Solid coffee spot with hours from early morning to early evening. Parking available in street, but limited when other businesses are open. This is a small chain specializing in coffee and chocolate. The chocolate looks impressive - but so far, I have only indulged in the coffee. Their coffee is fresh and expertly prepared. So far, (4 visits in) the staff has been knowledgeable and friendly. Tip for them: not all (slightly) overweight people want sweet coffee. I do not expect a cappuccino to taste sweet. I expect the punch of espresso and the tickle of milk. I do appreciate the barrista confirming the flavor profile and suggesting a latte if a sweet coffee was desired (he happily and expertly made our dual quad-cappucinos after we re-affirmed we wanted a proper cappucino) Tip for you: join the reward program. It is stored with your cell phone and your receipt is emailed to you. read more

The missus and I were visiting from Los Angeles and were looking for a quiet but urban, chic place to grab coffee and treats, and Winans nailed it! It's local, located in downtown Springfield, just a skip from the gorgeous grounds at City Hall. We sampled just about everything, and would gladly go back for more! Our favorites were the Double Dark Meltaways and the Milk Chocolate Pecan Wurtles. A great place to nosh, work, gab, or treat yourself. Plus free wifi! The barista we had, Chris, was super knowledgable about the company, the products, the coffee, and was incredibly attentive. This store is good enough to be in any major metropolitan area, worldwide, and so going in felt like a special experience. Don't miss it! read more

Great little find in Springfield. The coffee and pastries are very good but the seating layout is very odd. It's kind of cramped and could have been designed much better. They spent a lot of thought on the lighting, colors and decor. The atmosphere is conducive to reading or studying. There may be an option to sit upstairs but evidently there was a meeting going on during a Saturday afternoon. Overall I think it's a very nice place. I will definitely be back. read more

This used to be my go to when I lived in Springfield. Their iced matcha green latte is everything. I miss this place so much!

Yay Springfield! You just keep getting better. This little coffee shop is a great addition to the downtown area. Coffee selection rivals larger city shops and don't get me started on the chocolates. Holy caloric paradise! Only negative is the less than comfortable metal bar stools for seating. Comfy, cozy chairs should be a mandatory luxury at any coffee shop. Overall appearance is chic and cool with an upscale feel. I'll be back the next time I'm visiting home. Again, yay Springfield! read more

Great new coffee place in town. Finally! Staff: friendly, hard-working, and seem knowledgable. The drinks are fantastic! Today, for example, I came in to do some work and got a drink and planned nursing it for the couple of hours I'd be here. Nope! My Milky Way was absolutely one of the best I've ever had. I drained it in less than 30 minutes, along with the fresh baked blueberry muffin which left me picking at the crumbs for one more taste. Be patient, though. They usually have two people behind the counter and it does take a little longer than some places to get the drink, but it's worth the wait. The shop: classic, old-style industrial era. Well done. The atmosphere is great. Good lighting, great music (a mix today including Lumineers, The Head and the Heart, Mumford and Sons, Kings of Leon, Kaleo) and not too loud. Restroom is clean. However, the seating is less than comfortable. Hard wood chairs at the two-tops and metal, backless stools at the 6-seat high tops. Limited seating until the loft area is finished with remodeling. It could use another garbage can or two around the space as well. Candy and baked goods: excellent! Overall, a welcome addition to our town. We've been limited in our coffee shops and Winan's adds an option for quality drinks in a classy setting. Note to owners: We see you every visit. Maybe be a little more personable? Good coffee gets you only so far. A simple acknowledgement and smile will go a long way with your customers. If I feel I am really welcome in your establishment, I will return and often.. and bring friends. read more

I LOVE Winans. The sweets, the drinks and the atmosphere are amazing. My only complaint is with some of the people that don't pay attention to the upstairs study room. The last 3 times I've been here to study there have been 2 people who must have decided that it's a private room just for them because they are either holding a private business meeting or having a conversation the entire time they are in the quiet, study room. It's a little irritating when others in the room (including me) are there to study. read more
