On the spur of the moment I called this surgery and they kindly agreed to stay open a few more minutes to allow me to come and check Noddy. Until a few months ago I was buying bog standard cheap cat litter with my usual weekly shop but one…read moreweek I was at Pets at Home picking up some cat food for one of my cats anyway and I was running out of litter at home so I picked up Pets at Home's own brand non clumping wooden pellet litter, a huge 30 litre sack for about £7. It's so good! It lasts a lot longer than supermarket own brand litter, and actually works out cheaper. The only problems are, it takes up quite a lot of room in the kitchen and the cats like to scratch at the bag! Our cats are registered with the vets in here and while the treatment costs aren't as cheap as elsewhere I don't think, the veterinary staff are very knowledgeable and it's easy to get in and out of with the cats when you're taking them in for their vaccinations (although their constant miaowing doesn't half echo round the store!) As someone else mentioned, the small furry animals section is a real draw, especially when you have a little toddler!

He had to have surgery and stay in for a few days and well, he didn't want to come home! They are well cared for and loved by all the staff there. They use their name to make them feel at home. I was given an initial quote which seems very reasonable although after the surgery they said they had complications which then increased my bill which is understandable. It is quite a busy little pratice but they do make room for you if you call for an appointment. There are emergency consultations too. A great vets and the only one I ever go to now.

I like that this is a small practice with staff who genuinely care about the animals rather than profit which can be a problem with some of the larger chain type of practices. I have always managed to get a same day appointment when needed one of my cats is often getting himself into scrapes and has needed quite a few visits over the years. I do find this to be a lovely friendly caring place and we will continue to use it for as long as we have animals.

The only things is that the waiting room is quite small and can get backed up. Quite often there is a wait and sometimes there is nobody behind the reception desk. I wish people who had dogs would keep them next to them as it can be frightening for chidren and cats to go past. The fees are good and the vet is lovely, so I continue going there.
