They used to have it set up so you could go out into their big fields and pick out all different varieties of pumpkins and they were reasonably priced. Now, the pumpkins are lined up in a row in a lawn area and there is nothing in their fields I wondered out loud if they even grew them there and the lady said they did but then why not leave them on the vine or in the field for the experience? It was a Saturday and not busy at all so I'm guessing others are bummed by the change as well. Pumpkin prices are not marked. We paid 40.00 for 3 medium sized pumpkins and 4 tiny decorative pumpkins. Afterwards we went to Walmart for some groceries and saw similar sized pumpkins for 3.97 a piece for large and 1.00 for tiny ones. We like to support local but I think we will pass next year. Cute little set up for a photo but otherwise just meh.

There are a large selection of really nice pumpkins, a great corn maze, pizza, elephant ears, hot dogs, fire pit, goblin egg slingshot game, and a very well done haunted forest. They put a lot of thought, time, and effort into this event and they have a lot of actors who do a great job of scaring guests. The line is long, but worth it. They create space between groups so you get your own surprises. If you like haunted venues, this was fun. Probably best for kids over 9-10 although younger kids were there. You can go through during the day when it is only props and no actors. Definitely worth the trip.

I am not sure when they added the kids gift shack, the prices are great! They have day and nighttime Corn Maze, Halloween/Haunted Forest, Hayrides prices as well as a discount if you do all three. They have flashlights, T-shirts, Hoodies, Pumpkins, Corn Stalks, Gords, Cocoa, Candy, Gifts/Toys... for sale at good prices! They are 100's of pumpkins, a nice fire pit with chairs, clean port-a-potties and wash station, Goblin Egg Sling, and plenty of parking. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I come out here every year! We loved cutting sunflowers, and each picked out a pumpkin or three. Our rule is you have to be able to carry it to the scale/car yourself... LOL! However, we always find a quality Noble fir if even we have to hunt a bit. This year was REALLY unusual. The Monday after T Day we went with the idea we'd have to spend time searching. The most helpful young man pointed us to a new field of Nobles. And there, no more than 10 feet in from the path was IT (visions of Clark Griswold!). There were countless more even after that Turkey Day rush. The same man came by in his tractor and asked if he could cut it down for us. He had a chain saw. I had a hand saw. No brainer!! The service and selection are first class. Topping this off is the gift shop, where you pay, has all sorts of Christmas related things, including fresh wreaths (which we bought)

Picha Farms is…read moreabout 15 minutes away from us, so we headed out early Sunday morning to pick some strawberries. It was a bit confusing determining where we needed to go. We used Google Maps and it defaulted us to what appeared to be the prepicked strawberries and berries concession. I had to look back on the Instagram page to figure out where the actual plot of land was designated the U-Pick for the day. That was a bit frustrating because it was a video of a screenshot of where to go. No actual address to plug into the map, not even coordinates. The strawberries are $4.15/lb, which is fairly priced. The strawberries that we were picking in our designated row were very small; some were over ripped as well. We didn't stay too long, maybe 30 minutes or so. Our total was $9.50, so a little over two pounds.

Unfortunately, this patch has become overly popular, and thus, over crowded and over commercialized. This year's visit we found parking to be virtually impossible. Staff harried. Pumpkin selection disappointing. Food trucks almost completely generic. And, prices - for everything - borderline offensive. It should be noted that there are still some beautiful decorations and photo ops throughout the property. And, the homemade fudge was still a highlight. But, even those things were a bit tainted by the hordes of people and aforementioned prices. If we visit next year, we will definitely try to choose a time that is not as busy - so we can really enjoy what this patch once offered us - a fun, relaxed day of pumpkin hunting and classic treats. Pro-Tip: Avoid this patch on weekend afternoons in October, unless you (and your group) have an abundance of time and patience.

My girlfriend and I attended the Hot Sauce Festival at McMillin Farms over the summer…read more McMillin Farms has acres of free parking. During our visit, there was a few fresh produce products available for purchase such as nectarines, peaches, plums, zucchini, watermelon and corn. Packaged items such as honey and chips were also available. The Hot Sauce Festival was the main attraction of the day so there was a food truck on-site as well. Blistering hot pepper starts of several different varieties could also be purchased for those with green thumbs. Unfortunately, that isn't me. After sampling several fiery hot sauces and marinades it was refreshing to be able to order and consume an ice-cold craft beer from McMillin Farms brewery on-site. Red and white wine is available for those who do not care for beer. Beers were pricey at $8.75 each; however, keep in mind that you are supporting a small and local business. I look forward to attending future events at McMillin Farms.
