Never was the suggestion made that as it was only a hen why not put her down, she was treated as though she was an expensive pedigree. On the spur of the moment I called this surgery and they kindly agreed to stay open a few more minutes to allow me to come and check Noddy. Sadly we were right and they kindly allowed him to go the the animal bridge, I am so grateful to them to assist us and to provide the upmost kindness, support and care. The prices is to expensive?? What price do one compare to the love of your pet and their health!! Enough said. I get email telling me when our two cats are due annual injection. Or if I need something drop them a email and get a good response back. The place is always clean and staff very helpful. One time I forgot my wallet. The waiting area doesn't have many seats, although having said that, it hasn't been full any time that we've been there. The seats could be further apart, as having the seating that close means you run the risk of animals upsetting each other. The receptionists were friendly and polite, but didn't automatically acknowledge my presence. I had to point out that I was waiting to pay, because they just ignored me. The vets I have seen have been friendly, kind and good with the animals. We have not had to wait more than 5 minutes past our appointment time. They did offer me a kitten pack when we took the kitten in for his first injections, which contained leaflets about the surgery and advertising for pet food and insurance. Overall, the service was fine, but for the price I would normally expect better, and will be locating a cheaper vet locally in future.

The Vet's are great with both our dog and our child!!! and offer lots of helpful advice and are reasonable as well. they run Puppy and Kitten clubs which offer a really good deal for new owners and overall we were really happy with the friendliness of the team.

The staff are very professional, very helpful and capable. I found the vet I saw (Teresa) was extremely friendly, very caring and very honest. She put me at ease and was very thorough with explaining the advice regarding my cat. I felt genuinely cared for and would not hesitate to recommend this practice to anyone.

My cat had a gum infection and she wanted me to have two very expensive blood tests as she insisted the cat had leukaemia it had nothing of the sort. My cat often gets gum infections because she kills birds and mice and they cause the infections (something told to me by my previous vet in Cumbria where I went with my cat for 5 years so I think he was right). The blood tests would have cost me £140. Money I simply do not have. I insisted that she gave me antibiotic tablets, after an argument she gave me the tablets and I gave the necessary donation for these. Now my cat is fine. This woman really is a very bad vet and should not be working for the PDSA. I would have given no stars but this was not an option on this website

I have seen two different vets now on separate occasions and must say I am impressed. When I moved here from Herefordshire I did some research of the local vets and chose the nearest to home. After a few visits to the vets with both of my dogs and not really happy with the level of service, then by chance passing Barton Lodge in the car, I decided to give it a try the next time one of my dogs was ill, and Im so pleased I did. They will definitely have me as a returning pet owner whilst living in this area which will probably be for a long time yet.

Staff at the practice are always friendly and polite and very caring for the animals they treat. The vets gave great advice about our pet's diet and general care. Their annual reminders about booster vaccinations were extremely helpful this is such an easy thing to overlook when you are busy working. We also were very pleased that they gave our cat an annual health check and I'm sure this is what kept her fit and well and a super pet for 16 years. When she eventually became terminally ill with cancer at the age of 17 one of the vets, the owner, sensitively gave us the prognosis and we were able to decide when the time had come to say goodbye to our pet. This was handled with great sensitivity for which we were very grateful. We will definitely continue to use Barton Lodge their service and expertise is second to none and we have great confidence in them.
