I worked at Le Chateau in 2013 not too long after it first opened. It was an amazing place, clean, professional staff, and everyone really cared and looked out for the well-being of every single dog. Customer service was extremely important, we were required to open doors for all clients, carry in belongings, and go above and beyond for both dogs and owners. I recently went back to work here and was so disappointed in how much it had changed. Suites (kennels) are no longer cleaned daily, even after a dog checks out. Outside private yards are very rarely scooped, if ever, and maintenance person refuses to sanitize the yards. Feces is left in the indoor play yard for days because no feels that it is their job to clean it up. Run cards are not put on suites for the daycare dogs so it is very easy to pull the wrong dogs for play groups. The facility is no longer cared for and it is obvious. I would strongly suggest a different facility for both daycare and boarding, this is definitely not the 5 star pet resort it used to be. Even 1 star would be pushing it. read more

I recently took Kelly once again for her fifth retreat, which she now does not look at so much as a resort but as a spa and fun vacation. They are the most wonderful and loving place. You could imagine it's like playing with friends and being pampered, I love to add on the bath and nail trim so when I pick her up she's perfectly happy and comes prancing out to show off like she has had more fun than me. We took our 2 dogs there years ago for a week and when we picked them up they had NOT fed them the food I had taken as they had promised, both girls had dropped tons of weight They were nervous and scared to death We were supposed to be able to see them on camera but the camera was always messed up and never on- now I know why I wouldn't take a rat there ever!! read more

I was moving from California to Dallas and needed a place for my dogs to stay so I did my research a few months prior and booked my dogs here for a night. I was really nervous as my options seemed very limited in Amarillo but I am SO happy I found this place! I would probably go back to Amarillo just to let my dogs stay here again! The staff was extremely friendly and kind to my dogs and that always makes me feel comfortable when leaving my dogs at a new place overnight! The facility was very cute from what I saw and I love that they have an app and the pet cams! Overall, my dogs left extremely happy and even on the way out the door, the staff still took their time to play with them! Overall, such a great experience!! read more

If I could honestly give this place zero stars, I would. After getting our sweet girl, we boarded her for the first time after being with her constantly for two years during WFH because of COVID. The first time we boarded her, we watched the cameras and they never took her out to play. So, for the week we were away, our sweet girl was just confined to her kennel, which looks like a worse version of a prison cell. Don't let the pictures fool you- the kennels look nothing like they do online. The staff couldn't be worse, as well. When we picked her up from her stay and asked how our girl did, they said her name in a sarcastic questioning tone, said nothing, except laughed in our face before going back to get her for us. I made the awful mistake of taking her back for a doggy day care during Christmas time, so my baby could get a picture with Santa. I called halfway during her daycare day to ensure our baby was getting a picture and they said she was. However, when I picked her up excited for the picture and asked for it, they lied to my face and said, "we didn't think you wanted one" even though they verbally clarified she was getting one. I was so fed up at this point that they weren't patient enough with her to get a picture, that I requested them to get one before I left, seeing as I paid good money specifically for this special advertised event. Despite all of this, they initially refused, until I suggested I go back with them to get my picture. I could go on and on about the horrible treatment of the staff and lack of promised play times and basic services. If you care anything about your baby, DO NOT take them to Le Chateau. The only reason to take your dog there is if you want them confined to a small, pathetic kennel during their stay and being laughed at by staff when you come back for your baby. I have never left a negative review on any platform before, so this should go to show anyone reading this how maddening and awful this "pet resort" is. read more

I love this place! I was in town for only a little while, and my Nala stayed with them for a night. She absolutely loved it (I could tell by how happy she was when I picked her up the next day)! The give you this report card to let you know how your dog did while there, and it said she's playful and energetic, and that she loves the pool! We have used them on two occasions so far and both times it was great! Our husky seems to enjoy it here the most while my older dogs who to be honest hates being away from us hated it but I think it's bias so their opinion didn't count. I can honestly say I trust them with my dogs and that says a lot because I don't trust them with many people. The fact that they have cameras for us to watch was really a cherry on top and the staff where really accommodating for our pups when we couldn't make it back in time for pick up. One of the problems of having 11 cameras for the customers to check on their dogs is that I have ample resources to monitor if my dog is given the outside time they promise me she will be given. This is the third time my dog wasn't given time out of her kennel, and I can guarantee it was the last time. If I'm going to leave my dog cooped up in a kennel I can do it at home. When I confronted them all I got was a parade of people and their sheets of paper, no one would step up and address the problem. read more

Great place for my dog. I've used them for boarding a couple of times and have used the doggie daycare too. Staff is always friendly and cheerful. Facilities are clean. My dog is always excited when we she gets out of the car and realizes we are at LeChateau. They separate the dogs into different play groups based upon size and play style so older slower dogs or shy dogs don't have to worry about dealing rambunctious ones. I'll keep going back. read more

Be careful leaving your dog here. They allow known aggressive dogs and an inch of my dog's ear was bitten off. I was told by the owner there had never been a problem with the other dog, but I later found out there had been at least 5 other incidents at Le Chateau and many others with the City of Amarillo with that particular dog. The owner of Le Chateau also tried to trivialize the severity of the accident by stating in the incident report I was given that my dog's ear was cut and was taken care of with a topical spray when the truth was that more than an inch of my dog's ear was bitten off...he was covered in blood when I left the facility and required surgery. If the owner and facility staff were diligent and truly concerned about the safety of the dogs entrusted in their care, the dog that bit mine should have never been allowed back after it's first incident, but was instead allowed to come back numerous times and have a total of FIVE documented accidents. Also, this dog was not neutered and was allowed out for group play with all the other dogs. Whereas most facilities don't allow intact dogs after the age of 7 months or at least keep them away from the other dogs in order to prevent situations like what happened to my dog and numerous others at Le Chateau, they are irresponsible and put them in playgroups with the rest of the dogs. Most everyone in the pet industry knows this isn't a safe practice as intact dogs tend to be more aggressive and can create tense situations around other dogs. Their staff, except for maybe 1, has no legitimate training in pet care or dog behavior. This was not an isolated incident regarding aggressive dogs at Le Chateau and the owner is much more concerned about making money rather than the safety of the dogs. **UPDATE 03/24/2014** The owner of Le Chateau has allowed a group of three Golden Retrievers to return multiple times even though they killed a small dog a couple of years ago. I just learned that those same dogs recently mauled and nearly killed another dog. These dogs should have never been allowed back after they killed the first one, but the owner of Le Chateau likes to pad her bank account by allowing a family of three violent and aggressive dogs to share one cage. This shows total negligence and irresponsibility on the owner's part. Just like the dog that bit mine, these dogs should have been banned from returning to ensure the safety of other dogs. I've never left a review on anything before so consider the following a warning before taking your pets to this so called "Resort". Le Chateau has over 300 pictures on their website showing off how much fun and enjoyment these animals are having during their stay. Not one picture on the website shows where these animals sleep or stay while they aren't outside. I got to bring my Labrador retriever inside and take her to her holding cell, because that's what it is. It's literally a holding cell. They advertise these rooms as luxurious hotel rooms for dogs, but in reality it's a small box with hard concrete for a floor and a doggy door that leads to a small caged outdoor area that's not even big enough for my Labrador retriever to extend her full body and lay down. While on the website everything stemmed picture perfect, and I was actually relieved that I found a place so nice and neat that I didn't have to worry about leaving my dog there while I go on vacation. To top it all off they close early every single day just so they can snag an extra day with your dog, charging you an extra night while your on your way back from your destination. Le Chateau "Pet resort" should be named "pet motel" because that's exactly what it looked like when I dropped my Labrador off. Like I said I literally downloaded yelp, and created an account just to say this. I hope you reconsider choosing le chateau when you need to board your pet. read more

When I lived in Amarillo, I would bring my chocolate lab Winston here. He absolutely loved going and they always remembered who we were. They made sure to take care of him amazingly well and made sure he was properly fed. I especially liked that the group playtimes were included in his stay. My three cats stayed here for ten days. I chose Le Chateau because their cat room is so cat friendly, with lots of places for them to climb and sleep and even a screened in patio with a tree. When I picked up the cats to go home, they didn't seem to want to leave! The staff is friendly and obviously care about the animals, and the whole facility is very clean and well-maintained. I have been taking my fur babies to Le Chateau since they opened. Two of those babies have since passed on to the Rainbow Bridge. We utilize both the daycare and boarding for our dogs. Being able to have our dogs attend daycare while we are at work is such a blessing. Our dogs are able to run off their access daytime energy! When we need to be out of town for a few days or longer, we are able to leave and not worry about their care. My dogs that take maintenance medications never miss a dose while staying. read more

I never have to leave my babies so I looked long for the perfect place wanted them to have access to the outside on their own will since my 1 yr old border collie is afraid of everyone. This pet resort was very nice. I had them bath and brush my older border collie and she looked so pretty and had an adorable scarf on when I went to pick her up. My only complaint is the young lady at the front desk and the cameras they said I could access to watch my pet. The young lady at front desk made me feel like I wAs an inconvenience to her she was the one who checked my girls in and I was Leary about leaving them because I got no smile from her, no eye contact, and no feeling of being welcomed. When I picked them up I got the same treatment from her. My dogs are mY children and I like to know that who watches them shows some sort of caring, compassionate personality. I'm glad to know that she didn't care for my pets think she just checks them in because I would probably reconsider ever leaving them or taking them there again because feeling I got from her is "could care less". And I tried and tried to get the camera working so I could try to use the cameras and couldn't get it to work. I'd recommend they give us a little more explanation on that when we drop them off. read more

Gracie LOVES Le Chateau and the people that work there. They always brag how sweet she is. Being an only dog she loves going to play time with the other dogs. They evaulate your dog's activity level and temperment and put them with similar dogs. They also have an app that allows you to watch your dog during play time. Makes leaving her so much easier. They also give her a bath right before we pick her up!! Love this place and highly recommend them to others!! read more

I would have appreciated a little more feedback on how my dog did after a weekend boarding, but he was calmer (at least for a day or two) and apparently unscathed. The facility looks good, clean and organized. Even though they brought me the wrong dog at first (to be fair, same name and the employee went to get him before they pulled up my actual record), I'm comfortable using this place again. And I don't just leave my dogs anywhere... Oh, one thing that bugged me was that you apparently have to pay to view their webcams--not cool. Always left our dogs there! Never again. We take a long vacation 2-3 times a year with our daughter and leave our three dogs there. My daughter pays extra to keep her Springer Spaniel away from male dogs as she does not want puppies. We could not get them to answer their phone so we sent my mother over there to check on the dogs. The employees were laughing that we were going to have some cute puppies with a full blood Australian Shepherd named Jasper! Seemed very unconcerned and said they didn't know she hadn't been spayed although my daughter has been paying extra all along. After a couple of phone calls someone named Amy assured my daughter that (of course she wouldn't have to pay the extra daily fee...a little late) and they would pay 80% of the vet charges. Well when we came home today the girl at the desk said she was told to charge the extra fee!!! If they can't keep their word about that then I am sure they will not pay the vet charges! We always pay to have them bathed and my dog had to get a bath when we got home. Very disappointed in them and we will never use them again. read more
