Pumpkins in wheelbarrow at Ashley Creek Farm, late Oct. 2022.

Simple country delight. We look forward to coming to Ashley Creek Farm every year. We've gotten our Halloween carving pumpkins from them the last five falls. It's a small family farm in the country, and it feels less commercialized, less circus-like than other fall-themed farms around Olympia. We enjoy taking it slow here, being in the countryside, and walking among the pumpkins. The farmkeepers let us take our time as we browse the pumpkins. They usually have a few hundred of 'em pre-picked and lined-up in rows in the front of their farm for guests to choose from with ease, with about a dozen varieties of them in all sizes. They also let us wander the pumpkin-growing fields farther back on the farm if weather's not too soggy. Plus, the cows are a joy to visit if they're out of their barn. The farm feels secluded, even though it's just off a main country road and is minutes away from Tumwater (in the prairie, on the way to Mima Mounds). The trees surrounding the farm are gorgeous as they start to change toward the end of October. The farm's website has been out-of-date the last few years, but I think it's now current as of fall 2022. Their website: https://ashleycreek.com/. Their farm has been open on the weeks before Halloween. Parking is free, but space can be limited on weekends and can be muddy if there's been much rain. The farm seems to have gotten more visitors each year, but we have not found it to be crowded. Though, you might encounter fewer visitors on weekdays. Entry is free, and pumpkin prices are a bargain. We enjoy coming here!

The largest pumpkin here is 50-lbs! This lot only cost us $35! Cash and credit accepted

I don't want to tell you about this farmstand because I love it so much and I want to keep it all to myself. However, Mark, the owner and farmer asked me to spread the word so I added this business to Yelp to write a review of how much I love Ashley Creek Farm. My family loves Ashley Creek Farm and we come here every Fall for VERY reasonably priced pumpkins. I also clipped dahlias for only $0.50-cents/stem! We got to visit the cows and they also sell hot cider. Not to mention how friendly everyone who works here is. This farm doesn't have a bounce house or tractor tours, but that's what we like about it. It's pumpkins and other squash, garlic, dahlias, cows, hot cider, and a friendly farmer. Look for the signs right around the intersection of 93rd and Littlerock Road (across from Chevron station located at 9200 Littlerock Road SW - GPS sends me the wrong way when I use the farm's address so I recommend using the Chevron stations address). Drive slow once you turn off the main road onto the dirt road, then keep driving all the way until you pass the pond on the right side. After the pond you'll see the barn, house, pumpkins, and pasture. Park in the grassy on the right side, grab a wheelbarrow, then buy more pumpkins than you think you'll need because the prices here are phenomenal! I also found out they do school tours: feeding pumpkins to the cows, tractor rides, beehive, beaver dam, pumpkins, cookies, cider! I'm going to request my son's school come here next year! CASH PREFERRED BUT CREDIT CARDS ACCEPTED

Ashley Creek Farm is fun for the whole family! They have a great selection of roots and pumpkins! Very quiet and peaceful! The cows are so fun to give pumpkin pieces to, very nice to the people feeding them. I highly suggest coming to visit! The staff is very helpful (they gave us details on how to plant the garlic we purchased) and they have very affordable prices with many different colors and types of pumpkins. The farm also has cookies and hot apple cider and hot chocolate for all of the visiting (only $1!!!) Please visit Ashley Creek Farm! It's a must-see for the fall season

Our annual Christmas tree hunt goes not farther than Schilter Family Farm…read more The Thanksgiving week end usually slams this tree farm. However, we always find a quality Noble fir if even we have to hunt a bit. This year was REALLY unusual. The Monday after T Day we went with the idea we'd have to spend time searching. The most helpful young man pointed us to a new field of Nobles. And there, no more than 10 feet in from the path was IT (visions of Clark Griswold!). There were countless more even after that Turkey Day rush. The same man came by in his tractor and asked if he could cut it down for us. He had a chain saw. I had a hand saw. No brainer!! The service and selection are first class. Topping this off is the gift shop, where you pay, has all sorts of Christmas related things, including fresh wreaths (which we bought)

The Pumpkin Patch is our annual go-to place for all things Fall!…read more We have been going here for about four years and the experience has been wonderful each year, and gets a wee bit better each time. When we first started going, the Patch was very simple ... they had a large pumpkin patch and little stand with other smaller pumpkins, gourds, straw bales, corn stalks, and the like. They also had fun wooden cutouts of famous kid movie characters to stick your head through and get pictures, along with a number of old-timey tractors for the kids to climb up onto. Each year they have added more, and this year it was full of kid-friendly activities. There is a small little playground with a slide and see-saw, a large tractor pulled hay rack ride, a faster four-wheeler pulled ride where you can sit in barrels like a train, a small corn maze, a straw pit for the kids to jump into, and a pumpkin cannon (the littles might need headphones for the loud boom). They have also added a little cafe stand with beverages and treats. Dollar for dollar, this is a great value for your money. Let's face it, everything is getting expensive nowadays, but your money is gonna go much farther here at Goodrich Rd. Pumpkin Patch than at other places. Plus, it's not overwhelmingly crowded and crazy-filled with near amusement park type attractions like some other more expensive patches. The owners and staff that work there are extremely friendly and 100% family-friendly. They know folks come here for fun and to be out with the family - they treat everyone like that and are helpful, kind, and caring. I highly recommend the Pumpkin Patch and as long as we're living in these parts, we will Always go there every October for our Fall needs!

It's an unpretentious, welcoming place designed for people to enjoy spending time. The family the operates it is kind and gracious. Just can't say enough great things about this place.

Unfortunately, this patch has become overly popular, and thus, over crowded and over commercialized. This year's visit we found parking to be virtually impossible. Staff harried. Pumpkin selection disappointing. Food trucks almost completely generic. And, prices - for everything - borderline offensive. It should be noted that there are still some beautiful decorations and photo ops throughout the property. And, the homemade fudge was still a highlight. But, even those things were a bit tainted by the hordes of people and aforementioned prices. If we visit next year, we will definitely try to choose a time that is not as busy - so we can really enjoy what this patch once offered us - a fun, relaxed day of pumpkin hunting and classic treats. Pro-Tip: Avoid this patch on weekend afternoons in October, unless you (and your group) have an abundance of time and patience.

Just follow the directions to the Puyallup stand and the U-pick field is right across the street. There's an outhouse behind the stand if you need a restroom. Otherwise, head straight to the U-pick area, where there's plenty of parking. The check-in is at a small white tent, where they provide cardboard boxes for picking. I went on a Saturday morning. They opened at 9 AM and charged $4.10 per pound. What I really like about this farm is how organized it is. Staff will direct you to a specific row of plants, and you'll use a flag to mark where you stopped picking. It was easy to find plenty of ripe strawberries and we filled two boxes quickly. It's hard to judge the weight by sight, but each box was probably about 7.5 pounds, since the total came to around $60. Two key tips: 1. Check their Facebook page for up-to-date hours and availability, since they change with the weather. 2. Bring cash or a personal check because they don't accept credit cards.
