed up and they were busy and there was a big group already seated. Did I mention they were also short-staffed? Well, they did a GREAT job despite the crowd and the staffing shortage. They were able to get my wife and I our order very quickly while also taking care of others. This was our first visit, but it won't be our last. Highly recommend, even if they're busy. Also, they had some great live music from "Kinfolk", a relatively new duo. However, neither member is new to the music scene. read more

After a couple of visits since my last review, I'm really disappointed on the food. I still love the cheese balls, but everything else flavor-wise is just off in some way. The wings were cooked beautifully, but the 3 flavors available aren't it at all. The fries are nice and crispy, but really sweet somehow. The chili was also sweet, come to find out it has cinnamon in it. The steak sandwich was chewy and the flavor was not at all what I was expecting. Place recently opened and decided to give a try. As for food, we got the cheese balls and 12 piece buffalo wings. In my opinion the cheese balls didn't really have too much flavor. I was told they don't use breading and that might be where they are losing flavor. The buffalo wings were alright. The meat itself was good, however that was very much NOT a buffalo sauce. Doesn't look like it either. It was slightly spicy and was also pretty sweet. It would best be described as a mild bbq. I recommend a sauce similar to Frank's red hot WINGS buffalo sauce for a TRUE buffalo flavor. Other than that, service was standard. Seating arrangements are kinda funky. read more

Our family of 5 went for the first time today during lunch. The food was amazing and the waitress was fantastic! I can't remember her name but she has long blonde hair, very attentive and on top of it. I split the special of the day, hot ham and cheese sub with my youngest, 2 older kiddos shared the patty melt and husband had the shaved ribeye sandwich. Our waitress had each shared sandwich cut in half and put on separate plates without us even asking. The hot ham and cheese was delicious and I tried a bite of the shaved ribeye sandwich, so dang good! I'm guessing the patty melt was just as good as the other two sandwiches because the kids ate it fast. The fries and onion rings are so good too! Go check this place out! The food is your typical pub fair. It is a very high-quality, though. The service is excellent and very prompt, as well as friendly. Ambience is wonderful; especially for those of us who are Military and/ or of History Military families. This little spot is veteran owned and run. A lot of times the owner will be out on the floor socializing with everyone and genuinely asking if everything is satisfactory. Being the military enthusiast that I am, I like the military-themed decor. Staff is friendly and attentive. Most of the patrons are regulars, so they either know one another or the bartender. It's fun to sit at the bar because they will likely end up including you in their conversations with each other or the staff. read more

If you know me, you know I love pho. Like LOVE love. Well I finally found a good pho place in Abilene and it's in the last place you'd expect. A bar & grill called Winchester, owned by a former B1 crew chief. The food is amazing and the people that work here are awesome! Cannot recommend this place enough. They only have pho on Sundays, and I'm having a hard time writing this because I don't want them to run out next time I come to get some . We've also had their burger (to die for! Such great flavor), smoked (not breaded) jalapeño poppers, fries, lemon pepper and honey heat wings, and bacon Mac and cheese. Everything has been amazing! read more

Tried this place out this morning with the hubs. We started with jalapeño poppers, ended with a classic burger and sliced ribeye sandwich. Amazing!! Great flavor all around, cooked to perfection. My only "complaint", which is personal preference, would be for the tomatoes to be sliced a little thinner for the burger. They had a good looking brunch menu, and drinks served ice cold. Friendly staff, prompt service. Decor is military themed. Good selection of seating options, draft beers, welcoming bar space and table, all of it was very clean. We tried the loaded fries with bacon and cheese, shaved steak sandwhich and the burger. They were generous with bacon and cheese, fries were pretty good. Shaved steak has a sauce and also a very generous portion, but was extremely greasy. Corn cup was also yummy. Our food was out quickly. Bread with the shaved steak was buttery and delish. My husband reported that the burger was also good. We will try again. The service was great, just may need to try other menu items :) The burrito bowl looked really promising and I want to try it next. Tried this new place out over the weekend. The service was great and the staff was friendly. The food, however, was not very good. We tried the poppers and ribeye sandwich. I want to like this place. I really do, however, I cannot. As a veteran I love supporting other veteran owned businesses. That being said, I've tried almost everything on their limited menu and the only thing I can recommend is the cheese balls. Coincidentally they were out of the last time I went there. Last time we went there we ordered their burger because the bartender said their burgers are "the best in town." Ours came out still mooing. Literally they served us raw ground chuck! Wings are less disappointing in the sense that the meat was at least cooked well. However, the flavors are WAY off. Buffalo does not taste like a Buffalo wing, the lemon pepper is 90% salt and the sweet and spicy is too hot for me, and I've done wing challenges before. I don't mind spicy but the description does not fit the level of heat. The fries have a weird sweetness to them and it's not because they're sweet potato fries. Chili also has a weird flavor to it. One of their bartenders spent most of her shift away from the bar. The other bartender couldn't make a simple margarita. Pros: the owners are the kindest people you could ever meet. Very very genuine and kind, caring people. They're constantly cleaning. Ambiance is good. Good music and it's a place you can go and hang out and not have to shout across the table. Really good beers on tap along with your standard selection of domestic/import beers in bottles. Friendly and efficient service. Nice atmosphere to hang out and watch sports on one of the many TVs they have. My wife had the power bowl, it was excellent. I had the ribeye sandwich and we shared jalapeño poppers. The poppers weren't too spicy and were tasty with a mild smoke flavor. Had lunch yesterday and would not recommend the burgers. Our burgers were too salty to the point I didn't finish mine. The French fries were delicious and our server was on the spot. We did mention it to her and a manager did come over and thanked us for speaking up. Just not sure I would return. read more
