We LOVE Willow Creek Kennels for our fur babies! We have a chocolate lab that they have been working with and he loves going!!! Everyone greets him with smiles even though I know he is a handful! Never have used this boarding service, unfortunately it was the only one available for our last trip. I was immediately treated with disrespect, specifically by April Edwards, one of the managers, when informing the office that I would be there to drop off right before close due to a work emergency. While leaving, I was asked "is it ok to play with others" I said yes he always does well with others. Now, when we went to pick up our dog we find out we had been charged for this playtime. Not a problem, but we wanted to let them know they should maybe clarify if it's an additional charge not just ask if he can play or be around others- there was no request for a refund or anything else. Amy just called us, and instead of apologizing for miscommunication or having any sort of understanding or kindness, and she simply said "read the contract and ask more questions" and had zero patience with us and was again disrespectful. Again, we never mentioned wanting money back or anything else. Just letting them know, maybe clarify if you're asking if a dog can play with others, or if it's a charged activity. Maybe you should clarify before you ask someone a question as they are walking out the door so that you can leave by 6:00 since you very clearly said you wouldn't be there a minute after. We won't be be using this place ever again. Especially if she is a manager and groomer. read more

I have never seen my poor babies act the way they are acting right now. They got no attention while staying there and I'm really unsure if they were taken care of at all... they are stained and dirty, all 3 are super itchy. We were excited to try them out as I had seen very good reviews, but I'm truthfully so disappointed. We were charged another full day when they were only open for an hour before I picked them up (total BS) I had to pay $15 per dog for "extra attention" which I do not think they received. We will not be returning and I cannot recommend this place to anyone. Horrible. read more

Please DO NOT bring your beautiful sweet babes to the Willow Creek Kennels, I know a lot about the place and the things that occur to them once you drop them off. It's honestly the most appalling thing I could see happen. Training dogs get abused the majority of the time when they come in and once they leave they know better because of the poor treatment they had received. One dog I do know of is my family friend's dog freckles, that dog was sweet and did need training but the dog is so scared of his owners it's sad to watch. On a daily basis the adorable babies don't have the appropriate time to play or go for walks that the parents paid for. When they take your dogs outside to play it's only for 5 minutes and then they bring them back inside and put them back in the cage. I'm leaving this here for everyone to read. There's a lot better places to put your dogs in when you work or travel. read more

This is a great place to take your dog if you are traveling. We were in town for a day and asked for day care for our dog, Luci. They also have pet products if you need something you forgot to pack. While there I saw the most beautifully groomed poodles. Their hair design made each dog look even more cute. I left there wishing I had a poodle to have groomed by them. Great job! Clean and neat place. Staff very friendly and helpful. We had taken out dog to the place we had taken her for years, they said they had to shave her because age had so many matts and they were going to charge for each one. Willow Creek said there were hardly any and they didn't charge one $ extra. Had I stayed at the other chain store I would have paid double what Willow creek charged. They were very careful with our dog and took time to talk to her and calm her. This will be my grooming place from now on. Well, I don't know if they changed groomers or what, but several visits after the first, they seemed to have let down. They left the mats behind her ears. I could let that go if I went back and they did a good job, because I can understand someone slipping up once in a blue moon. However, the traffic has picked up so bad in that area and the trucks come so fast, makes it difficult to get in and out of the parking lot. Maybe after they finish working on the Hi-ways it will be better? read more

Willow Creek Kennels - Pet Training Near Me - Amarillo, Texas

I know this place is pretty far out of town for most people, but we have always gone here for boarding and never had a problem. They are friendly and will do just about any extra feature (bath, trimmings, etc) you want for a fee. I believe they also do pet training, but we have never used that. There are a couple negatives. For one, they charge you for every day your pet is in the kennel. Maybe this is normal for kennels, but seems strange to me. For instance, if you drop your dog off on a Friday and pick him up on Sunday, you get charged 3 days instead of 2. I would think you get charged 2 overnights, but no. Also, if you book a spot on their online form, there is no response email or phone call to confirm the booking. Last time they did call a couple days in advance to confirm the booking (but long after we had reserved the spot), but it would be nice to have confirmation right when you submit the form. read more

Took my very large dog to be groomed today. I could not have been happier!! He was beautiful. The groomer at Willow Creek had to fix a very bad hair cut from another local groomer. I am very upset with our boarding experience there. My husband chose this facility because it is new, clean, and appeared appropriate. I did not have a chance to go out there but he did check it out ahead. He has never boarded animals before but thought it looked fine. When we arrived to check our puppy in, I told the lady he eats three times a day and asked about feeding times. She cut me off not once, but twice, telling me they only feed twice, giving me the times and was rather curt about it. This left about 16 hours between his last feeding and the next one but I thought it would be okay since it was just for a couple of days. I then mentioned his grass saver tablets, which you buy at the store to keep their urine from burning your grass. He loves them and we simply put them in his food. She said it wasn't a problem. Never mentioned a fee or anything else. We scheduled a bath before pickup as well. I normally have my dogs bathed at PetSmart which is a reasonable $16 and they come home smelling clean. Our puppy doesn't smell but I thought he might after being in a run for 2.5 days. We also had to pay for "extra" play time since apparently the dogs are in the run most of the time and not out in the yards for extended periods and we wanted to make sure he got plenty of exercise. So we go to pick him up today and after waiting for quite awhile, get hit with a $106 bill for the 3 days. The bath alone was $24 and when they brought him out, he smelled like wet dog, not clean like normal after a bath. We also got charged for medication and when I asked about that, the already rude woman we were dealing with said his OVER THE COUNTER grass savers that take a whole split second to drop in his bowl is considered medication. Never mind that they never mentioned a fee when I brought it up at check in. Then, we get him outside and the poor puppy starts army crawling through their grass and peeing in that position. We are not talking a marking pee (he doesn't do that yet) it was a long pee not once, but TWICE within a few feet! This tells me he was crated for an extended period and not let out to potty. I was furious but to make it worse, this puppy, who at 18 weeks has done beautifully and has not had a potty accident in over a month, peed in the house twice within an hour and a half after getting home. It's funny because they have their training logo on their website but clearly do not abide by how the owners have trained their dogs. The staff was rude as can be and between that, the outrageous price, and them undoing our training work in just 3 days, I will NEVER board there again nor will I recommend them to anyone else. read more
