Without their help in putting him back together, he would be pushing up the daisies or suffering an uncomfortable decline now, so they get the thumbs up from me. The vets are good with other procedures also: the dog's had a pair of replacement cruciate ligaments, which were not cheap, especially when one played up a short while after the op and had to be tightened a little further. But again, they have given the old boy a really amazing quality of life at his age and with the miles he has under his collar, so hats off to them for all their help. One day I'll find out about this pet insurance malarkey. Bit too late for this one!

On the spur of the moment I called this surgery and they kindly agreed to stay open a few more minutes to allow me to come and check Noddy. Sadly we were right and they kindly allowed him to go the the animal bridge, I am so grateful to them to assist us and to provide the upmost kindness, support and care. We first had to rush our cat…read moreIfrit to their 24 hour service a few months ago and were so kind and understanding when I explained my situation (not only a poor student but a poor disabled student relying on public transport) and let me work out first bus I could get to get Ifrit seen ASAP. Recently had to return to Manor Vets Edgbaston as it appears Ifrit has cystitis again and they're currently processing his urine samples today - a rush to make sure no underlying problems! By phone they are incredibly kind and patient, very understanding, and gave me numbers for the Cats Protection and Friends of the Animals for badly needed help with the cost of vets consultation and neutering fee for which I am incredibly grateful for. Some vets can be quite snobby and look down on lower-income people, but this recently refurbished state of the art veterinary practice is far from snobby. Treats were provided for the furry patients which helped Ifrit relax in the waiting room, and everyone there was definitely a pet person, creating a calming, warm, welcoming atmosphere. They've also given brilliant advice on foods that help his condition and it is little touches like that make me so grateful we chose Manor Vets.

They were equally fantastic when we called them in the small hours of the morning after witnessing a cat being run over, took the cat to the vets and they saw to it. They even gave us a courtesy call the next day to update us on the cat.

I like that this is a small practice with staff who genuinely care about the animals rather than profit which can be a problem with some of the larger chain type of practices. I have always managed to get a same day appointment when needed one of my cats is often getting himself into scrapes and has needed quite a few visits over the years. I do find this to be a lovely friendly caring place and we will continue to use it for as long as we have animals.

I have seen two different vets now on separate occasions and must say I am impressed. When I moved here from Herefordshire I did some research of the local vets and chose the nearest to home. After a few visits to the vets with both of my dogs and not really happy with the level of service, then by chance passing Barton Lodge in the car, I decided to give it a try the next time one of my dogs was ill, and Im so pleased I did. They will definitely have me as a returning pet owner whilst living in this area which will probably be for a long time yet.

Barton Lodge Veterinary Centre looked after our cat from the time she was a tiny kitten to the end…read moreof her long life. Staff at the practice are always friendly and polite and very caring for the animals they treat. The vets gave great advice about our pet's diet and general care. Their annual reminders about booster vaccinations were extremely helpful this is such an easy thing to overlook when you are busy working. We also were very pleased that they gave our cat an annual health check and I'm sure this is what kept her fit and well and a super pet for 16 years. When she eventually became terminally ill with cancer at the age of 17 one of the vets, the owner, sensitively gave us the prognosis and we were able to decide when the time had come to say goodbye to our pet. This was handled with great sensitivity for which we were very grateful. We will definitely continue to use Barton Lodge their service and expertise is second to none and we have great confidence in them.
