We eventually decided to leave without choosing or buying a ring (again, it was our first time ever looking). She told us that if we came back and wanted a ring, we should make sure to ask for her so that she could get the commission, along with a comment about how that is how she gets paid - which is fair, but when matched with an irritated attitude, not explaining anything about the process, and seemingly blowing us off because we were just looking, it was more upsetting than anything else. The comment about the commission basically sums up the whole experience. We were looking around for our first time, with no idea how any of it worked, looking for someone knowledgeable who seemed interested in helping us find the right ring, but instead, we walked out feeling like the priority was making a sale and earning commission rather than helping us. We decided to purchase elsewhere (with a salesperson who did mention commission but was helpful and kind throughout the whole experience) and would not recommend to others.
