There are audible and visual displays of the next trains in both directions. The ticketing lobby has a number of kiosks for purchasing a ticket or adding value to your CharlieCard. There is a small Dunkin Donuts kiosk just outside the ticketing area. The station is between Assembly (inbound, towards Forest Hills) and Malden Center (outbound towards Oak Grove).

To clearly understand how awful the dependability is please allow me to give you a medium sized example of a specific trip (1 out of dozens): After, work I take the 90 bus up to the Gym - great! I preplan the bus ride back to my apartment about an hour later - okay! I catch the MBTA 100 and take it 4 stops to catch our friend Mr. 101 Bus. I am excited - I have made it across the Fellsway during high traffic in the pitch dark - an area that has multiple "Pedestrian Mortality Wreaths" that adorn the street lights - success! I am early and very eager to go home and eat and "take a leak" , but quietly I think optimistically " It's okay the 101 bus should be here in 5 minutes - I should be home in 15 minutes". Well let's see! Slowly, I waiiiiiiiiiiitttttt and waiiiiitttt and waiiiittt. Oh, 25 minutes has gone by, hmm? Whatever has happened to the 101 bus ? I have once again trusted the 101 bus and it has turned me highly sarcastic and my face is blue from cold. " I'll just catch the Next 101bus" I think. So, I waiiit and waiiiit. At this point I have figured if I would have walked - I would be already home. Oh , the bus arrives over 30 minutes late. My 1.5 miles that my lazy ass should have walked turned into an hour trip. That is literally 1.5 MPH !!!!! OMG! I feel bad for the bus drivers the most because you can tell they are hauling ass, but between the stops that are every 30 seconds and traffic - their efforts are futile. My opinion is I think Malden is a Bermuda triangle for busses where busses go in, but the never come out. Sorry 101 Bus ...2 Stars ...Compare that to 4 stars given to the 96 bus!!! You weren't there when I needed you most…read more We were gonna take you to sullivan station, but you decided that you didn't need to show up at your scheduled time on saturday afternoon. So what if you say you'll be there at 12.15 on a saturday, we all know you won't. You broke my heart.

This is the bus line in my town, it works. I wish it had better hours for nights and weekends but…read moreunfortunately that ain't happening I guess. In the mornings it runs alright an estimated 30 minute interval for inbound time for 'rush hour' and then hour during the day and a maybe 30-40 minute run time for outbound from Oak Grove. Same with into Stoneham.. I wish the times were better it's like I can either get to work wicked early or barely make it just in time. Same for times leaving Oak Grove.. you miss one you're waiting 45 minutes. The route could get condensed in some spots but other than that it's pretty direct and takes an alright average for me of 15 minutes. All and all, I like that Stoneham has the T bus in general. An above ground station on the northern arm of the Orange line, it is also a stop on the commuter…read morerail. An island platform for the Orange located between Wellington and Oak Grove (which is the terminus). The station is handicap access with an elevator from the street level where the ticketing concourse is located up to the platform. The usual automated ticket vending machines and turnstiles. As it is an elevated station, it is a little bit exposed to the elements. There is cover from the wind. At street level there is parking, bus transfers and a spot to kiss-n-go if that's your thing. There is not much immediately nearby.

Reasons Why I Love The 109…read more 1. I can go from my house to Sullivan in 20-30 minutes. 50000 hours if I had to walk. 2. It runs pretty good at the peak of the day. 3. I strengthen my anger management skills every time I take the bus and I manage not to beat the shit out of everyone on it because my claustrophobia is kicking in. 4. I can sleep on my way to the station in the morning if I have to leave early. 5. I weigh over 300 pounds and another fatass always likes to sit next tome so I can feel skinny. 6. I can avoid the 108 that leaves Malden Center and always has a crystal meth conference or a heroin symposium on it.

This bus runs basically the same route, but stays on Broadway through Malden and takes Eastern Ave to Linden Square in Malden/Revere. I need to go to Linden all the time, so this bus is definitely useful for that. Plus, they added 2 per hour after 8pm on weekdays that end at Glendale Square. Yeah, I'd rather have it go to Linden Square, but still useful nonetheless, as sometimes I need to get to Everett Square. It's only ever REALLY late on Sundays, which is the MBTA's fault more than the actual route. I think it stays on time enough considering how many people take it.

Right near if not attached to the TD Garden and only a handful of eateries. Makes me wonder if there is even a bathroom on the premises. This causes traffic build up and people can easily miss their train. Also half the time they don't even work, which then you have to jump in another line. I had a question and an employee did get an answer but she took so long my train was there and I almost just left her because she was slowly walking back to me like she had no care in the world. This place is chaotic as well. Between the Bruins games people, people partying and we got the cross fire of Salem people and Halloween weekend people - wasn't fun and finding our Lyft was a mess. I really didn't like this at all, and the train windows were so dirty you couldn't even see out of them. I guess it doesn't help it's directly under TD Garden so it makes sense for the madness but I'll pass.

Surprisingly, the station has no services such as a coffee shop and there isn't very much nearby at all either. It has a single entrance and exit, which is also unusual. The station is in surprisingly good condition and repair. The station is an island platform and it is fully handicapped accessible. There are automated machines in the ticketing lobby for purchasing Charlie Tickets and adding value to Charlie Cards. There is an audible announcement of the next train to depart to Forest Hills and this is helpful in case you're close enough to run for it. There is also a visual board when you're on the platform. As mentioned, this is the terminus for the Orange Line. The next inbound station is Malden Center.

All business folk too. Dare I say it was always on time? Although the drivers sort of remind me of Lloyd the delivery guy from Scrubs. Moving…read moreto a new apartment off of Comm Ave in September, I thought, hey, I'll save a little money by taking the B line to work every day. Probably one of the stupidest things I've ever done. This bus gets me from its first stop to Federal Street in under a half an hour, without the hassle of stopping at too many red lights, dealing with BU kids who have a state of the art fitness center yet can't be bothered to walk 100 extra feet to get to class, and people who smell like they haven't showered since the Reagan 80's. I have an extra half an hour in the morning to relax, an extra half an hour at night, and all for $30 a month extra. Well worth it. If you live within a mile of one of these express buses and you have to go downtown in the morning - this is the only way to travel. Pay the extra $30 - it will immediately improve the quality of your commute, and the quality of your life, and I stand by that statement.

The bus was already running 15 minutes late because of the lunch hour traffic per my Apple Maps app. The bus was an additional 5 minutes late on top of that. The bus driver of this Wednesday mid-day route was lovely. He had a kind smile and quip for everyone who got on and encouraged passengers to help elderly folks who needed some assistance getting down from the bus. The stops were in great spaces, close to needed amenities. For example, I got on just a short pace away from the T station. That said, the signage needs updating because while they are in clear locations, the writing has become faded on the route signs.

The driver is really friendly in that surly, "I-was-born-in-Chelsea-so-don't-expect-me-to-give-a-shit-because-it's-7am-and-I've-already-been-drinking," sort of way. Despite having to navigate the Union Square traffic melee both directions on its route, it somehow always arrives on time, except on weekdays, when it doesn't bother to show up at all. This tends to happen modt often on Fridays (like this one), and is completely unannounced, so I'll assume it's because the MBTA literally has only one driver available for this route and doesn't bother to find a replacement for our Chelsea boy who just spent a long weekend hugging porcelain in the bathroom of the Tavern at the End of the World. I've also had the pleasure of taking this bus in the middle of the day, when I am literally the only rider for the entire route. It was really creepy and the bus smelled like bad gin and I wouldn't recommend it. If the MBTA were to do something actually useful, like hire a systems analyst, then they might figure out that running routes like this north of the river in the middle of the day when everyone is at work downtown is a huge waste of money. The savings could then be used to not only pay that systems analyst's crappy government salary, but also would allow the 85 to run later at night when people actually need it, and on weekends, again, when people actually need it.

It's a commuter bus line that runs until around 7:30pm only Monday through Friday. I hate this bus because it seems to run on a random schedule that changes daily. This is mostly because there's one bus that runs in a loop and it gets stuck in traffic going through Union Square. Also, because there's only one bus, it only runs about every 40 minutes in the morning - so your choices are 8:10 or 8:40 (give or take a few minutes). Also, the current bus driver is seriously the most surly individual on the planet. A few weeks ago the buzzer was broken and he just skipped a lot of the stops near/around Union Square. A woman was standing near the front told him so and he said "Do I LOOK like a mind reader?" and when she explained that standing near the front should signal that she wanted to get off he said "Oh yea? And how'd that work out for you?". So, if you don't mind the nasty driver and random arrival times - the 85 bus is a pretty convenient route to get you from Somerville to Cambridge.
