These people that own this motel are VERY RUDE, and definitely NOT COMPASSIONATE for my party that was attending my fiancé memorial. We were flying from New Orleans to Portland, and by no fault of ours, our flights were canceled because of the Global IT situation. This motel ended up charging us anyway and we NEVER left our home state of Louisiana. When brought to their attention that our flights were canceled, the owner said, "we have bills to pay." Well, when I do fly to Portland, this is a DEFINITE PROMISE, I will NOT be staying at this motel. I will drive 50 miles out of our way to avoid these inconsiderate, rude and selfish people. The Better Business Bureau will be hearing from me. read more

We had a family memorial service at the cemetery nearby and 14 members of my family stayed here. It was the perfect location. I had the two bedroom suite with a kitchen because we had a family meal catered there by Cazalaio Restaurant in Wilton (excellent). The swim dock and boats were great, the lake water is great for swimming, the rooms were clean and comfortable, the coffee and ice machine in the lobby were convenient, and best of all, I loved the outdoor fire pit where we had a campfire at night. I was caught up in the THOUSANDS of cancelled flights during the July 19-21, 2024 fiasco. At 3:05 in the morning as I was driving to the airport in NOLA, I received a text message from Delta Airlines that my 5:00 am flight had been cancelled to Maine. I tried to call the hotel to cancel the reservation but they were closed. I went home and got a few hours sleep and when I awoke, I immediately called the hotel, expecting some compassion from them, being as this was a global issue and there was NOTHING I could do, but instead I was told that I would be charged a cancellation fee. I tried to explain to this woman that I was in LOUISIANA and I couldn't even drive to Maine and make it for the funeral and her answer to me was, I'm sorry but we have bills to pay. I will eventually bring my Aunt to Maine to see her late fiancé's family but I would sleep in my car on the side of the road before I would stay at a place that values money over human decency. This place is absolutely wonderful! A very quiet and quaint place on the water that has a relaxing atmosphere. I'm so glad I elected not to stay at a big name hotel, instead supporting Susan and Tom's little piece of paradise. They are very delightful people to talk to and have a lot to offer about local things to do. Mount Blue state park is very close and offers beautiful views. The Rangeley lakes area is also quite close, also offering great views/trails. I was going to be a passerby but ended up staying longer with many other things to do followed by returning to this lovely little Inn. Would recommend staying a few nights. This place is as charming as all get out! During a long-distance motorcycle trip we were faced with a storm in the direction we were going which we wanted to avoid. We had to make a snap decision and find a place nearby and fast. We took a look at Yelp and this place was the closet and out of the path of the storm we were trying to escape. We called to ask if they had two rooms open and we told to come right in, don't worry about giving a credit card, "we'll be expecting you..." How warm and friendly is that??? Sometimes things just work out perfectly! This place is set on private property and the owners live in a house situated next to the motel. The grounds are well kept and beautifully landscaped, the breakfast consists of local bakery good, cereal, yoghurt and such. The rooms are clean and adorable. Behind the motel there is a huge yard with horse shoes, picnic tables, lounge chairs and such. Also, a crystal clear, stone-bottomed lake with a fishing dock, canoes and kayaks. Also, the light pollution is so low that the stars were glittering across the sky brilliantly. The next morning we decided to take a break from pounding pavement on the motos and took the opportunity to do a little rowing on the water. It was nice to give our bodies a little exercise after being on the bikes for so long. We already have plans to make it back here. Going to make this our home base and go out exploring Maine on the motorcycle. read more

My husband and I were traveling from Maryland to Maine. We stayed at the Wilson Lake Inn in Wilton, Maine. The rooms were clean, the beds were very comfortable, the surrounding residential neighborhood was quiet, the gardens on the property were well-maintained and beautiful, and the lake was simply breathtaking! We stayed two nights. We enjoyed a beautiful evening sitting by the lake unwinding from our long drive by the fire pit the evening we arrived, then we checked out oars from the front desk and used the Inn's kayaks to enjoy a peaceful Mountain View paddle on the lake early the next morning. No food service at the hotel, but the owners suggested several places to eat -- we took a short drive to the next town over and enjoyed a great lunch at Salt and Pepper and had a fantastic dinner and cocktails at the nearby Italian restaurant called Calzolaio Pasta Co (we even got a discount by mentioning that the Wilson Lake Inn recommended them). Our stay at the Wilson Lake Inn was perfect. The back garden area would make a fantastic wedding venue, too. read more

This hotel is just a hidden gem. We were traveling without any prior reservation. After finding the place we decided to stay the night. We were lucky that we found a very nice room. It was the best place, among the hotels that we stayed during our trip. The price is not that high comparing the prices of other hotels.,The rooms are big facing the beautiful garden, the atmosphere is enormous with the beautiful garden, lake. You can also use the kayaka free of charge on the lake. We spent one night and everything was perfect, the rooms, friendly and kind staff, the breakfast ... //PROPERTY\\ The inn is essentially lodging on private property. The whole property is on a residential backstreet using the owner's private yard as lake access for the inn. There are 30 rooms total, 4 of which are larger "suites," really apartments with stocked kitchenettes. Not handicap accessible. All the standard rooms are on the main building while suites are together on a separate smaller building. Overall, it's motel vibes with retreat aspirations. //ROOMS\\ We booked a suite, and first impressions were that it was clean and cozy. They seem to use some kind of spray or something on the carpet to mask/neutralize odors, but it overwhelms rather than neutralizes. Permeated everywhere, might bother people with sensitive noses. Kitchen is very convenient with necessary wares and cooking utensils, microwave, fridge, though no real freezer. Kitchen has no hood vent, so you might want to open up the windows to not smell up the place. Every room was pretty clean save for the bedding quilts, which had various different hairs on them. Bathroom also had leftover hair from previous guests. No "Respect Privacy/Do Not Disturb" placard provided, if an uninterrupted stay or extra privacy is important to you. Otherwise, very quiet location and stay since most guests are pensioners. Occasional loon calls at night, which are eerie but interesting. //STAFF\\ This place seems to be run by a husband and wife team. He can be a bit long-winded but that's due to his enthusiasm to help you discover the area. The wife seems friendly and hospitable on the surface, but she seems a bit particular and argumentative. Cleaning quality level was inconsistent day to day. Every time they cleaned, they let flies in, and it wasn't even summer. We spent every night sharpening our swatting skills. There's also an envelope in the room asking for gratuity for the cleaning staff, but I didn't really see why. Other than changing the towels and the trash bags, I didn't notice much done. Since the bathroom floor wasn't swept (I knew because the twigs and pebbles we tracked in from the previous day were still there), toiletries weren't replaced other than the soap, not even the bag from the ice bucket we used the previous day was replaced. Or maybe it was because we didn't tip enough? But if housekeeping service is going to be included anyway, at least the basics should be done right first. //PERKS\\ Location with a view. The view is much nicer if you keep driving on Lake Rd toward Main St. They have a good amount of complimentary kayaks and canoes for you and friends/family to take out on the water and a dock for swimming. So you can go out together. Simple continental breakfast provided (starch, yogurt, fruit, no protein). The breakfast area is tiny (only one table, two chairs), so if you have a toaster in your room, I recommend just taking what you want and toasting back in room to avoid queuing. read more

Very nice place, on a beautiful lake. The large rooms are nicely furnished and the grounds are impeccable. Decent continental style breakfast as well. I was there in the Fall so the water toys had been put away. My biggest negative was the price. Certainly it wasn't overly expensive, but it was the most expensive place I stayed during my 8 day trip to Maine in Fall 2014. It was also the nicest. Note: There's a very good Italian restaurant about a mile away, right on the lake as well, called Calzolaio Pasta Company. Mention you are staying at the Inn and they will give you a discount (10% - I think). I recommend both the Inn and the restaurant. read more

Stayed here in June as we passed through the area on the Trek Across Maine. What a wonderful place! The rooms are VERY clean and comfortable, and the location is pristine. The beautiful landscaping and lawns make me jealous. The property is situated right on Wilson Lake so swimming, kayaking and hanging out to watch the sunset are all right here. Above all, the innkeepers and their staff can't be beat! Helpful, friendly and accommodating, this family-owned motel staff will make you happy you bypassed the chain hotels! A bit off the beaten path but well, well worth it! I now understand why so many Trek Across Maine riders rave about this place and return year after year. read more

I stayed here for a week on my trip to Maine visiting extended family. I was very glad I did. The room I stayed in was inexpensive and cozy, the maid staff did a very good job keeping it clean. The continental breakfast was good, with great baked muffins/breakfast cakes from a local bakery. As the name implies, the Inn is right on the water and has a small dock on the lake. You can swim, kayak, canoe or take out the paddle boat on the lake. There are nice gardens out front and in back of the inn, with adirondack chairs and benches to sit and enjoy the scenery. Crystal is a very nice owner, and makes you feel welcome. Wilton is not too far away, and you can walk right into town. When I come back to Maine on vacation, I will definitely stay there again. read more

Continues to be excellent. Rooms are clean and nicely laid out. All rooms have a nice view of the lawn and a bit of the lake at the end of the lawn. The grounds are beautifully landscaped. Staff are highly professional. There is a guest laundry room. Rates are very reasonable. Wifi connection was good. Cellphone reception was good. We had a room with a flat-screen TV. There was no microwave in the room, but one is in the lobby for all to use. Limited but very good cold breakfast items. read more

Well kept inn nestled by the lake. This is my third time staying here and I continue to enjoy my entire stay. The rooms are spacious and clean, the breakfast is adequate for something quick and on the go. The lawn and docks are great area for the kids to play. The inn provides life jackets and you can check out paddle boats to use. If you need to leave the inn for activities, the front staff are very helpful in directing you to the right places. The inn keeper even called around to different restaurant on a holiday to get us reservations. read more

Booked this place back in March as part of our summer trip. It reminded us of a local Inn close to where we live in Florida. We were not disappointed upon arrival. Had a very late check in as we had driven up from D.C. The desk worker knew who we were and had our key ready for our room. It was very clean and spacious. The next morning, we were able to take in the beautiful views of the property. Gorgeous flowers/landscaping all along the property and fabulous views from the lake overlooking the mountains. Traveled to Mt. Blue that day to take in all the beauty. Once back at the Inn, the owners were at the desk. We spent a good hour talking with them. We compared Florida to Maine and the differences in all you can see. They gave us great advice for more excursions around the area. Spent time at Rangely....another breathtaking place to visit while there. I highly recommend Wilson Lake Inn! The staff was awesome. Our room was cleaned each day, even placing our daughters' stuffed animals cutely on the bed. It was a lonnnng way from home for us, but it felt as though we were visiting family. It's away from the more popular tourist spots, which we enjoy! Look it up and take a trip! You'll be glad you did! read more

My wife and I are on a 2 weeks driving tour from NY to Boston to Burlington, VT, to the White Mountain and now on our way to Acadia. Awesome! Can take out kayaks on the lake, hot water for tea and breakfast, cute and so much fun! I absolutely loved the lake, we saw a bald eagle while kayaking and caught fish!!! So cool! I cant wait to go back! The price was great and the town is very cute, a local said that in the early morning you can see moose on the lake!!! We stayed at Wilson Lake Inn for one night and it was really great. Tom is very friendly and knowledgeable. The rooms are very simple and nothing glamorous, but it was one of the cleanest hotel rooms I've stayed in. It had a small fridge in it, which was very convenient. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. You feel like you're in a big back yard. And they have canoes and kayaks that you can borrow. We found the Wilson Lake Inn last minute and booked it after seeing the great reviews on Trip Advisor. Overall it was a good experience and we would stay there again. read more

I loved this place. It was like stepping back in time 15 years. I was looking for a simple room to spend the night at a reasonable rate. We got it. Our room was small, but meticulously clean. The beds were comfortable. There is coffee served in the main lobby after 6 AM, and a simple continental breakfast served around 7 AM. There is a dock at the lake out back, and patrons are allowed to borrow a paddleboat, canoe, or kayak. There are flowers meticulously planted around the yard, with chairs to sit in and even a picnic table. The experience was something like renting a cabin on a lake, except it was a motel. I do plan to visit again in the future. For the $89 per night rate, it was a far cry better than the big chain motel down the road. If I were to stay for longer than an overnight, I would choose a suite. read more

A hidden Gem! Myself, my wife and another couple were looking for a one night stay in the Farmington ME area. I did a quick yelp search and saw some good reviews on the Wilson Lake Inn. Well the reviews didn't steer me wrong. First the owners were very nice on the telephone, and even nicer in person. Second the price was right, $109.00 for their mid-range rooms. When we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised at the property. The landscaping is meticulously manicured with flowers everywhere. The room was spacious, modern and VERY clean (the bed and pillows were very comfortable). Sue, the owner, gave us a lot of information about the restaurants in the area and some things to do during our short stay. We were going to go down to the lake for a swim so Sue called one of her friends on the lake and the next thing we know ... they were at the dock in their pontoon boat wanting to give us a tour of the lake (free by the way! I asked how I could compensate them the next morning and Sue suggested a small donation in their name to a community water quality org,) . After having a nice lake tour at sunset, we went for our swim in the crystal clear lake. A quick shower and out to dinner. After dinner we just came back and crashed for the night. My biggest regret during this stay was that we couldn't stay longer! We will definitely be returning. Next time I hope to stay for a week. read more

I can't explain enough how much I love this place! We came up for a long weekend and I wish we could have stayed longer! Everyone there was so friendly. Our room was extremely clean (coming from someone who used to do housekeeping). We brought our 2 atvs and it had snowed some overnight. The staff snowblowed a path to our wheelers and all around our trailer for easy access. Very thoughtful. Nothing fancy, but very homey and definitely clean and comfortable. Will most definitely be going back...SOON! read more
