Willy's fabricated a pair of steel stair stringers for me. The stringers support wooden stair treads that appear to float in mid-air. To do this, every measurement has to be perfect. Brian was super nice and helpful and willing to go all the way up to Valley Springs to weld some new brackets on our teardrop trailer for an axle repair. He ended up welding on an additional support crossmember for the brackets, which was good and showed some thoughtfulness and ingenuity to make sure the brackets were stable & secure. Problem was, a few days later, when we went to put the axle on- the newly added cross member was in the way. When I contacted Brian (considering this a fabrication error) he said he'd come up and help us fix it (by removing the crossmember) Unfortunately, I never heard from him again and we ended up cutting out the crossmember ourselves. I support small businesses and him getting his new business of the ground--- but as much as I appreciated his initial hard work, not sure I'd use him for future projects due to lack of follow through. Super impressed with this place! I spoke with Brian on the phone, explained my situation. I needed welding done on my rear leaf spring mounts on my CJ5 Jeep. I had ruined two mounting bolts and wanted to reinforce the mount. I pull up (on a Sunday), back my CJ in and Brian takes a look, asseses the situation and starts working. I messaged Brian through text at Willy's Custom Metal on a Friday night after 9PM. He responded within 10 minutes. I had a custom exhaust job for my street bike that would need to be cut, welded and fabricated. He said no problem at all, bring it on over in the morning and he would take care of it. I brought it on over to the shop and he was nice enough to hang out with me while I was explaining what I thought would be the best way to do the job. I didn't need to explain much. The man knew exactly what needed to be done. It was also nice to know he had a background with bikes, and of course the whole experience was said and done with no problems at all. I found William on Craigslist. I brought him some stainless steel wake trim plates that needed some custom fabrication. He is well spoken and his shop was close so I gave him a try. He failed to write anything down when I explained what needed to be moved. He said he would be done in several days, warning, he's a tomorrow guy. I picked trim plates two weeks later and he failed! He couldn't even make symmetrical mistakes. I asked that he move one of two mounting brackets but he moved both the brackets in a way he felt would be best, ignoring my instructions. Then after moving the mounting brackets he position another piece of hardware in its place. The whole point of moving the mounting brackets was to not have anything there, lol. The wake trim plates were also warped, he told me after the fact, stainless is hard to work with and warps and I haven't done it before. The guy had the nerve to tell me I was rude and disrespectful and correct my grammar because I told him he needs to learn to write something down and know when he's in over his head. He said he "WAS" going to fix it overnight and then deliver it. Along with his grammatical correction was a lecture of how he's good at welding and that's why he's in business. He "WAS" going to fix overnight what he couldn't do in 2 weeks. I wouldn't let that hack touch my stuff ever again! read more

1 year review of the fence/gate these guys did. At first I had few issues with them about size and how I wanted to be done , he didn't listen to me and welded frame wrong, that's to begin with, then concrete posts were in ground 2 1/2 feet deep holding 10 foot panel of course it will not hold, had to dig it back up weld another foot of post and make with deeper with more concrete, and that's not the end , after they installed wood panels the fence /gate the whole thing was not leveled correctly with huge gaps before the wood dried, now it looks like crap, even they said and charged me for powder coating the frame rusts and paint peels off. And another thing I paid 200 more for red wood option, and it ended up reg wood planks not redwood. And the picture they posted of my fence if photoshopped and does not look like that . Will never do business with them, and make sure you don't pay them until the project is finished because it took him 3 weeks to come and finish welding the lock mechanism. read more
