This review is for the Evers House which is a sister property of Winchester but check in is at Winchester. Check in was easy because it was all prepaid. A good touch for B&B s is a welcome gift (chocolate, etc.). There was no welcome gift. This 2 night stay was expensive if not steep. The bkfast basket delivery made up for a bit. It was homemade, convenient and good. Rooms at Evers have access to a common full kitchen. I stayed in the Sevent Heaven Suite. It was great, peaceful and everything is within walking distance. Only warning is do not book without cancellation insurance. Theyre strict about their cancellation policy. Read it before booking! They offer a dine inn setup for added fee which i paid for and got refunded because they dont offer it anymore--This was huge for me and reason I chose this place so I was not happy they called day prior to let me know.

My wife expects 5 star resorts and she said this place exceeded the typical 5 star experience. The bedding, linens, amenities were awesome. They had live music and great food and drink options at the head cabin. Every cabin felt private and unique and the babbling creek and ponds along the Creekside were so relaxing to sit by with lots of Adirondack chairs overlooking the creek and rocking chairs on the cabin porches. We also chose this place because they allowed my Australian Shepard to come (only some cabins). The whole experience was amazing and only a 5 minute drive to the main strip. Don't miss a tour of Signor Vineyards, a 10 minute drive West. The most beautiful vineyard and cool experience!

I understand that the cabins are old, and authentic but it would help a little. I would also recommend a little better dusting, around window sills, and windows/curtains, a fair amount of dust that came off, every time we closed the blinds or pulled the curtains. That is the only reason I rated it a 4 instead of 5.

We really only heard traffic during the day, it was pretty quiet at night, and day traffic didn't bother us. We stayed in Winterberry, and we sat on the cute porch in the evening with citronella (my boyfriend is a mosquito magnet, lol) and lightning bugs. The bed was a little more firm than we were expecting, but we still slept fine. I should also preface that we sleep with a box fan on low for white noise. We were there during the week so there wasn't really any noise from other guests, only a few people were there. I will make note that you can see straight down into Winterberry from the door of the second floor cabin next door. We forgot to tell Debbie, the manager, about that, but it can easily be fixed with a simple window covering. There was no one in that room while we were there so it wasn't a big deal. Debbie was truly delightful, very sweet. She brought the biscuit basket we ordered for our final morning. The biscuits were really very good, they come in the cutest setup, with the biscuits sitting on a bread warmer. Great experience overall. If we vacation in Fredericksburg again, we will definitely stay here.

The staff could not be more helpful and friendly. The only downside is it is located on a slightly busy road with bright lights that make it hard to darken the interior. For years, I've visited Fredericksburg and every time we passed this lodge, we fantasized about…read morewhat it would be like to stay there. It looked so inviting and cozy from the outside. Thankfully, we found out that it's not quite as expensive as it looks, and we could afford to stay there, so we did! The room was wonderful and very comfortable. I love the stone wall! Only qualm I had was in regard to the shower/tub. The jacuzzi tub itself was amazing, but they put a "rainshower" head above it for showers. First of all, it was a regular showerhead pointed straight down, not a rainshower like those positioned that way should be. A sign asks you to utilize the shower curtain properly so there is no water damage... which is impossible even when using the curtain. It's just a very odd setup. There will be water damage just of how the whole thing was designed. Worst about it all, was how high the tub itself is- if you are in any way disabled (be it permanently or temporarily injured) or elderly, you are going to despise this tub/shower. I'm a 34-year old fit and active person, and I struggled getting in and out of this thing. It's awkward to start with but then add water and oh sh!t, you're going down for sure! We used the stairs for the bed and put them in the bathroom for this reason but it didn't help much. Other than that, everything else was spectacular. The staff was friendly and helpful. We took advantage of the fireplace which was SO cozy! Perfect for the chilly nights we had. They supply firewood and firestarters so it's very easy to make your own. During one of the days, it was warm enough to enjoy the pool too. Breakfast gets delivered in an adorable picnic basket and it's loaded! We expected the norm of simple breakfast options like mini boxes of cereal and muffins. Nope! Hard-boiled eggs, fruit galore, prosciutto, cheese, danishes/pastries, oatmeal, and yogurt. It was different every day and delicious every day. Treat yourself and stay here! You'll be glad you did. If you fear the wacky tub/shower, don't choose room 10. That's where we were but all the rooms are unique and others may have a better layout in the bathroom.

The room was appointed in beautiful old world charm. It had a huge king size bed that sits high off the floor, an old hard wood cloths wardrobe and night stands on each side of the bed. It was also furnished with a couch that pulls out into a bed and also a coffee table. The bathroom was great , it has a huge jacuzzi soaking tub that easily accommodates 2 . I had to use the step stool provided for the bed to get into the tub. I am only 5'1 and the tub is so deep that it's hard to get into. Yes here is not much counter space in the bathroom to put toiletries but we made do. There is also a fridge , microwave and coffee maker in the room. The grounds are well kept and the pool area is so relaxing. In the outdoor lounge area there are comfy couches and a fire place. Breakfast baskets are provided every morning and were a great touch. It was an amazing weekend and we will definitely be back.

Even though this is an entirely unhosted B&B, there's enough personal touches to make you feel welcome. They do the little things like writing "Welcome (my wife's name)!" on the key card folder, or leaving a folder filled with things to do including a live music schedule for places in town in the room. 3. The coffee cake they leave in the room is delicious, and there's just enough stuff in the fridge to get you started in the morning. There's cereal in the cupboard and locally ground coffee. The bath products are local. Again, it feels like somebody cares here. 4. The hot tub was fantastic. 5. Even though several cabins worth of people decided to hang out in front of our cottage one night, as soon as we shut the door we couldn't hear a thing. My only quibble is the air conditioner is a little undersized for the room, so after a hot summer day it took a long time for the room to get comfortable enough to sleep. But once it does, we slept well.

Check in was clear, lots of extra coffee in the rooms and even champagne in the room for my wife's bday. The grounds are beautiful with rocking chairs on the porch for all cottages; hot tubs are clean, and hot. Nice central area with more chairs (perfect for eclipse viewing). Each cottage is unique but all have a frig, plates/bowls, silverware, OJ/milk/pastry every other day and many have their own hot tub. Location: just far enough from downtown crowds/noise but walking distance to everything. Beware, the two cottages by main street are noisy as big rigs drive though all night. King beds are very comfortable, many rooms with couch/living space, plenty of parking. The only thing we found difficult was what to do with all of our trash (pizza boxes, wine bottles, etc!). If we ever visit Fredericksburg again you know where we will be staying.

After the massage I relaxed with a mimosa in their beautiful outdoor jacuzzi. They also have a cold plunge. I didn't get up the courage to do that one yet. This was a mother/daughter girls trip. We made reservations to Hill Country Herb Garden restaurant…read morefor Sunday which happened to be Father's Day. We were seated immediately, the ambiance was nice, the gardens we walked thru outside were gorgeous. Our first waiter was aloof, he spilled water all over the table, cleaned it up...accidents happen no biggie but he seemed annoyed with us, when he was the one who spilled onto the table and into my friend's lap. Fortunately, most landed on the table. We had scheduled on line and the limit it showed was 8 on the first screen and then we were given a noted area where it asked how many people, we confirmed 9 people, we paid $180 for this reservation. It did charge for 8 (missed that in the email). When we arrived we asked the hostess ( young dark haired girl not friendly) she answered with an attitude and let us know we had booked for eight and NO they would not accommodate. Part of our group was seated. The rest of the group came in and saw that the two ladies on the end were so crowded at the narrow table it was going to make eating difficult. So I went to ask for a manager. The manager (Chris maybe, bearded guy). He was immediately, defensive and attitude-y. I asked him if it was possible for us to get another table moved over. "NO, the girl already told you. Not possible, we are booked ". Mind you I'm looking around and there are two tables in our room with people, us and another one AND Three empty tables. Each room had more empty tables than they did people. He tells me they are ALL booked. I'm like there is nothing. NOPE. I tell him there is no need to speak with that attitude and rudeness and then I go sit down because I'm not trying to ruin our trip. So a new waiter came, some ordered the lavender mimosas, peach Bellini, Bloody Mary, hot tea & champagne. The lavender mimosa got mixed reviews, very sweet. Bloody Mary and green tea were exceptionally good. We asked whether there was a sugar free coffee option, waiter didn't ever come back. We ordered chicken and waffles, salmon eggs Benedict, regular eggs Benedict and tuna ahi salad & a cinnamon roll. Chicken and waffles was cinnamon forwards but not really a Belgian waffle and the waffle was not hot, you got two chicken strips (the crust was flavorful but the chicken was a bit dry). Two of us paid extra for hot honey, it WASN'T hot or even flavorful! Both Eggs Benedict were cooked right but just warm. Tasted good but the classic breakfast fries could have been cooked longer. The tuna ahi salad was very good although the tuna was a small serving. Asked another waiter About the sugarfree coffee, he suggested and then came back with raspberry latte, tried it but it was weird...No one ever asked if it was okay, no one asked about the lavender mimosa even though we ordered another champagne and pushed it aside . The cinnamon roll was delicious but more of a bread pudding. Overall it was not a great experience. The customer service was lacking. I realize we showed up with an extra person( from the managers viewpoint) but they could have accommodated even if they said we'll try but if all the booked clientele show up then we will have to come get the table. Also after spilling the water on the table and some into a customers lap, the manager should have comped her champagne or something as an apology for the ruckus. Two tables in our section were empty the entire time we were there. There were multiple empty tables throughout the restaurant the entire time we were there. I can't recommend this place, very rude management and not at all accommodating, lacking customer service & the food was not up to par

Both served with sour cream, Serrano based red salsa, and fresh fruit from the local HEB. Nothing like strawberries and cantaloupe with a pinch of table salt. Again, old school meets modern. Steve and Glenda (the property owners) were AWESOME. So kind and welcoming from the minute we arrived. When we pulled up to our cabin and got out we were greeted by a friendly bunch of chickens, they actually ran up to greet us. :o) The cabin was picturesque... there was a screened in sitting area on the back porch with comfy rocking chairs and additional chairs and a beautiful covered front porch with rocking chairs and a chiminea. When we walked in the cabin looked just as it did in the pictures online. Beautifully decorated and very clean. A king sized bed in the main area with a small kitchen equipped with; microwave, small refrigerator (freezer had 2 ice trays and fridge had 4 waters), plates, wine glasses and opener, cups, coffee mugs, keurig (coffee, tea bags, creamer and sugar), dish washing soap, etc. The bathroom was the perfect size with a walk in shower (it was very clean). The loft upstairs was perfect, again very clean and super cute. It is a small space but perfect for climbing in for a good nights sleep. There was an oscillating fan in the loft which helped with the air circulation. Very cozy! Both beds were very comfortable. There was a flat screen smart TV in the main area, we were able to watch Netflix or regular television. The AC worked great. In the evening we sat on the front porch and had a fire in the chiminea. Steve and Glenda stopped us on our way in on our first night there and asked how we liked our eggs prepared, they also asked if we had any dietary restrictions. They told us that they would deliver our breakfast to our door the next morning between 8:30am-9am. The next morning they were right on time and did not disappoint. A beautiful display (see picture)... fresh eggs, bacon, breakfast potatoes, homemade biscuits, homemade apple butter (to die for), fresh squeezed orange juice. It was a WONDERFUL, down to each little detail. The next morning we had another great breakfast... fresh eggs, sausage links, french toast w/ strawberries and bananas, walnuts and more fresh squeezed orange juice. Glenda also made us a sweet treat (individual chocolate lava cakes) that Steve delivered to us on Saturday afternoon. YUM! We had a memorable weekend in Fredericksburg... a wonderful place to stay, a great wine tour (290 Wine Shuttle), good food and laughs. I will come back and stay at this beautiful place again.
