The owner is a standout--incredibly friendly, interesting to talk to, and he brings a personal touch that's rare to find these days. He remembers his regular customers and has fascinating stories from his time living in Asia. It's the kind of place where you feel like more than just another transaction. The store offers a large variety of liquors and beers, with something for just about every taste. There's also a fair selection of non-alcoholic beers--a thoughtful inclusion we really appreciate, though we'd love to see even more variety in that category as demand continues to grow. The wine selection isn't exotic, but it's clearly curated with the local customer in mind. You'll find quality bottles at fair prices--perfect for everyday sipping or easy gifting. Geneva Liquors is a great example of what a neighborhood liquor store should be: clean, welcoming, well-stocked, and run by someone who truly cares about the community. Please keep in mind at the late Geneva area does have weird laws when it comes to liquor so please read up on it before stopping here because I promise you that you're cashier is not trying to screw you over. It's easily the best selection of liquor for miles, including some pretty pricey stuff. On my last visit, I salivated over a few bottles of scotch with three-digit price tags. It would be wasted on me, though. Better to let someone with a more-refined sense of taste buy it. Anyway, in addition to a wide variety of wine, beer, and spirits, there's a decent grocery selection, too. It won't rival Sentry, but given a choice between a huge grocery store with a decent liquor section and a great liquor store with a decent grocery section, I'll choose the second one eight days a week.

I can only speak for the whiskey. The selection is huge with plenty of barrel picks from which to choose. I found the prices to be very fair, and there's no "secondary market" pricing that has been cropping up in retail locations in the last few years. Today there was a spirits event at their bar in the middle of the store. About a dozen vendors were pouring various spirits, mostly whiskey, and it was very professional with knowledgeable brand representatives/ambassadors. Also, if you're a whiskey geek like me, there's a sealed cabinet with all sorts of full old and pre-Prohibition bottles of whiskey to admire. If you're in the Antioch area, you'll definitely want to stop here and take a peek. Cheers!

They have all of the regular brands that you would expect, but they also have some rotating stock that comes through that is worth a look. Recently I have noticed a few offerings from Garrison Brothers as well as Widow Jane (no Black Opal yet, lol). A few of the guys that I work and ice fish with are big bourbon and whiskey snobs, so this is where I go to stock up when they are in town. The folks at the front counter are always nice and are a good source of recommendations if you are looking for something special.
