Updating my reviews: Stopped going to the Marlton location on Route 73 because their bikes on the…read moreupstairs cardio floor are a DISGRACE! Broken TV connections and missing bottle holders (who steals plastic inserts?). Gym floor cramped and almost NO social distancing. Anyway, I'm a fan of the Staff at the LA Fitness in Mount Laurel (Route 38) as they try very hard to keep the place clean and in working order. Weekends are an issue, but it's because they need more cleaning staff -- lots of places are short-staffed so it's the world we live in nowadays -- but the guys do hustle on weekends to try to keep up with stocking locker rooms with paper towels and serve the members and guests at the same time.

DO NOT ACCEPT THE "FREE PERSONAL TRAINING SESSION" HERE ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A CUTE YOUNG WOMAN…read more Predatory and Unprofessional: Serious Safety Concerns at Mount Laurel Location My experience during a "complimentary personal training session" three days ago was disturbing and made the environment feel predatory and unsafe. I was paired with an older male "trainer" whose comments, behavior, and high-pressure sales tactics were deeply unprofessional and disrespectful. What I experienced was not actual personal training. Instead, the session included manipulative and sexually harassing comments, including contradictory statements about my body and him dramatically claiming he needed to "save my life" Harmful Management Inaction What made this situation so egregious was the direct involvement and subsequent inaction of the manager, Ben. He was sitting nearby the entire time, witnessed the trainer's manipulative and harassing comments, and still chose to sit idly by. This was an incredibly unethical failure of management that actively reinforced the predatory environment. Internal Staff Concerns and Prior History The manipulative behavior was so blatant that when the trainer attempted to involve another male employee, the employee refused, even stating, "This guy does whatever he wants around here and gets away with it." I later learned from staff at a nearby LA Fitness location that multiple members at this Mount Laurel location had previously reported similar concerns. Despite these prior reports, I was still paired with him, which raises serious questions about member safety and oversight at this facility. Positive Exception I do want to note that Jared was very kind, respectful, and professional when I joined the first day, and I truly appreciated his customer service. This gym would be a safer and more welcoming place if more staff demonstrated the same professionalism and care that he does.

As someone who's gone to this gym from time to time, there are a few pros & cons that I will list…read moreout in detail to help you better understand as to whether or not this gym is for you! Pros: The gym has a LARGE amount of amenities. There are two basketball courts (which are also used for pickleball), an indoor lap pool with hot tubs, an outdoor swimming area with slides (at an extra charge). There are classes, a ton of different machines for both cardio and lifting, and a really clean and upscale atmosphere. People tend to mind their own business and the staff have on average been helpful, at least in my experience. There is also a kids "daycare" if that's what you call it. A lot of parents will use this so they can have time to work out and actually work. There's a little area right next to the cafe that has tables and outlets. I see a lot of people with MacBooks doing work. They probably work remotely. Who knows. Cons: The price point for this gym is definitely the highest of them all coming in at $220.00 a month per person. IF you are married or you can prove cohabitation, you can add an additional person on your account for around $100 a month. This gym definitely has a crowd that is very gymcentric. This isn't a bad thing. But some people who are looking for a more chill or less intimidating atmosphere may think twice. I was one of these people until I decided to just not care. But that's easier said than done. The gym can be exceptionally crowded at peak hours. So if you plan on going daily I'd do my very best to avoid late afternoons on weekdays and nights on weekends. I was hoping the bathroom situation would be a little better but, there seems to be 2 bathrooms for ladies and men of course (from what I've seen). And with the amount of people there sometimes, it can be a little bit hectic. The locker room is fine and the showers are just average. At the price point of $220.00 I was expecting some futuristic pod shower than also does your taxes but, we all can't have what we want. The outside swimming area is an additional monthly charge, by the way. Conclusion: So take it or leave it. The price point is HIGH, but there are a lot more amenities and options for machines than any other gym out there. Is that justified? I don't really know. So three stars. Until they have a robot that does my taxes, then it might go to 4.

Honestly, it seemed insanely crowded with the usual suspect machine hogs and the perma-tanned preening that you can enjoy for free on South Beach. Pro-tip... you can probably outfit a fairly decent home gym for six months of dues. But what do I know. Three stars for the grins.

As years went by, the customer service declined even at the old ownership while prices rose, and it closed during Covid in 2020 for good. About 2 years ago, in 2023, it reopened under the new name. I tried it out to see if it was better or improved, but it's not. In fact, it's worse. Now, they charge around $115-$120/month, close an hour early at only 9pm on weekdays, the customer service is so bad it would be laughable if it wasn't so unprofessional at that rate of $115/month. When I joined two years ago, front desk girl wouldn't stop flirting with me when I walked in. I had to complain about it after a month. Tried again recently to see if it improved, but no, it's even worse than two years ago, which was worse than ten years ago. There's no way I'd pay over $75/month for this place, if that, but I'd pay 150-200/month for NAC, Lifetime in Princeton, or other luxury gyms. This is an LA Fitness parading around as luxury. The location and old architecture might convince you at first, but once you've been there a few times, you'll see.

Be sure to be aware of peak times, like lunch and right after 5pm on weekdays. All in all it's a good place to go. However, this location did charge me double for one month plus my annual fee. It was about $125 plus another $125 charge. When I spoke with the manager, he seemed to listen and try to fix the issue. After a week of waiting for my refund, I called again and a different person took the call this time. They said they have no record of me talking to anyone. At that point, I became frustrated. $125 can be a good amount of money. So I went to the location in order to get this hiccup resolved. About three days later my money was back in my account. Purpose of the story is that mistakes can happen, but they fixed it without any attitude and really listened to my concerns.

I explained I had Silversneaker plan and wish for a quick tour. The gentleman came back and not having the boxes checked also threw him off. I restated I just wanted a tour and asked should I just go home? So he just bristly walked me through the work out and did not mention the pricing until as asked if I would get everything on Silversneakers (of course not, but this dude need the tablet with all the boxes checked to give pricing). I thank him and left. My feeling was the two people working the desk last job was in fast food...
