He takes the time to explain what he's seeing in real time, provides clear on-site feedback, and makes sure you understand both the big picture and the small details. He will not waste your time or your money -- he's honest, direct, and highly skilled at what he does. Rob has been the third home inspector I've worked with, and he is by far the most qualified, experienced, and proficient in his craft. He's also consistently on time and incredibly easy to work with. One of the most qualified in the Metro Detroit Area! Rob was extremely detailed and meticulous, had specialized equipment to gather and document his findings, and still made time to answer my questions (though we respected his time as well to keep on schedule). After the inspection, Rob used a handy software-based tool with all his documented findings, images, and descriptions. It was very easy to export a PDF report or filter + make notes. Rob also made time to review the report with us and helped us prioritize the most impactful repairs upfront to get our house up to our standards! So worth the cost, and now we've got a prioritized checklist of things to look at. Thank you, Rob!

He did a great job explaining what was important without making minor issues seem bigger than they were. He didn't try to find reasons for us not to move forward with the home: he gave us a fair-minded assessment based on his findings. The quality of the inspection was excellent. We added the sewer scope and radon testing, and I'm very glad we did. The inspection and resulting report were comprehensive and gave us a much better understanding of the home we're purchasing. I also thought the value was excellent. Given how significant a home purchase is, the cost was very reasonable for the level of detail, expertise, and peace of mind we received. I would highly recommend Total House Inspection, and especially John, to anyone buying a home. Great service, excellent quality, and well worth the investment.

Almost a year ago, just prior to leaving for Sedona, AZ, we noticed a stain on a ceiling near our…read moreback door. Having lived in a home w/mold, we knew to call for inspection before letting the plumber open the wall to find the source of the leak. Having done business with Healthy Homes before, with an extremely successful outcome, we called immediately. Healthy Homes was out quickly to investigate the problem. Since the leak originated on the upper floor, investigation had to be performed on the downstairs ceiling, up through the second floor, and finally behind the bathroom drywall. Most importantly, was the fact that George and Meg were aware of the fact that I'm immunodeficient and were very particular every step of the way since I've been exposed to mold in the past. Every step of the way we received photos, the insurance company was happy to be working with a leader in the industry, and although it took some time to find the leak, remediate the existing property, and then work and direct the contractors, we were kept up to date every step of the way. HH performed all of this while we were in AZ hiking for a holiday. We cannot stress the importance of a qualified and certified mold inspection organization with business longevity, extremely knowledgeable employees, and owners who are willing to roll up their sleeves and pitch in. What an outstanding job and the attention to detail with preserving our antiques and specialty paint finishes. Everything detail was important!!! Not to mention the willingness to work with the insurance company, who was at times, was difficult. So appreciate Healthy Homes and would give HH the highest performance rating!!!

Imagine for a moment, Mr Hanson, that everything stated in all my reviews is true... (because it…read moreis!) During our two year stint in Michigan, we experienced more dishonesty in connection with the Real Estate and Construction/home repair industries than anywhere (UT, CA, AZ) ever before (this was the fourth home purchase in 18 years!) in our lives! The home inspector is hired to protect the buyer. Protect the buyer from: 1. The seller. 2. The Realtors. 3. The brokerage house the Realtors work under. 4. The builder 5. Sometimes from the neighbors. And probably countless other people. The home inspector is the buyers first line of defense. The home inspector is supposed to be in your ring. Unfortunately, for us, (and this is not uncommon) industry professionals build "connections" with each other that do not always end up protecting their own clients. I did notify you of a problem, Ron. I called you on the phone right after we found it. You told me you couldn't help. You said the sellers hid it. You didn't want to work with me further. You told me that the scope of the inspection didn't include the roof. When I looked through my report, the mold stain in question was not photographed. I did reach out. I didn't hear back from you again, except for the "monthly email newsletter" that I eventually asked you to stop sending because it was nothing more than a painful reminder of all the people who lied to us! I looked through my email archives today to make sure that was the case. The only other email I got from you was a "did you mean to send this?" When I accidentally sent the sales receipt from you to you instead of to the attorney. Why did I wait two years to make a review? Because I thought maybe I could be wrong and time would sort things out. I tried to give you the benefit of the doubt. I know you're just trying to make a living... all of us are! But as soon as ethics and honesty and the client are above making a living, making a buck, or making connections with others who are just out to make a buck, the positive reviews will follow. You are in a position to protect others and when you do so, with complete 100% honesty, your clients will love you. I have four kids. They ate crayons, melted them in my car, stuffed them into vents, colored my walls, chopped them up and ground them into dust, smeared them into my grout... and none of that ever cost me over $15k! Crayons are non-toxic, not all people are the same. Be a crayon.
